as for mono vs. stereo debate - it is kinda like the thing: what was it like growing up without a father? you don't know any different until you compare. in other words, we were all fine with our stereo versions, as andrew intimated. until you hear mono mixes, stereo is what we grew up with.

@Clarke, yep, based on those. Some new additions as well. Fascinating stuff. I was moved to break out "Go 2," which I barely ever do, based on the deep dive into "Beatown," a song I never rated that highly. One of those kind of books.

We, the Dutch Kinks Preservation Society, tried to get the Kinks to Utrecht in the Netherlands in 2008 to celebrate 40 years of the VGPS-album, but we didn't succeed in bringing them together that year. We had Pete Quaife as guest in 2004 and Ray in 2010, but unfortunately it wasn't to be in 2008. A missed opportunity.

I'm not sure exactly. It sounded better after I switched to vinyl that day and it's been better since. But it sounds like the tweeter isn't always producing a sound in the left channel. I think it's just time for new speakers...

before you do that: switch wires just to see if it is NOT the speakers.

also, the speakers could be repaired - but, not as easy in the city, i guess.

It better not be the wires. I paid good money for them and they're only a few years old.

I'm not sure it's even worth repairing these. They're not very expensive or highly regarded, and I could probably upgrade cheaper than what it would cost to have them fixed.

i don't mean switch the KIND of wires - i mean switch the connections at the amp to the speakers to reverse the right and left and see if the sound stays the same

if the left speaker makes the same noise on the right side - then it may be your amp??

Hey, I have this single, always liked it (another example of good music from a bad film)...I think this is a bonus cut on the Blood & Chocolate CD (although it didn't have all versions). I remember EC playing this at his B'way shows in '86 (either live or over the sound system before he went on---maybe someone here remembers).

Jeezus, why play the ravings of this idiot? ("We should empower the pharmaceuticals"...huh?) They should make this into one of those "A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste" PSAs.
