They played Light My Fire early on at the World Series. Should have played Five to One as crowd filed out.
  11:36am choggie:

HAH! You been watching the World Series on the internet....this song
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am myron feld:

Singles remind me of kisses, albums remind me of plans — best lyric ever?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am Mike East:

I just had an inquiry last week for a synth needed for the Squeeze tour...I was bummed that we couldn't provide as our minimoog is on the repair shelf.

  11:45am Marc15:

1980 was definitely a great year for music
  11:46am Marc15:

I entered high school in 1980
  11:56am Dennis Diken:

you rule Mikey! great show!
  12:06pm Philip Shelley:

Wow. I don't play album cuts off Cool For Cats nearly enough. Love and completely forgot about this song. Also agree about the singles/album couplet. If Chris had done nothing else in his career but write those two lines in If I didn't Love You he would still have earned his rock n roll immortality. (I had to leave the room while it was playing -- just too much. What an amazing song.)
  12:08pm Mikey_B:

I don't really know anything about Squeeze but I like what I'm hearing. Thanks for showing the tunes MS.
  12:14pm GerryB:

Forgot about that shout-out to WPIX-FM in "I think I'm Go-Go." Thanks for that, Chris! Thanks to FMU for keeping that PIX spirit alive.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm radioronan:

Review in The Guardian for Chris's book has a great photo of the band in 1979 with Glen sporting a WFMU T-Shirt. www.theguardian.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm Hughie Considine:

WPIX was my intro to Squeeze and a ton of other fantastic bands. Totally formative. I was at the Clash show at the Palladium (London Calling tour) when, at intermission, it was announced that the station had changed its format. Everybody booed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49pm Hughie Considine:

Chris Difford's "Trafalgar Square" is a real gem. Maybe we could hear that one.
  12:50pm Peter K.:

Michael, your interviews are the best.
  12:50pm ?:

Have to wipe tears.
  12:52pm Baby:

Mad skills, Baby!!
12:52pm Michael from the Left Coast:

They've written a ton of great songs, but Glenn Tilbrook is right, Some Fantastic Place is their best
