what a great song by Alan Vega. I didn't catch on to him until recent years, but I did smash a lot of furniture in my dorm room to Fünf auf der nach oben offenen Richterskala back in the late 80s!!

Avatar 5:36pm northguineahills:

@Rev Turnip: I wasn't even aware of music until the summer after my Sophomore year of HS when I was 16. That said, when I was 18 (a few weeks before graduation) and all of the kids in AP classes took a field trip to Disney World, I lowered the pH by quite a bit, and I noticed a kid w/ a Neubauten tattoo, even though I'd never listened to them at the time, and talked to the guy and his friends.
Avatar 5:36pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

@Joe Mulligan - That was early 1984 so it was either the Record & Tape Exchange in College Park, MD or Smash Records in Georgetown, DC... No idea why I remember that clearly..
  5:37pm Clay:

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die. Roy Batty
Avatar 5:38pm Cecile:

Avatar 5:39pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

@NGH: I was one of the lucky ones. Had access to an older relative with the freaky record collection, so a lot of that education came at age 11. Total immersion. Life-changing.
  5:39pm Clay:

David Hasselhoff can't be far behind!
Avatar 5:39pm Cecile:

You know, I'm told he isn't even that big in Germany. Just for one song a long time ago.
  5:40pm Clay:

  5:41pm Freddy:

Neun und neunsich rot balloon!
  5:41pm sick girl:

love this song
  5:42pm Voorman:

Kom gib mir diene hand!
Avatar 5:43pm northguineahills:

@Rev: I still feel it's weird that in my trippy mind, I was able to pronounce them correctly even though I don't remember reading about them just by seeing the tattoo, my subconsciousness must had recorded it from somewhere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm Threemoons:

Aaaah, loving this Berlin-themed show and set. Makes me wish I had the $ to go back.
Avatar 5:44pm northguineahills:

Rev Turnip - that's clutch having access to someone to introduce you to outsider music. my older brother did that for me. college park and georgetown must have been fun back then!
