i watched that netflix short series "Wormwood".... i was not impressed overall. sesationalized and drawn-out show about the cia and lsd experimentation. lots left out i bet.
  9:06am Jeff:

Nice that JB was always name checking Bobby Byrd; would’ve been nicer if he paid him!
Good Morning and Merry Xmas y’all!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am Scraps:

Love love love that album. Thank you for not playing the Monkees cover
  9:17am 1whoknewcthulhu:

I know that this is normally Gaylord's bag, but Bob is definitely cranking tunes this morning to celebrate the winter SOULstice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17am Scraps:

(not that it’s bad; it’s the least of the songs, is all)
  9:18am WilliamfromDumont:

Morning B and all. Nice to hear the Insect Trust.
Avatar 9:18am duke:

Great set!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20am annie:

i have no idea what i'm hearing... it's not music.. it sounds like a movie; did the stream jump to something else? is this saturday? my mind is muddled this morning.
  9:24am Jeff:

Is there a Doc Rock in the house?
Avatar 9:26am duke:

@annie more caffeine is the answer
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:27am annie:

i'll try that... but the playlist does NOT match what i'm hearing. so, fine..
  9:27am WilliamfromDumont:

Kwanza was the first Shepp LP I picked up. Kind of a mixed bag with funky soul like this and free blowing like New Africa.
  9:27am Doc Rock:

Good Morning Bob + Listeners Good Soulful Sat. To All. Hey Jeff!! Breakfast Time!!
  9:29am WilliamfromDumont:

Roswell Rudd? Damn.
  9:33am DebfromSoCal:

Greetings of the season to you all! Love Bob's show on Saturday morning. My WFMU-FM sticker arrived in the post yesterday. It's on my car for all in So Cal to know about a real radio station.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:36am annie:

so, the stream jumped to the last bit of moonlight sonatas and now i'm hearing the beginning bits of jeffrey's show.. guess i'll reboot the pop-up... very odd

Re: The Flirtations — there is an LP. Title is “Nothing But a Heartache”, from 1969 on Deram.
  9:42am 1whoknewcthulhu:

THE FLIRTATIONS: check out Amazon, Bob. They list the album SOUNDS LIKE THE FLIRTATIONS with the song "Nothing but a Heartache."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43am melinda:

Used to play with a drummer from Woodstock who did pick-up gigs with Rudd playing dixieland at all the Catskill hotels.

  9:48am 1whoknewcthulhu:

Incredible to know that Laura Nyro was only 21--possibly younger--when she cut this track.
