Evening, Kim and all! Congrats on surviving the first day back!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:06pm doctorjazz:

Back to school much earlier than Ny/NJ.
Hi Kim!
Spent last weekend in Eastern Kentucky, beautiful country (my daughter, who is a musical theater actress, was in a show at the Jenny Willey Theatre, was fun to see her) .
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08pm KimSorise:

We do start early in KY - Indiana has been back for nearly 2 weeks. Glad you Enjoyed your visit to Eastern KY. It is beautiful country. Welcome all! Enjoy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11pm doctorjazz:

It is truly gorgeous there, but, if you weren't outdoors, there's precious little to do there. And food? They had everything you could want, as long as you want deep fried stuff (highlight:deep fried Nutella).

Phil Ranelin not a familiar name, like the track!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15pm KimSorise:

So very true, doctorjazz. Phil Ranelin was a Detroit trombonist who recorded for the Tribe label - played a lot with Wendell Harrison, Marcus Belgrave, David Durah - early to mid-70s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16pm KimSorise:

Rather is - he is still very much alive and giggin'. I believe he is in LA now, but he plays at home semi-regularly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27pm doctorjazz:

Cool Aretha version of this, love it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm KimSorise:

Thanks - I have been playing that record a lot lately... It's been a while and she sounds so good. It may be a favorite next to Young, Gifted & Black.
