A very, very famous song in the classical world. Great singers love to tackle it to show what they can do.

Good evening everyone

Mozarts Requiem - Leonard Bernstein and the London Symphony Orchestra - slays me... Rex Tremendae has me in tears every time... i guess i began really listening to it when i was struggling with my relationship with my dad...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Rob Kopp:

Was punishing myself where I knew this music from (Maria Bayo). It reminds me of Vangelis & Jon Anderson's song So long ago, so clear
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Guido from Cologne:

I know "I Start Counting" from Dusty springfield.
Is this the original?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm Michael 98145:

if anyone wants a look into the making of the opera world, try to attend one of the local Metropolitan Opera tryouts in your area. some of these young singers are amazing.

Now I have it:
Basil Kirchin is the composer of "I Start Counting"-
Dusty's version was the flip of "Yesterday When I Was Young" in 1972.
Would be intersting who is singing on Basil's version.
Obviously not the guy.

In Portugal it is pronounced the same as in French, Georges. In European Portuguese, we say [ˈʒɔɾʒ(ɨ)] or “ZHOR-zh”. Rather similar to the English pronunciation of George. Brazilian pronunciation depends on the specific accent, but the last “e” is usually pronounced “i” or “e”: something like [ʒɔɾʒi/] or “ZHOR-zhee”.

Does anyone know, if I favorite a song on the WFMU app does it become a clicky star on the website? I'm guessing the answer is no, because even if I use the same user handle on the app, it doesn't show as my user profile on the website. (Not only that, you can't comment in a mobile browser on the WFMU site, because the comment input form runs off the bottom of the page!)

This was probably the first time since 1982 I heard Ben Watt. That year I bought the 12" Summer into winter with him and Robert Wyatt. Just looked on Discogs and didn't know he still was making music. There's a big gap between 1983 and 2002
Avatar 5:43pm EarlyMorningInSeoul:

Avatar 5:43pm northguineahills:

@fred: It's usually 35C even w/ the rain, but after an hour or so it drops a few degrees, as rain literally turns to steam off the bitumen asphalt. If it didn't rain, we' be hovering w/ 40C w/ nearly 90% relative humidity, so, I'm happy for the rain. Haven't had to water my garden since late March.
