  3:33pm Jocelyn:

NGH, How are you feeling? Infection gone?
Avatar 3:34pm Cecile:

You know, I shouldn't have, but I went and looked at NPR's Greatest Albums by women, and the 250 tracks for women artists to watch, and frankly, I learned I don't care about lists that don't have Neneh Cherry, Cher, Paloma Faith, Girlschool or Kylie Minogue on it.
Avatar 3:34pm Cecile:

Oh, yeah. I need London and Stuttgart recommendations, people!
  3:36pm Jocelyn:

Cecile, I agree!

Thanks again, Michele!
Avatar 3:39pm Cecile:

Also, I hate to say this, but while I love a lot of Joan Jett solo stuff, I never warmed to the Runaways. Always felt that Girlschool were more real, funny and better players. Lemmy loved 'em, that's the best tribute.
  3:40pm Adrian in London:

@Cecile What do you want to know about London? Feel free to contact me; I’ll be happy to help with suggestions for shows, galleries, bars, record shops, whatever
Avatar 3:40pm northguineahills:

@Jocelyn: The infection is not gone, but, I'd classify it as moderate right now. Psoriasis is glacially improving as the infection dissipates. Went out for the first time since early July last night (friend's band opened for Adult., and I felt healthy enough to do so.). Gracias por preguntar!
Avatar 3:40pm djsheilab:

Cecile—Yes, Adrian in London is your man!
Avatar 3:42pm Cecile:

I'll do just that! I'm mostly looking for great bars with DJs and a dance floor, record stores, galleries and cheap food. My friend from Bermuda got us tickets to two West End shows. It's going to be a busy 4.5 days!
Avatar 3:42pm djsheilab:

So when did everyone join the Boom Boom Train? I'm relatively new - a show from earlier this year with both 70's female-fronted Turkish pop and Charli XCX (some kind of radio Platonic ideal for me) sealed the deal for me.

About a month or so after the show began. The problem was until recently my schedule prevented me from listening live but I downloaded the show weekly. Discovered it in an odd way. A friend sent me a link because she thought it was cool that Sheila and I had the same mid century shelving system.
Avatar S.B. Boomer: Marathon 2020 Swag For Life Member 4:03pm tneeld:

@tneeld: Those two shows with Kornelia are definitely highwater-mark territory. Funky, adventurous Turkish female pop from the 1970s is hard to beat.

@Rob kopp: When I'm w/ my wife, I can blare my music as loud as I want (she's a heavy sleeper). One night, I had some friends over, and I put on loud techno (stereo was in the same area as the bedroom). She had no idea I had anyone over. I'm exact opposite. I can hear a roach on the other side of my house, and it will wake me.
