Hey everybody. I missed hearing last week's show live for the first time in forever because I was out partyin' with Ryley Walker after his first of 2 shows he played in Philly last week, ha ha.
Avatar 10:05pm Adamsworth:

It was great, on Sunday he played with Bill McKay and on Friday he played with Ryan Jewell opening for Espers and Vetiver.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07pm medson:

Good evening
Swag For Life Member 10:07pm opurt:

So bummed that I could not make it back east for the Esper shows (hoping they are on Dime soon).
  10:09pm MONEYBAG$:

Hey did anyone record Sheryl Crow at Lockn? Auds only please
Avatar 10:09pm Adamsworth:

Espers were so good.
Swag For Life Member 10:10pm opurt:

Sheryl Crow at Lockn is already on Dime.
Swag For Life Member 10:11pm opurt:

Apologies Moneybags$ - that looks like video also - my bad.....
Avatar 10:11pm Adamsworth:

Also Meg Baird sang with Vetiver on a cover of Sleep a Million Years. I didn't find out until afterwards they were performing a cover album they did like 10 years ago in its entirety. I've somehow missed out on hearing Vetiver until the other night.
Avatar 10:12pm Adamsworth:

They were pretty good, but I really liked when they'd jam out, but they didn't do it too much. Oh well.
  10:15pm rw:

Hey! I had to check the lyrics to be sure but Moby Grape were singing about Robitussin. And Grandma.

re: Further proof that rock and roll is the devil's playground.

Expecting to see a flood of comments over the next 15-25 minutes :-)
Adamsworth, I'm so envious that you were able to attend that show - very pleased to hear the positive review.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24pm medson:

1 night at Henry Miller in Big Sur!
Avatar 11:07pm Adamsworth:

One of my coolest memories is driving through Montana prarie zone with mountains in the distance as the sun was coming up, and antelopes were running in the field alongside the road.
  11:08pm franny:

I'm late and crazy. I said to my boyfriend 'this is really upbeat. Not the usual.'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09pm fleep:

I just got here. I'll listen on the archive. Promise.

Avatar 11:10pm Adamsworth:

I liked the song, but I'll give it another listen....
  11:10pm phat:

I was totally late
Avatar 11:16pm franny:

We blue it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:17pm brycepunk1:

Just got here. That Doc Dunn song was sweet.
  11:20pm iain:

wfmu is so awesome. loving this greatful dead ish
  11:22pm Dean:

Was in Down Home last weekend, when they played instore the entire Moby Grape record. Really struck me. Must acquire. Meanwhile, I've landed the 50th anniversary remasters of the first two Grateful Dead albums. Just wow.
Avatar 11:23pm Jeff Conklin:

@Dean: Sounding good? Havent heard...
  11:23pm saucerful:

Yay! Love this Allman Bros. tune...first time listening live at the new time slot :-)
  11:23pm iain:

wow dean very cool
..might seem sarcastic but im sincere
  11:24pm saucerful:

I've been listening to Anthem of the Sun a lot lately.
  11:25pm iain:

loving this classic rock you never know what to expect on wfmu but i expect the unexpected if you know what i mean
  11:27pm Dean:

My introduction to the Dead was, perhaps not surprisingly, Workingman's Dead. From there I passively understood the extent of their contribution. Only lately have I begun to dig in. Yes, those first two albums sound real good. The second comes with mono and stereo versions. (I prefer the former.) Both have relatively contemporaneous live shows. Top notch, all of it.
  11:36pm Dean:

Just ordered the Cornell '77 show, too. More than a few times I have proclaimed that I attended EVERY SINGLE DEAD SHOW, and I won't deny those statements. But I've been slow to pick up the souvenirs, and now I'm just getting started.
  11:37pm saucerful:

That's cool Dean. Jeff, I miss the long Dead sets at this new slot, but think things flow well.
  11:40pm Dean:

  11:41pm saucerful:

  11:42pm saucerful:

Ooh, I just remembered there's a full moon tonight!
  11:44pm Dean:

Apologies, but I'm a librarian, and I'm thinking of the doofus twelve years from now searching for "New Morning."
  11:45pm saucerful:

haha totally get it
Avatar 11:45pm franny:

Great tune.
Avatar 11:46pm franny:

Denny. should have known.
  11:47pm saucerful:

Yeah, love this song...bought a used copy of the Fairport Chronicles recently and it includes some of their connected musical releases. I'd never heard The Bunch before...it's got a lot of the Fairport members as well as Linda Peters (later Thompson).
  11:50pm Dean:

Just bought the Denny record. Thanks.
Avatar 11:52pm Adamsworth:

I was just recommending Blue to a friend earlier today who was asking what was the best album to get into Joni!
  11:55pm Dean:

Jeff Golick sitting in?
  11:56pm Mitch:

Now this is really good cover
  12:00am Dean:

Kevin Ayers-ish, in a good way
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm jmr3:

Hey Jeff - I think "Träden" is pronounced more like the trad in traditional - but say it however you want as long as you play it
