Avatar 4:18pm Anthony:

  4:19pm Al:

Thanks Bill for playing The Roulettes.
Avatar 4:27pm Sid:

Mellow Gold as opposed to Monster Riff.
Avatar 4:29pm Sid:

This is as close to Rich Conaty as FMU gets I guess.
Avatar 4:33pm Sid:

I sense acute bi-polarity in today's playlist. I mean more than usual. Could be tax exhaustion....
Avatar 4:35pm Sid:

...and now I feel hungry on top of it all.
  4:36pm noel:

Son of Baconator.
  4:38pm Al:

Sadly, no one has been able to replace Rich Conaty.
  4:39pm noel:

Started cooking at 6:30am and finished at 1:00pm now finishing up the second load of dishes. Thank god for dishwashers and Reeeeal Rock n' Roll.
  4:40pm noel:

Quo
Avatar 4:41pm Sid:

No, Rich C. was one of a kind.
  4:48pm Al:

@noel: Other than Matchstick, we don't hear much Quo on this side of the pond. That song was co-written by British heartthrob Marty Wilde (father of Kim).
  4:50pm noel:

I'm from Glasgow and Ice In the Sun was out when I was over in 68. I'm a BBC Manchester listener and know the histories of Marty, daughter and have Marty's stuff.
  4:52pm noel:

I also saw Quo at the Glasgow Empire back in 95 with Swinging Blue Jeans and B.J. Kramer great show. At least Quo gave Fogarty bread for Rockin' All Over the World. Long forgotten over here.
  4:56pm prep school:

FOUR PREPS' bass Ed Cobb produced and wrote the Standell's "Dirty Water" . . . and baritone Glen Larson was the creator of the television series Alias Smith and Jones, Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Quincy, M.E., The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, B. J. and the Bear, The Fall Guy, Magnum, P.I. and Knight Rider.
  7:27pm Bill Kelly:

Ed Cobb wrote songs performed by the Standells and the Chocolate Watch Band, among others. His greatest claim to fame may be penning "Tainted Love".
Swag For Life Member 7:01pm Peapeagirl:

I must have been absent when they taught the
The Four Preps in school. Silly me, taking off on such an exceptional day.
  2:08am John from CDA:

I looked up some info about the Hi-Fives, and you'll be glad to know that they from Jersey.
9:51am Letitia Baldrige, the Doyenne of Decorum:

With Bobby Vee getting his big break filling in after the 1959 plane crash of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper, the instrumental title "Flying' High" hovers on bad etiquette
10:04am sci-fi writer Harlan Ellison (and James Garner):

Glen Larceny's greatest claim to fame may be lifting from scripts penned for cinema blockbusters (and the Rockford Files)
  10:34am Harry Coyle:

In the "Beatles: Concert Years" special running on Thirteen, the camera keeps cutting to John when it's solo guitarist George's moment
  10:44am preppie:

It only just hit me that Temptations' Otis Williams sang "Ling Ting Tong" ! . . . . "Gellow Mold" riff's off Black Mountain's "Wucan"
