Sure, it takes 0.77 US cents to buy a Canadian dollar, amd friends who moved here from Orange County, Calif., said they had better internet access speed than there, BUT... As for Labrador, if you want to live at 51 degrees north, try Oxfordshire, UK. Same latitude but minus the tundra, seals, Inuit, and 11 month winters.

	11:12am rw: UM, I grew up in So. Cal. but was at KU in '82-'84. I'll bet we do know people in common. I still talk to and see Frank Morris occasionally. Wade Johnston too. You know either of those guys?

	♥ 11:14am Uncle Michael: No. The music guys I know would be Steve Wilson and Todd Newman. Bet we were at all the same shows at the Lawrence Opera House.
	♥ 11:16am doctorjazz: Yup, at Union Transfer, watta great band they put together. Ars Nova even printed up books with essays by different writers, didn't get to read them yet, Ben Ratliff was one, quite a few others. Show was dedicated to Philly. (pain to get there and back, but I like Philly...).
	11:16am rw: I remember Todd! How's he doing? Yeah, I'm sure we crossed paths a few times. Did Iggy Pop play the Opera House? Shockabilly? Those are a couple shows I remember.

	♥ 11:21am Uncle Michael: Iggy at the Opera House three years running. Todd's been in Minneapolis for many years. He works at an art museum and is a single dad. He moved up there with The Leatherwoods, the band he formed with Tim O'Reagan long before Tim joined the Jayhawks. You must remember Steve...fronted Thums and worked at Keif's Records.

	11:21am rw: I remember one night at the radio station Todd Newman peeking through the window to see what song the DJ was about to play and then calling to request that song. Doing it several times in a row with different voices. Every time the DJ would come out and say, "Hey, you'll never guess what just happened!"

	11:23am rw: Yeah, it was that moment that I realized he had done that to me too!
	♥ 11:25am Uncle Michael: One day I was driving around Lawrence and listening to KJHK and Todd was on someone's show as a guest, playing "chooglin'" records.

He moved up there with The Leatherwoods, the band he formed with Tim O'Reagan long before Tim joined the Jayhawks. You must remember Steve...fronted Thums and worked at Keif's Records.

Doing it several times in a row with different voices. Every time the DJ would come out and say, "Hey, you'll never guess what just happened!"
