Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03pm gloomsday:

evening, everyone! so ready for some NN. i hope you're feeling better this week, jesse.
Avatar 7:05pm Jesse Kaminsky:

Hey gloomsday! Yeah, I'm just dealing with the very tail end of this cold today so almost completely gone.
Avatar 7:05pm Jesse Kaminsky:

I can also report that the hot and sour soup last week was truly terrible!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07pm gloomsday:

good to hear you're feeling better. i'm in the exact same recovery boat, myself. still have a pretty gnarly cough that keeps people at a distance, but that's about all that's hanging on.
Avatar 7:08pm Jesse Kaminsky:

yeah pretty much. everyone still thinks I'm sick so trying to use that to my advantage some how
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11pm melinda:

I live in the Swamp (TM).
Avatar 7:33pm Jesse Kaminsky:

Hey northguineahills! Sorry for all the water sounds tonight, how's Florida doing?
Avatar 7:36pm northguineahills:

(The swamp is the nickname of where the Florida Gators play)

Power lines all seem to be up, roads are all open, still plenty of debris left to be picked up. Oddly enough, we've only had a trace of rain since Irma, she took all of the moisture north w/ her (it usually rains everyday from May-Oct).
Avatar 7:38pm Jesse Kaminsky:

Ironic if a drought followed I guess. Glad to hear things are kind of back to normal though!
Avatar 7:39pm Parq:

Meanwhile, back in the States ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44pm gloomsday:

oh wow i love paul's artwork. the piece "blues for tomorrow" is gorgeous.
Avatar 7:44pm geezerette:

What's the animal/suction sound?
Avatar 7:46pm Jesse Kaminsky:

hey geezerette! I don't know about the sounds in particular but he wrote a bunch about this piece here: unfathomless.bandcamp.com...
Avatar 7:47pm geezerette:

Thanks, Jesse!
Avatar 7:48pm northguineahills:

ahh, I was hoping for a jaguar god condemned to fall into an endless pit.
Avatar 7:49pm Jesse Kaminsky:

He doesn't say that it isn't ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Avatar 7:51pm northguineahills:

good point, I need to look up garifuna shamanism, and look for the spirit/god I want.
Avatar 7:55pm Jesse Kaminsky:

They'll probably find you though
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:05pm coelacanth∅:

Now that my finances are nearly normal, I can finally renew my Wire subscription which expired August 2016. It also means in Nov I will finally be able to donate WFMU again.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:34pm gloomsday:

Avatar 8:36pm Jesse Kaminsky:

Also @northguineahills, thanks for reminding me that I have to mention the silent fundraiser that's coming up in the month of October!
Avatar 8:47pm Jesse Kaminsky:

This Orgue De Bois is a pretty amazing looking instrument: prelerecords.net...
Avatar 8:51pm northguineahills:

It looks amazing just to play!
Avatar 8:52pm northguineahills:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:52pm gloomsday:

that's so incredibly rad!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:59pm melinda:

That's a cool instrument, indeed!
Avatar 9:15pm still b/p:

I liked the traack from Ploy. Not to be confused with ploye, which we have for breakfast sometimes 'round Maine and eastern Canada....Acadian-ish.
Avatar 9:17pm Jesse Kaminsky:

Hi still b/p! How have I not had ploye yet, wonder if there's anywhere in boston I can get me some or too far south/
Avatar 9:22pm still b/p:

Amazon some o' that mix and griddle up some of those rascals in your kitchen! Or pick up the ployes mix in some Whole Foods and other places in your region.

"Traack" looks like a Dutch-ish word.
Avatar 9:28pm Jesse Kaminsky:

ahhh, that's the list I needed!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30pm Doug Schulkind:

Noisy neighbor good. Nosy neighbor bad. Good evening neighborheads!
Avatar 9:34pm Jesse Kaminsky:

Evening Doug!
Avatar 9:39pm still b/p:

The landlord's son moved in upstairs. If he's a noisy neighbor, how's that gonna go?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:40pm Doug Schulkind:

You tell her or him to turn it up up up, still b/p!
Avatar 9:58pm northguineahills:

Thanks Jesse!
Avatar 9:58pm geezerette:
