	9:28pm Fox: My Gramma had a dial phone with a party line when I was growing up. I was taught to let the phone ring at least 8 rings before giving up, because that was roughly how long it took for an old person to get to the telephone table.

	9:35pm JakeGould: @kenFromHydePark: At multiple jobs this is what I did to get rid of telemarketing calls, “Hey, let me put you on hold for a second!” they would say “Okay!” and I would just hang up and I never heard from them again. Worked 100% of the time.

	🌫 ♥ 9:42pm Ken From Hyde Park: One salesman called my dad to sell a workbench or some kind of shop tool. Dad asked all kinds of questions and kept the guy on the line for like half an hour, and then said he wasn't interested. The salesman swore at him and slammed the phone down.
	9:44pm Fox: My brain thanks you for this, Daniel. This is exactly the de-stressing my head needs. It's like counteracting a sound wave with an equal and opposite sound wave equalling silence. The chaos calms my frenzied mind.

Mental Notes was a live broadcast that simultaneously mixed all of the tape decks, turntables, and cd players in the studio. As a concession to creeping modernity, for this evening's program, a computer or two shall be incorporated into the mix!

	♥ 9:46pm coelacanth∅: i knew people who'd won the cruise and took it. they said it was fun. hotel was included and some not completely terrible meals. the main catch was that they had to spend 2 days looking at real estate. i won it and spent a long time on the phone "qualifying". i was doing fine for i don't know 25 minutes? when she said "you and your wife..." i wasn't married and was instantly disqualified.
