Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm Parq:

"Going a Bit Red in Helsinki" would be a good name for a band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm The Oscar:

God, I haven't heard this in ages. The Python records were so great.

Afternoon, Scotty & all!
I'm already excited for the Thanksgiving show that I assume you will be doing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm The Oscar:

Comedy records were my gateway into record collecting. Somehow, as a teenager in the late '90s, I got hooked on Firesign Theatre and O'Donoghue-era National Lampoon, and the only way to hear that stuff at the time was to buy a turntable. Twenty years later, here I am.

If I stay off the internet, how can i get my woofmoo fix!!!!?????
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Scott Williams:

@ngh, a quandary... just stay here, you'll be good
Avatar 3:56pm david_:

always a welcome respite. greetings fmu.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm steveo:

Hellooo. I don't know much about Captain Beefheart, but whenever I hear that voice, I think, yep, that sure sounds like someone called Captain Beefheart.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm Ken From Hyde Park:

If the internet goes down for an extended time at some point (e.g., North Korea issues), there needs to be a way for folks to pass around USB sticks with 'FMU archives on them. That or some kind of Morse Code kind of thingy. Tapping out M.C. all day may yield three seconds of digitized music, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm Ken From Hyde Park:

More importantly: Hi, Scott!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm Scott Williams:

Hi Ken!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm steveo:

this freeform does not sound plain or old to me, scott

I recently bought a 2012 auto-carriage, and it's cd player plays even my cdrs that are 20 years old and scratched up. Even my vintage discmen don't play them as consistently.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm steveo:

ngh can you buy the parking lot at wfmu and leave said carriage there for patching into the board?
Avatar 4:38pm geezerette:

we have SO many little skittles packets...last year a deluge of demons, this year a dearth.
meanwhile, in the formerly REAL world...
Avatar 4:39pm northguineahills:

@steveo: I'd have to take a crazy-arsed road trip, and I'd do once I've earned enough vacay time.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:34pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...you'd think you'd have to know Eno personally to be down like this in 1973...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:36pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...we were talking about 'Forbidden Planet' in the 50s last time...I guess the Synthesizers were out of the bag by 73...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...not Synths I guess...I bet RTD could discourse on the whole Thesis...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm Scott Williams:

this is mostly EMS synthi A, pretty common in '73 thanks not just to Eno, but Dark Side of the Moon. Now they're worth a few months' rent
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41pm Bas NL:

I got a 1976 Synthi AKS..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42pm Bas NL:

But CEE sounds like a Buchla synth..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Cheers. For all my music addiction - know shockingly little about Synths.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm listener james from westwood:

Oh, yeah, the Cos served his theme music chopped and screwed!
Avatar 5:44pm northguineahills:

Just as I'm reading and article on cattle vigilantes in India...

why yes, if I focused on work, I'd could leave at a decent hour....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm Scott Williams:

Roland SH-5, ARP Odyssey, and something called a Dyna-Soar - anyone know what that is? No Buchlas herein
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm Bas NL:

Dyna-Soar? Wow.. never heard of that!
