I have a cold, and when that happens, my voice drops a major third or so, and so I was trying to record the Gothic Archies' excellent "Smile! No One Cares How You Feel" this morning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm Carmichael:

Heya Irwin and Chusidites.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Afternoon, gang!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm bore:

in high school I had wayward bus on auto reverse until it got eaten
  3:09pm dei xhrist:

This is our chance to share our Stephin Merritt stories: in the late 80s, I taped songs from a college radio station, but I never taped the banter. One ethereal song got to me, and years later I became a DJ at same station with the crazed hopes that I would find That Song. When the station lost its storage space and had to dump 1000s of CDs, I took as many as my van could carry. And within that treasure trove was That Song: If I Were Napoleon, on Distant Trees. Someday I'll find the person worth singing that to.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm Stevel:

The word "wasp's" is not easy to say on the radio.
  3:10pm dei xhrist:

Distant PLASTIC Trees rather, for those playing along at home
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm BLCKDGRD:

Saw Mag Fields in Philly at Union Station ten or so years ago, me his his mom and his brother, who looks just like Stephin. So it's only sorta a Stephin Merritt story.
Avatar 3:22pm Jeff Moore:

@dei xhrist: and the song is actually called "Josephine", I believe.
Avatar 3:23pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

My wife just called, we have a new hornets nest on the garage near the patio. I will attack it tonight when they are sleeping. Chemical attack. Maybe I will sprinkle holy water on it and pray first to protect me from their painful stings. I did that once before, and it worked, they slept as they died.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm bore:

barley tea?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm bore:

oh! weak green tea!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm tom from Glasgow:

this is very exciting
Avatar 3:23pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

I HATE hornets, but they kill and eat bad garden insects. I just wish they would not get so close to my house.
  3:23pm Laura L:

Hi Otis! Nice to see you here!
  3:24pm rf:

Hooray for Stephin!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm tom from Glasgow:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@WN - You can do what Homer Simpson did and stuff the nest into your neighbor's mailbox.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm tom from Glasgow:

fill 11 minutes? if anyone can, Can can
Avatar 3:28pm βrian:

I once encountered a hornet's nest in a shed. It was about 4ft x 3 x 3. We called in the pros for that one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm Otis Fodder:

Laying in a vertical position on the couch for the afternoon is a fine change of reaction. Includes pillow, internet stream, and 2 cats.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm Ike:

What's the most impertinent question you've ever been asked?

Tormato is one of the first albums I bought with my own money (after the second Foreigner lp and The Kids are Alright). Traded it in for beer money at some point, but those first few notes put me "right there"
No clowns, indeed.

Avatar 4:21pm Linda Lee:

Lots of non-music on his show.
Avatar 4:22pm Linda Lee:

Avatar 4:23pm Linda Lee:
