Favoriting October 9, 2018: Peplum with Co-Host Joel St. Germain
In support of WFMU's annual October silent fundraiser, Rolling Motions' Joel St. Germain joins Devon E. Levins in open-toed footwear with sword in hand on a special episode of Morricone Island celebrating the greased up, shirtless muscle men of Peplum, the historical and Biblical costume drama epics that dominated Italian cinema from 1958-1965 and beyond.

Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

By the sirens sweetly singing
For the sparkling waves are calling you
To kiss their white laced lips
And you see a girl's brown body
Dancing through the turquoise
And her footprints make you follow
Where the sky loves the sea
And when your fingers find her
She drowns you in her body
Carving deep blue ripples
In the tissues of your mind
...whut no wahwah?
Geez - Ligeti territory...

Sergio Leone worked on
Hercules and other cheesy mythological and Biblical pictures in his early career.

Hearing bits similar to Korla Pandit, Nino Rota, Yma Sumac and other familiar exotica.
