Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm Parq:

First, do no harm.
  3:03pm nickrhombi:

- im doin' t'h funky broadway...
Avatar 3:04pm Itzall Ablurr:

The only show on WFMU so badass it has to include a Safety Message!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm rrg:

Again with the CanCon.
  3:06pm Laura L:

Who cares what happens to the vehicle, other property, or the environment if you don't follow instructions!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Now I'm curious to see what these life-threatening instructions are all about.
  3:13pm berbo:

@KenFHP - I think that's from Iriwin's Lunchables meal.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm The Oscar:

Ignore the labels and the header, and it reads like poetry.
Avatar 3:19pm Irwin:

Have to check which instructions are flagged "YOU WILL BE KILLED." Maybe: "Do not open the door for the Manson family."

Honda Hands Free Access User's Manual: http://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/pubs/AU/AH/AAM04527-33/enu/AAM04527-33.pdf, p.3.
  3:21pm Dean:

...inter alia.
  3:22pm Dean:

You simply must hear Claw Hammer's version of "Caravan."
  3:23pm Dean:

  3:24pm flashbazbo:

Irwin. Are you including "caravan with a drum sola". From freak out?
Avatar 3:25pm Irwin:

Confession: I heard Ella Fitzgerald's "vocalese" version of Caravan and it sickened.
  3:26pm Frank's Brain:

Caravan live w/theremin and assorted homemade analog electronica:
Avatar 3:26pm Monica:

Hi Irwin, still loving this dreamy Clientele track. First heard it on your show couple months ago.
Avatar 3:29pm Irwin:

Mo, the whole album is a series of miraculous masterpieces, including the piano interludes by drummer Mark Keen.
  3:30pm nickrhombi:

@irwin - sorry about the 'oscillator music' email. that was intended for fab.
Avatar 3:33pm Itzall Ablurr:

"Some time ago the family lost a fruit knife, (looked online at) ^m^3*n.com just to see this product to buy back. Surprise this product, long, lightweight design can be used for fruit, vegetables, meat cutting, extremely sharp. it is good."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm Parq:

Oscar, I.A.'s post also qualifies as found poetry.
  3:35pm Mike tp:

I seen the Clientele to a sold out show at the Mississippi studios Portland Oregon.they were pretty different from any other live act I've seen!!!I loved them!!!
  3:37pm Warwick joe:

Really loving this deja vu track
  3:38pm Laura L:

What Irwin said about the new Clientele album.
Avatar 3:39pm Itzall Ablurr:

Dear Parg, thank you. I do enjoy the occasional non-sequitur, non-ironically written review on that REALLY, really big online shopping outlet.
Avatar 3:39pm Itzall Ablurr:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm Parq:

"Parg" is how I pronounce it when I first get up in the morning.
Avatar 3:53pm Itzall Ablurr:

So it kind of makes sense that I do, being drunk at work!
  3:53pm Dean:

Je suis Charlie.
Avatar 3:54pm Lixiviated Life:

Station Manager Ken (like all managers) admired Charles Manson managerial technique and savvy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm -Ken:

It was a degree in Cult Management I was interested in, Irwin.
  3:54pm Dean:

A missed opportunity, Sly & the Family Manson
Avatar 3:55pm Irwin:

I stand corrected, Cult Manager Ken.
Avatar 3:56pm Lixiviated Life:

@Ken DOWN with the fascist management overlords!
But dude, loved your show today. (damn it)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm Carmichael:

I still have Up With People going through my head from Micah's show.
Avatar 4:06pm Hoboken Jack:

Sorry for my delay. Fr. Bronwyn and I have been out blessing turkeys.
  4:14pm Thanks:

JHLE - The nicest thing I've heard today
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm Alison Porchnik:

I just went in to my main office and they gave me sangria. (Apparently, vodka and lemonade was on the lunch menu but I stuck to my tuna sandwich.) #yourtaxdollarsatwork
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm Alison Porchnik:

apropos of nothing.
Avatar 4:19pm Irwin:

Are you clear-headed, AP? Don't go adopting any kittens while intoxicated.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm Alison Porchnik:

I'll try. Still possible we might have an extra Thanksgiving guest.
Avatar 4:21pm Aharon:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm common:

good eve!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm -Ken:

Tonight on Seven Second Delay, immediately following Irwin's program, a re-broadcast of the famous Drunk Ken episode from 12-2-10
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30pm Parq:

The Drunk Ken was done at Upright Citizens, if I remember. And that space is closing (the organization is moving uptown). chelsea.ucbtheatre.com...
  4:33pm SeanG:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36pm Carmichael:

I did not know this about the Flowers: Their recording "By the Sea" was sampled by the Welsh space rock band Super Furry Animals on a single "Hello Sunshine," which is also the opening track on the band's 2003 album Phantom Power. In 2010, French singer Laetitia Sadier of UK group Stereolab recorded "By the Sea" for release on her album, The Trip.
Avatar 4:38pm Irwin:

Wendy did some recording with James and Trish from Broadcast, but the tracks were never issued.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm common:

very ride! dig
Avatar 4:44pm Listening Out There:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:46pm Michael 98145:

i try to not think too much -
Avatar 4:56pm Hoboken Jack:

I'm dedicating this Shacks track to myself.
  4:56pm cv:

we know major Tom's a junkie
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:58pm Carmichael:

This Shacks song is on an annoying TV commercial.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00pm Carmichael:

Wow, written by Ray Davies. I did not know that, either.
Avatar 5:01pm Listening Out There:

"...segment erred in 2010..."
  5:02pm wfmu listener phillip:

Yesssss! my favorite episode of seven second delay!
  5:03pm wfmu listener phillip:

Your going to love it if you have never heard of it. ken gets so bombed he went to the hosp with alcohol poisoning
Avatar 5:05pm Irwin:

It's as embarrassing as radio can get. Embarrassment of historic proportions.
Avatar 5:06pm Listening Out There:

If Tony Williams were alive today, he'd be 72.
Avatar 5:08pm Listening Out There:

"Paraphernalia" is a rare quintet track, with the addition of George Benson...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm Michael 98145:

speaking of which, HBD to Terry Gilliam
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20pm maestroso:

I think I may have heard this in 1965.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:22pm common:

love the beer story by jean
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:22pm Michael 98145:

Shep was one of a kind
Avatar 5:23pm Jeff Moore:

I am 100% in favor of Irwin playing Shep.
Avatar 5:25pm Irwin:

There's a tons of Shep on a portable HD, Jeff, but a lot of it is infuriating because of his mic peccadilloes. Sometimes he's brilliant, sometimes you just have to shut it off. Why, it's just like WFMU!
Avatar 5:27pm Jeff Moore:

That's why we count on you to curate.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm maestroso:

My 6th grade English teacher would record JS's show on his Wollensack reel-to-reel and play it in class. I'm not sure what educational value this had, but we all enjoyed it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:34pm coelacanth∅:

my older brother used to play Jean's wor-am show at 10:pm when we were supposed to be asleep already. after maybe more than a year of doing this my parents found out and were like "...uh, hmm....okay."
Avatar 5:34pm TehBadDr:

That Cults track was very dreamy!
Avatar 5:34pm Linda Lee:

i'll never see "Wollensack" again without thinking of Ken Kesey's Wollensack meditation.
Avatar 5:36pm Linda Lee:

digressions? free association? paper shuffling? i'm there.
  5:36pm Listener Robert:

Oh, yeah, about Shep being trying at times. I'm convinced he played Jew's harp just to test listeners' patience.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37pm Carmichael:

I saw a few of his teleplays on PBS long ago. Never heard of him before that, but a fan ever since.
Avatar 5:38pm TehBadDr:

Boozy Station Manager Ken! Can't wait to hear this one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:38pm coelacanth∅:

oh, yeah...i remember the "jew's harp". not my favorite Shep moments, but the little transistor radio didn't seem to affect the fidelity of it adversely.
  5:39pm SeanG:

digging the tunes my man
Avatar 5:40pm Linda Lee:

Drunken Ken: happy or maudlin? i guess we'll find out!
Avatar 5:40pm Irwin:

Shep's kazoo solos over Dixieland LPs. Spare me.
5:43pm In Praise of Limestone Tenn:

Philip Larkin! Man I mean, man I really mean. Thank you New Jersey and WFMU.
  5:43pm Listener Robert:

Jew's harp, kazoo, kopfspielen...all to see if we'd stay loyal. I did.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm rrg:

You can't even say their name on the radio.
  5:48pm Ike the Salamander:

Ken is terribly mistaken. We actually get along quite well w/witches.
Avatar 5:49pm Linda Lee:

Some of us *are* witches.
  5:50pm Dave in Basking Ridge:

Sounds like Kristin Hersh.
Avatar 5:50pm Irwin:

Yes, of course I'll play another track by Mary.
  5:51pm Laura L:

Fine new Mary Lorson work--yes, please.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm coelacanth∅:

i always disliked Richard Thompson's lyric "she back combs her hair till she looks like a witch", even though i really like the song...i just don't get how that would be a bad thing.
Avatar 5:54pm Linda Lee:

i'd ask "which one"?
Avatar 5:56pm Linda Lee:

the witch as embodiment-of-evil-as-manifest-in-the-feminine .. well ..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm coelacanth∅:

yes of course i'll give a gold star to both tracks by Mary.
Avatar 5:59pm Linda Lee:

deeply love The Paisley Window Pane.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:00pm Michael 98145:

thanks again, Irwin
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:00pm coelacanth∅:

Linda @5.56 i've known several people who called themselves witches and most of them i do not consider "evil". there are controlling shit heads and then good ones, just like the rest of the population.
