Yes, very much so, as Maude Lewis lived not more than a 30 minute drive from this very house. Even know a retired judge who bought her blank canvasses and commissioned pictures over a twenty year span. Quite the collection.

Avatar 9:28am Sem Chumbo:

@BiUK: Naturally, those in the blue collar fishing town of Digby are divided on the, ahem, artistic license taken with the subject, but one and all adored Maud. Rather less her hubby, a bit of an arsehole to be generous about it.

As a copyeditor, one of the funniest mistakes I corrected recently involved bullet points, and looked like this:
• Bonzo Dog Doo
• Dah Band
I mean, how could someone get that so wrong? Ha!
Avatar 10:39am Bill Mac:

@Ike I know I could!
  10:40am KP:

Nice one, Ike. I would have changed it to The Band.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:45am Mick:

Nice Monday surprise - thanks for the Sam Ulano (and, well, the whole show)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:46am Ike:

In the "Doo-Dah" period, apparently they were repeatedly part of a TV show, Do Not Adjust Your Set, that was a precursor to Monty Python and involved a lot of the same people.
Avatar 10:46am Bill Mac:

Tank ewe Mick! Happy Monday!

Swag For Life Member 10:52am tadpoles:

You are correct #Ike.... great English TV....the Bonzos did a song every episode. Great avatar you have by the way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53am pantz:

Love me some Wilson Pickett
Avatar 10:53am CDToaster:

@Ike: That's funny (and sad). Less funny is the error on the rear cover of the reissued "Daughters of Albion" self-titled CD, track #1, "I Love Her and She Loves My" which some moron changed to "I Love Her and She Loves Me." That error was so easily NOT detected, that it carried over to the Allmusic website database where the error was perpetuated. Sad state of affairs these days with the generally illiterate masses.
Avatar 10:53am Bill Mac:

Yeah the avatar was pointed out to me yesterday... your cat?

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57am Ike:

This is just a random funny GIF I found on the web. My cat is old and doesn't play anymore, or stick her head in my footwear anymore, as cats sometimes do. That's what's so funny about this to me. Some cats just love shoes.
  10:57am paul:

Bonzos were the highlight of Magical Mystery Tour.
Avatar 10:59am Waking Bacon:

Good Vibes! :) Great set!
Avatar 11:00am w41:

Bill have you ever played Pachuco Cadaver on the air? Bring in the Replica!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03am Parq:

Another Waits tour would be cool, but let's hope that this time, he won't just play four cities in red states.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04am Ike:

I must admit I don't know the whole Capt. Beefheart catalog. Is that his most normal-sounding song? That was disturbingly normal. I'm upset now. LOL.
Avatar 11:06am w41:

I'd say this album is the most... conventional, yes.
  11:06am paul:

Play the weird B. Goldsboro song from the Burt Box.

X-Ray Spex was a personal influence on me, in a number of ways, to a greater extent than any other punk or post-punk band I can think of. That said, great to hear Essential Logic too.
