Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm Cooh John:

When I heard Marshall sing Sheila with LSJ, I thought Buddy was in the room
  4:08pm MFlynn:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm Cooh John:

  4:13pm medson:

Greeting Todd and everyone.
  4:16pm MFlynn:

I think "Field Day" is one of my Top 10 favorite albums.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm Kelly Dustjacket:

Great show! I was listening to Field Day earlier today on a bike ride up the Hudson and under the GWB, a perfect sunny day record. Thanks Marshall and Thanks Todd!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm Cooh John:

I give this test pressing an A+.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

To me, the most accessible Abbachoon (cause it's sad).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

(...& a bit powerchordy...)
  4:19pm mister C:

yeah I thought Sheila sounded exactly like Buddy H ( and also Ritchie Valens in a few spots)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

BuddyHolly - Moses of PowerPop. BobbyFuller also an acolyte...
  4:21pm Marc15:

One of my favorite songs in High School was "Someday, Someway." I had the lyrics memorized
  4:22pm SeanG:

hell yeah!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- & here is where MarshallCrenshaw apotheosizes.
  4:24pm maggiemaggie:

Whenever you're on my mind is one of my favorite songs of all-time
  4:24pm MFlynn:

@Whenever you're on my mind" is a pop masterpiece! Great show Todd!
Swag For Life Member 4:25pm maggiemaggie:

I have the 45!
  4:25pm Lawdy Miss Clawdy:

"every time I see your punim"
  4:29pm Listener Robert:

This is the impressive thing about WFMU DJs: that they know better than the artists such details as who's covered their compositions.
  4:29pm kelly:

Whenever You're On my My Mind is a beautiful track.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- oh that's right - I saw Marshall w/ DKT/MC5. Now I know why.
  4:42pm AWS:

MC''s tribute show to his dad was touching and of course entertaining.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm charbird:

Hey Ho, Charlie from CA checking in – finally! Moving sucks!! But now I'm joining the party! Greetings, all.
Avatar 4:49pm geezerette:

complete coolness.
Avatar 4:54pm geezerette:

There's so much energy and optimism in Detroit Pop.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59pm Matt in Nebraska:

Awesome show! I was fortunate to see one of those DKT/MC5 shows w/ Marshall Crenshaw. I thought it was a great show.
  5:01pm hi:

  5:02pm Kelly Dustjacket:

This new one is sweet. Nice guitars!
  5:07pm dano59:

I love the Marshall diaspora ...
Avatar 5:22pm geezerette:

Irwin plays Tom Wilson shows from the sixties. Fascinating stuff.
  5:23pm mister:

Robin--stein !
Avatar 5:24pm geezerette:

Todd, your interviews are so damn good.
Avatar 5:24pm DonJuanTijuana:

WOW! I had no idea how cool Marshall Crenshaw is!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:25pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

All this around the revelation of Dion' 'Kickin' Child' implies rewriting the history of FolkRawk (!); Wilson evidently the connecting figure of so much. Him independently adding electric instruments to S&G's 'Sounds of Silence' is sometimes noted as the Birth moment of it...
Avatar 5:28pm geezerette:

RevRab, mind blowing info nugget!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I think it's hard to get the balance right w/ PowerPop. MarshallCrenshaw obviously has melodic potential of the highest order - stays guitar-based...& gets a clear rich sound w/out overproducing it into phony featurelessness (it sounds good).
Avatar 5:35pm Irwin:

MC: Great co-hostification. Thanks for all your Tom Wilsonianism. See you soon.
Avatar 5:35pm geezerette:

yeah, beautiful voice as well.
Avatar 5:39pm Olivia Greene:

I've been diggin' the show in New Orleans. Tuned in late, so I look forward to catching the first part later.
  5:41pm KP:

Great interview, Todd!
  5:43pm KP:

Cool to hear about Irwin's influence on project.
  5:45pm gregory:

How does Marshall feel about being affiliated with the enemy -WFMU?
Avatar 5:47pm geezerette:

Holly such a wellspring.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Always felt the Buddy-Beatles connection was an immediate & direct transfer of spirit. They hit many of the identical triggers in my brain.
Avatar 5:51pm geezerette:

Avatar 5:52pm geezerette:

It's primal.
  5:52pm listener #126464:

Thanks Todd, Marshall!
