  12:30am Tidy666:

Morning Mr Conklin and listeners...just wanted to extend my thanks to the ghetto for putting me on a MV&ee feast this week!all my taped over books on tape from the dump with all that meandering rural psych...no wonder I split at the seems!thanks gain!
Avatar 12:31am Jeff Conklin:

@Tidy66: You put MV & EE jams on books-on-tape tapes?
  12:33am Tidy666:

Yeah man...they are like 43ish minutes per side.slightly inferior tape quality but it kinda adds to the vibe!
Avatar 12:34am Jeff Conklin:

What is the source you dubbed them from?
  12:34am zenkoan:

What is the sound of one bong smoking? (in a good way)
Trad, Gras, Och, Stenar
  12:38am Tidy666:

Borrowed stack of LPs and CDs...and even the box set...its kinda like a new deadtape ocd thing.kinda.I'm just older, less wise and poorer than when I started collection dead boots pre internet.
Avatar 12:40am Jeff Conklin:

@Tidy666: That's awesome man. FYI: Their boots on Bandcamp are NICE PRICE as well as the CDRs they sell here: mvandee.blogspot.com
  12:45am Tidy666:

Avatar 12:56am BEAVO:

Great set Jeffrey Davidson sent out Ripple to you yesterday morning in case you hadn't heard.
Avatar 12:58am Jeff Conklin:

@Beavo: Ah! I love Jeff but I havent heard the show this week yet.
Avatar 12:59am BEAVO:

The dude on the homepage, isn't that the Warhol's guy on the cover of Sticky Fingers?
Avatar 1:04am BEAVO:

I'll bet you can find N Korea on map!
  1:07am J Dream:

Please don't play Phis-phew!!
Avatar 1:08am Jeff Conklin:

@J Dream: I'll play whatever I want. Thank you.
Avatar 1:08am BEAVO:

Jerry is on IICORMN as well. Dino's real name of course is Chet Powers.
  1:10am Vincent Nifigance:

Fellow party stereo conqueror checking in.
  1:10am J Dream:

I was teasing. Someone did the "I'll tell ya later" the other night and it was Phish. It was actually phunny. Didn't mean to offend!
  1:10am BEAVO:

  1:11am J Dream:

And please, by all means: play whatever you want. It's the reason I tune in every week. PEACE
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12am tuner fish:

Wow, just got here in time for DARK STAR!
Avatar 1:13am ocean:

Hello from the great State of Oregon (pre-solar-eclipse)
  1:13am MONEYBAG$:

you know what they say, it's always dark star somewhere
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15am tuner fish:

Moneybag$, that sounds like a name for a craft beer, lol. "I'll have the "It's Always Dark Star Somewhere" Stout, please."
Avatar 1:15am Jeff Conklin:

2J Dream: Ha. No worries, man, just busting balls.
  1:21am MONEYBAG$:

yeah Phil
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23am Aitch:

Jeff actually prefers Muse's Dark Star, he's just not saying..Hey JC, I got the sort and the book, much appreciated.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23am Aitch:

  1:24am J Dream:

@ocean I may be headed eclipse-bound to Oregon from LA next weekend
  1:26am J Dream:

*ive actually heard Phish on FMU a few times in recent weeks. Once on Dave Hill's show, even.
Avatar 1:28am Jeff Conklin:

I'm sure Jesse Jarnow has played some Phish on here. I didn't know Dave Hill played music
  1:31am MONEYBAG$:

I think Jesse was banned from playing Phish/Dead for awhile but that may have been lifted, he played a Trey solo track recently
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32am Ike:

Most Dead makes me want to plotz but this isn't completely terrible. They weren't too high to play their instruments this time! LOL j/k, don't kill me. I like this little semi-avant-garde digression a lot, actually.
  1:33am J Dream:

Haha it was actually Jesse's sub this week that pulled the old "I'm not gonna tell ya what it is til later", and sprang the Phish. So maybe it was premeditated.
  1:34am J Dream:

Maybe he's got Dave working for him too! Seeding Phish throughout the schedule
  1:35am J Dream:

Think Dave just plays the jams when he needs to freshen up
Avatar 1:49am Jeff Conklin:

Wish they did Dark Star > Jack Straw more, I believe this is the only one...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50am tuner fish:

I want them to go into "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" with Crosby. I bet the Dead would play a great version of that!
  1:56am Matt W:

Long summer vacation now over here in the North, so back to live morning-listening. Thanks as always, Jeff!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56am Aitch:

Wake up Jeff!
  1:58am nickrhombi:

a friend of mine brought me to see the dead with his sister in 84 or 85.(garden... meadowlands... cant recall.) there was a guy there who was pressing a balloon against my face and saying, 'feel the bass, man.. feel the bass...' - i seem to recall some excitement over the fact that 'garcia was doing space'. (?) a fact that seemed to excite all in attendance.
  2:00am brubru:

jack straw is so dank
Avatar 2:02am Jeff Conklin:

@Aitch ?
  2:12am Johnny Sal:

Yes Lake Mary! One of my favorite artists I can say I discovered directly thru this show. Thanks Jeff
  2:34am flashbazbo:

But the dead should just not do Merle haggard.
Avatar 2:36am Jeff Conklin:

Couldn't disagree more, I love them doing SMBH
Avatar 2:38am Jeff Conklin:

I could do without them ever doing any straight blues after Pigpen departed though.
  12:30pm JD:

Love that Bronco song, best thing they did on that Country Home LP in my opinion.
  11:05am Lucky:

Another great show. I was away for a week, so now I'm catching up - makes going back to work not so bad.
