Whoa, daytime radio... I don't think I'll ever get used to it, but the transition from the Saturday late night shift to the unlikely rock hour of Tuesday at 9 AM went down like aces for me, glad to say! Thanks to everyone who called and emailed while the show was in progress... these little meetings mean a lot to me, you know...

I bought cigars for my Dad for Father's Day. He used to smoke the cheap kind sold in pharmacies, but gave them up some years ago. I thought it would be fun to smoke a cigar with my old man, so I went to the local tobacco shop and picked up some (by comparison) pretty decent ones. He was appreciative of the sentiment, but it turns out he absolutely did NOT want to have one so many years after quitting, so it looks like I will be indulging by myself. I'm now going to put on a ratty bathrobe and walk down to the park, smoking a cigar and muttering to myself. If I get arrested for vagrancy, I promise to use my one call to phone into Tom Scharpling's show.
