FMU, your Grammy Station !!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm joe:

I'm really looking forward to this Mastodon/Primus tour. I love the idea of the contrast.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm joe:

They are on "Don't Shoot The Toy Piano Player"
Avatar 2:07pm Fox:

I researched it once, and it seems that if you've worked a minimum of BLANK many hours on "published" music, you can vote in the Grammy's. So... don't most musicians with taste work in the industry? Why don't we take back the Grammy's? I think if everyone voted who COULD vote, much like politics, we'd have a far different turn out.
Avatar 2:10pm Diane Kamikaze:

Thanks @Joe, my searches were not working!
Avatar 2:10pm Fox:

So many people WITHOUT major labels backing them deserve that level of exposure.
Avatar 2:17pm Wild Neil:

King Crimson was only nominated for 2 grammys ever...and for obscure work, not their best work!
Avatar 2:18pm Wild Neil:

Regarding the 90's: Cake. He's going the distance.....he's going for speed!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm chris:

90's: Helmut's "In the Meantime" will *always* be with me, for some reason.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm chris:

such a killer set, DK!
  2:28pm Dean:

Listened to Helmet's "Betty" just this last weekend.
Avatar 2:30pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

To this fake clergyman, the '90s were five hundred percent all about COWS. Live and otherwise.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30pm Coe:

I never got to see Helmet in their "hey" day. I did get to see them a few years ago in a very small venue only 15 mintues from my house and they were great. The guys Page was playing with most of which were younger if I remember correctly were REALLY good.
Avatar 2:30pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

[edit; not quite a fake clergyman.. the mail-order Reverend credentials are 30+ years old & in a pile somewhere....]
  2:33pm Dean:

To this true Dean, the '90s were several hundred percent all about Western MEDIEVAL MUSIC, live and otherwise.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm Michael 98145:

[ @RTD, #metoofake ]
Avatar 2:34pm Cheri Pi:

someone say...COWS?!
Avatar 2:36pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I often say COWS. Which explains my thriving social life... or lack thereof.
Avatar 2:37pm V Priceless:

They had headbangers back then, too. Start with Clemencic Consort compilation of Troubadours and Cantigas de Santa Maria: https://www.discogs.com/Clemencic-Consort-Ren%C3%A9-Clemencic-Troubadours-Cantigas-De-Santa-Maria/release/4014682

We had angus beef cows on the farm. I named one bulky when I was a kid. She licked my hand.
Avatar 2:41pm V Priceless:

hey, if u got it (Grammy), flaunt it, especially if you're a Rock & Roll band in this day and age!
Avatar 2:45pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm Polyus:

I missed the Nick Sakes tribute there.

Happy birthday, Cheri Pi! !! !!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm Rich in Washington:

We weren't allowed to watch the Monkees in my household when I was a very small boy, so only saw tv commercials for their show and at most the opening credit sequence. I thought the premise of the show was that they were supposed to be monkeys.
Avatar 2:52pm Wild Neil:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm Rich in Washington:

oh, and

Avatar 2:52pm Wild Neil:

I watched the Monkess with my 17 year old sister when I was 3. It was awesome, it was the 70's!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I wish I had saved our Monkees comic books. Who knew?
  2:53pm Dean:

A negligible typo, Wild Neil, but Monkess is a killer band name.

I never actually saw The Monkees until they got them on Nick At Night in the mid 80s.
But Head was so damn mindblowing.
Avatar 2:58pm V Priceless:

thanks Diane - always a killer show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm chris:

yes, thank you, Diane! woohoo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Rich in Washington:

wasn't there some insidious plot to reboot the Monkees with new, young actors (or actors playing musicians or vice versa) sometime in the 90s or 00s? I seem to remember hearing something about that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm joe:
