I gotta know: was your bow-tie Sunday night tied, or one of those "ready made" jobs.
Asking for a friend.
Avatar 12:07pm Brian in UK:

Hello Bill 'n Sem. Prefer rollups to ready mades.
  12:08pm Stanlez:

Roll up, roll up.
Avatar 12:09pm Sem Chumbo:

Hiya, BiUK. So nice here I've hung a wash out on the line.
  12:09pm Bill Mac:

You guys aren't hearing me at the moment. The Drummer radio stream has a stranglehold on the airwaves! Will try and fix it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm doctorjazz:

Hearing Monk first, now Salsa, guess it is Zero Zero so far...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12pm doctorjazz:

That explains the empty track list...
Avatar 12:13pm Brian in UK:

Sem we washed the curtains today.
Anyone else got some exciting domestic action?
Avatar 12:13pm Sem Chumbo:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm doctorjazz:

That's more like it.
Avatar 12:14pm Brian in UK:

Bill, sounds like you are blowing off.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15pm doctorjazz:

I walked the dog...
Have major computer repairs to get to, no sound out of my PC (which I use to listen to music quite a bit). My antivirus seems to have done something to damage sound output.
Avatar 12:16pm Brian in UK:

I just went to check the first MotoGP practice in Qatar. It has been rain delayed. In the frigging desert.
  12:17pm Stanlez:

Welcome back Bill. I'm still aglow from the marathon success. Didn't we do well?
Avatar 12:18pm Brian in UK:

Got one more week before I retire. Would you Adam & Eve it.
  12:20pm Stanlez:

Go Brian. That's amazing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm doctorjazz:

Jealous, don't think I" m ever retiring...Congratulations Brian!
Avatar 12:20pm Bill Mac:

You guys were on it the last few weeks... The current lot of DJs passions really connected with you folks... Thanks again!!!
Avatar 12:22pm Brian in UK:

Daytime TV here I come. Over my dead carcass.

Bill, liked your take on the Hoof 'n Mouf.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm doctorjazz:

I thought it was great FMU did so great considering the panic over the loss of JM in the AM revenue that preceeded the Marathon.
Avatar 12:24pm Bill Mac:

No kidding DJ.... backs against the wall from here on in. This should give Ken the breathing room needed to hone that morning space into something really viable
Avatar 12:27pm Sem Chumbo:

Back in sync w/ the tunes.

Could feel the situation's desperation but the determination it drove was palpable. Great team effort right around the schedule.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Nice day for some Zzzzzzero.
  12:30pm Stanlez:

I was a bit nervous during the marathon, especially the middle of the second week and hearing that there was a Plan B in case if financial ruin. Then Friday, boy did things pick up, incredible work from everyone.
Avatar 12:31pm Brian in UK:

Sem, have you read much Italian literature from the last century or before? Suddenly got the urge to read some apart from Alberto Moravia.
  12:31pm Bill Mac:

Ahhhh back to normal....
Avatar 12:33pm Brian in UK:

Bill, play the flip of this single. Wilomena is plump and round.
  12:35pm Bill Mac:

Figures it's not on the album.... I'll see if I can track it down
Avatar 12:36pm Sem Chumbo:

Ignorant of that literature milieu entirely, Brian. Expect to hear whether the exercise is fruitful :-O
Avatar 12:37pm Brian in UK:

Andy Newman wrote it, bit of a polka fan.
Avatar 12:38pm Brian in UK:

Pete Townshend kind of put it together.
Avatar 12:40pm Sem Chumbo:

Close family member & family posted (military) to the Oxford area for the next 4 years. Looks like numerous trips to Dear Old Blighty in the offing, BiUK.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm Scraps:

h'lo hey
Avatar 12:42pm Brian in UK:

Sem, bluddy great. Oxford only one hour away.
  12:44pm Stanlez:

Greetings from the Canaries. My choice of holiday read is a 19th Century Russian novel. As expected it's a dense read but a useful balance to the sun and sangria scene
Avatar 12:44pm Brian in UK:

Last time I saw her she had just had a baby. About three years agoish.
Avatar 12:45pm Brian in UK:

Stanlez just pointed Alice, youngest daughter, towards the Sholokov Cossack novels. Wonderful reading.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm Scraps:

Hm. If they think it's important what the song is about, I'll listen. Probably won't get in the way of my listening to the song. Just me, of course
Avatar 12:46pm Brian in UK:

Some say Doetoeffsky is the greatest. Some say Ethel Merman.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm Scraps:

Unless they're singing about their love for D Trump... there are limits
  12:47pm Bill Mac:

Did someone say Ethel Merman?
Avatar 12:47pm Sem Chumbo:

Been away from the Russians since a no-holds-barred cage match with The Brothers Kamarazov.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm Scraps:

Ethel! Merman!
Avatar 12:48pm Brian in UK:

I was referring to Ether the Aardvark going Quantity Surveying.
Avatar 12:48pm Sem Chumbo:

Loved that sketch.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm Scraps:

I liked Merman already, but her appearance in Airplane sealed it
Avatar 12:49pm Brian in UK:

You say Ether
I say Ethel
Avatar 12:49pm Sem Chumbo:

I'd say it's the Ether talking.
Avatar 12:50pm Brian in UK:

Sem, make that Peroni speak.
Avatar 12:52pm Sem Chumbo:

Watney's Red Barrel speaks like the prophets of old, by my way of drinking.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm Scraps:

The Fall-uh!
Avatar 12:56pm Sem Chumbo:

Door to door fish salesman here, back shortly.
Avatar 12:56pm Brian in UK:

Sem, the old Watneys joke.
Drinking Watneys is like making love in a punt
F**king close to water.
  12:56pm Bill Mac:

  12:56pm Bill Mac:

@Sem - I was just going to say that
  1:01pm Stanlez:

I've got a very dodgy WiFi connection here. Commenting is difficult but the music is coming through. Keeping the phones in but it's dinner time and can't miss out on that. Later everyone
  1:04pm Bill Mac:

Hey Stanley, we'll catch up next time! See u!

@RW Heyoo!!
Avatar 1:05pm Brian in UK:

Bill, how long is the meter running today.
  1:06pm Bill Mac:

I'm on for another 2 hours - 3pm EDT
Avatar 1:16pm Sem Chumbo:

Totally worth it, couple of pounds of scallops that "fell off the back of the quota."
Avatar 1:19pm Bill Mac:

We have nothing remotely like a fish truck in these parts
Avatar 1:20pm Brian in UK:

Sweet Sem.
Plaice tonight over here. Cannot get those smoked crevettes anymore.
Avatar 1:21pm fred:

Hello Bill, I'm just dropping by before hauling myself to the last show of Sonic Protest. I took the two weeks off, yet I'm so tired I'm thinking about not going
Avatar 1:23pm Bill Mac:

Hey Fred,
Been there, there's always a part of me that regrets those opporunities... last show too? Hmmmm....
Avatar 1:23pm Brian in UK:

Hey fred, take it steady my friend.
Avatar 1:25pm Sem Chumbo:

@Bill: the over-regulated fishermen hereabouts regularly show up w/ lobster, the now-rare halibut, and scallops, clandestinely in that country way, i.e., everybody knows who and what and where.

Yah, fred, steady on, old trout.
Avatar 1:25pm Brian in UK:

Never had a chance to check out any Sinhalese sounds when we were over there. This is a rare comp.
Avatar 1:25pm fred:

I saw Wolf Eyes so many times, and Scorpion Violente too. The first set looks worth denying old age for another day though: I don't know anything about them
Avatar 1:27pm Brian in UK:

Odd the singer does not have at least ten syllables in their name like most Sri Lankans.
Avatar 1:29pm Sem Chumbo:

Dalhousie University student radio(Halifax, NS) had a Sunday afternoon 2-hour show dedicated to the music of Sri Lanka for years and years, coinciding with the hours I worked at my shop in the city. Heard a lot of Sinhalese spins over the years.
Avatar 1:31pm fred:

@Brian in UK: In my first college year, a math teacher was from Madagascar. He wrote his name on the blackboard (yes, I'm that old) and hinted we'd better not get it wrong. Yes, he was joking
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm doctorjazz:

Fred, you can do it (passed on 2 shows myself this week for fatigue or "peace in the household "reasons,, though, can understand it).
Avatar 1:34pm fred:

@doctorjazz: don't worry, I'm totally doing it. These guys at least once kept the #1 ticket number for me (one is questionable) so I'd better show up
  1:43pm rw:

It's SO hard to sit here on a beautiful Saturday working on the computer. Thanks Mr. Mac for helping keep me indoors. I really need to get this crap done!
Avatar 1:43pm Brian in UK:

Do the Jerk.
Avatar 1:43pm fred:

@doctorjazz: Didn't you have your wedding anniversary this week? I hope you celebrated that enough to be out of it for a couple of days
Avatar 1:46pm Bill Mac:

@rw I'll try to stay out of your way....
Avatar 1:47pm Sem Chumbo:

Very Broadway delivery here. I'm enjoying it. Do not know why.
Avatar 1:48pm Brian in UK:

Loving the mix, Bill. Domestics calling.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm Mrs Stanley:

Good late afternoon/early eve gentlemen including my husband Stanlez who is away from home!
  1:49pm melinda:

In time for the last 10 minutes, hi
Avatar 1:49pm Bill Mac:

Hiya Missus! When did Stan start spellin his name properlike?
Avatar 1:50pm Bill Mac:

Hi Mel! Glad you cud make it!
Avatar 1:50pm Sem Chumbo:

Hello, Mrs. Stanley, good to see you here,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm Mrs Stanley:

dont ask me Bill, I'm the last to know anything! I wish you had done a premium for the marathon
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm Mrs Stanley:

thanks sem and apologies if you are not a gnetleman
Avatar 1:52pm Brian in UK:

Hello Viccy. Some quiet time then?
Avatar 1:52pm Sem Chumbo:

Melinda, I have a spare "M" if you'd like to use it :-D

Mrs. S, a wild colonial boy, am I.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm Mrs Stanley:

hi brian, yup, its sepulchrally quiet without the boss. Sorry Sem - I never know who is a man/woman/beyond the binary..
Avatar 1:54pm Sem Chumbo:

...beyond the binary, hehe, I like that expression.
  1:55pm melinda:

I'm not sure why I chose to spell my name with the lowercase m. I think I was really tired.
Avatar 1:55pm Brian in UK:

Bill. Enjoying Will Rogers writings right now. A man after my own heart in his style. Think you need him now.
Avatar 1:55pm Bill Mac:

To lazy to lift a capital M Tsk tsk...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm doctorjazz:

@Fred, yeah, it was my 25th anniversary (got an offer for free Wilco tix that night, which I passed on), did go or for a lovely dinner, but celebrate quietly these days (will take off time to go with the missus to an inn later on...).
Avatar 1:56pm Brian in UK:

Texting tiredness takes its toll tellingly. I know do not end with an adverb.
Avatar 1:57pm Bill Mac:

@Brian Retirement is going to treat you very well methinks....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58pm Mrs Stanley:

ah the organs...good eve to all you good people. laters B & B

Thanks Bill, and please consider a regular show someday
Avatar 1:59pm Sem Chumbo:

@BiUK: overlapping Will Rogers career was that of Kin Hubbard.
His gem, to my mind, "It is no crime to be poor in America, but it might as well be."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm doctorjazz:

Great, got the phone, mobile app, headphones, go Bill!
Avatar 2:00pm Sem Chumbo:

Later, I guess, Mrs. S!
  2:01pm melinda:

I once got an email from a state employee named John Entwistle.
Avatar 2:01pm Brian in UK:

Think it was DJ Kenny Everett that first coined the name Beeb. He would have sat well on this station.
Thanks Sem.

Avatar 2:21pm Bill Mac:

I heard a live recording of this last week.... makes that stage fright claim of Andy's sound kind of lame....

Avatar 2:51pm Brian in UK:

Hello David, do your clocks go forward tonight?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm David D:

Yes, Brian - yours too I believe? In any case it will make it easier to synchronize my show again...
Avatar 2:56pm Brian in UK:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Doug Schulkind:

Bill, you can stay on until 9am tomorrow. But not a minute more.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm doctorjazz:

Sounds like a plan, 9am it is...
Avatar 3:02pm Sem Chumbo:

Add 78 more hours, and I think it was 43 seconds, and you'll beat Glen Jones' World Record, Bill. Go for it.
Avatar 3:02pm Bill Mac:

If that's the case I'm about 16 hours short on material
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm David D:

I just need to calculate what time 9am is here after we change the clocks...
Avatar 3:03pm Sem Chumbo:

Hum, Bill, Just hum. You know how to hum, right?
