I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

  12:24pm wittsend:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm steveo:

it's a jazzy looking tour if I may be so bold en.wikipedia.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm steveo:

"The tower's rich decoration reflects the wealth of its patrons, the wholesale butchers of the nearby Les Halles market. "
  12:38pm KenW:

Loving all of this> THANKS Bryce!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm Bryce:

hey, ken! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm coelacanth∅:

olá Bryce , Brycelings
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm Bryce:

halloooo :)
  12:55pm wittsend:

that's a wonderful quote. i miss living in paris for all those juxtapositions, though the current market is a shopping mall.
Avatar 1:01pm Chris from DC:

Didn't know about that tower, but it's on the list for next visit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm jkeigh:

Hey, really enjoying By Way of Odessa
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm steveo:

cool beans, chris; yeah, witts, when I was reading that wikipedia article I was thinking, "everything about Paris is just incredibly interesting, isn't it?"
Avatar 1:12pm βrian:

Crawling beneath the strange blankets. It's a little dark in here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm coelacanth∅:

i don't know why i notice these things, (maybe just because i 'm always in awe of beautiful architecture, and examine it...?) but i think it's interesting that there's little uniformity in the brickwork of that tower; as if they had the final proportions in mind and just started building it. one crew here, one crew there - and made the necessary adjustments when they got up to certain features.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm coelacanth∅:

(the lowest 2 sections are uniform....not that i'm assuming anyone else cares!)
Avatar 1:20pm βrian:

So how did the Tour Saint-Jacques sound, anyway?
  1:21pm wittsend:

we used to have a house in st tropez and lived a quiet village life but paris just wraps it all up to the phantasmagoric degree. it was fascinating for me to see how a building from hundreds of years ago could blend so seamlessly into the modern one next to it-- the modern accommodates the old, which i prefer. they make an effort to preserve the architectural aesthetics which are clearly at odds with the new york patchwork -- at least that was my impression.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm coelacanth∅:

there are some seriously ugly cities on this planet, nyc being one. it's hard for me to fully appreciate a beautiful structure like the chrysler building (or whatever it's called now) or st.patrick's cathedral with hideous frames around them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm Bryce:

i'm envious of the cataphiles
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm melinda:

I like the sounds
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30pm Bryce:

Avatar 1:34pm Chris from DC:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm coelacanth∅:

i never heard that term, Bryce - yeah that should be on more people's to-do lists.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm Michael 98145:

Most cities are becoming increasingly ugly. BTW, Les Halles is undergoing yet another -transformation-.

Today I am literally watching paint dry. Thanks for the soundtrack, B!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm Michael 98145:

i have some nori rice crackers -- made in CHINA -- which i'm almost afraid to eat
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm crateslinger:

Fridays are cool because the music back here is weird, but the guys in the shop are all from Peru with their own music that just gets louder and louder as the weekend approaches. They're dancing with hammers and singing over each other,as I'm back here with the Bryce on. Watching paint dry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Bryce:

i hope it's water-based!
  1:43pm wittsend:

@coelacanthO, im exaggerating but the structure (st pats) has Club Fitch (with it's half naked caryatids flanking the entrance) on one end and the national debt clock on the other. money money money and sanctity in precious little.
Avatar 1:45pm Chris from DC:

You can just play this on endless loop, thanks.
Avatar 1:45pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

[looks up 'caryatid'] .. ah that makes more sense. I was envisioning an architectural feature of half-naked locust-like creatures...
Avatar 1:46pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

..which of course would be marvelous.
  1:47pm convoy_pt2:

Friday afternoons on FMU suckkkkkkkkkkkkkkk mix up the surface noise and other filler crap with palatable music blues punk funk metal jazz songs christ!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm crateslinger:

  1:53pm wittsend:

it always seems to me that the people traveling across this planet just to go to stores like that look like they are waiting in a ration line to get mere crumbs of bread. the look on their faces... that being said, to each his or her own...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm crateslinger:

Nice Brian. That's real finishin'! I'm just banging out pedestals for the armory show in Manhattan. White cubes to put stuff on for eyeballs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm coelacanth∅:

Rev TD @1.45 & 1.46 haha!
... but i prefer my locust-like creatures to be fully nude.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm crateslinger:
