Just finished a Reese's-themed donut, now ready for a fantastic show and the legendary Chris White!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm charbird:

Greetings, Todd! Zombies rule! Let's start this party!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm Gaylord Fields:

Phil and the Frantics must run when they see Chris White's lawyer!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm charbird:

@Hoboken Jack: Is that a donut with Reese's pieces on top? Sounds good!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Board up the windows! Call your friends!
...What I read in Mojo was TheBeatles were doing Pepper in AbbeyRd. - PinkFloyd was doing their legendary debut 'Piper @ the Gates of Dawn' down the hall
...& right after TheBeatles finished & left - TheZombies wander in & tell the Engineers to stop taking apart the four-track tape machines they had linked together to do Pepper - & TheZombies commenced to do - 'Odessey&Oracle' !! Basically true??
How does he feel about their influence on the doors (yes I went there in Todd's comments)
...ZOMBIES ! Wow.
Avatar 3:13pm Marc Francis:

It's been a while! Finally have a Saturday afternoon off! I've missed the Todd-o-Phonicness!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm Your Ace From Exchange Place:

Chris White on Todd-o-phonic makes me feel good!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Said before - Buckinghams cover 'Make Me Feel Good'...real...good. Love the whole 1st album in fact.
Avatar 3:21pm Hoboken Jack:

@charbird: It was a chocolate donut, split in half with some peanut butter spread in the middle, then some crumbled Reese's on top. Oh it was good.
  3:22pm Dennis Diken:

yeah Todd, this is super exciting! great covers. can't wait to hear the Chris White interview! I did a piece on Hugh Grundy for Modern Drummer mag last year. Indeed, he's one of the great overlooked drummers of all time!
  3:23pm Cooh John:

Hello TOPT, WFMUers, zombies, et. al. This is the year, the station, and the show.

Sooooo excited for this interview!!
Avatar 3:29pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Interview coming up after this set!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

If TheZombies ever made an Artistic misstep, I'm not aware of it...unless you count breaking up immediately after making their Masterpiece.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm Frank Above:

Another great thing about Todd's interviews is that he plays a ton of that person's songs before the interview to get you psyched up for it.
Avatar 3:37pm glenn:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm Tommy in Neversink:

In terms of musical sophistication ,The Zombies were miles ahead of all the other British Invasion bands
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I may have mentioned this before, but in college, our friend Garth would call the local rock station just about every day to request "Time of the Season."
  3:38pm Claudialily:

Yaaaay! Loving this Zombies marathon I'm definitely psyched!!!
  3:40pm lanceromance02:

Now im in the mood to hear some kinks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm Tommy in Neversink:

Time of the Season is so seductively compelling ..and so well constructed .They really got the dynamics thing down
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

'Changes' off Oracle is one of the most beautiful things ever by anyone. Top20 Albums Ever. My Gratitude.
  3:42pm lanceromance02:

Avatar 5:54pm Hoboken Jack:

I hope McPherson superfan and voice of the SF Giants Jon Miller is tuned in!
5:57pm woh oh um dup diddy dum dum do be do dum dum:

Why'd The Yearning disband 3 years ago? Apathy? Soothing girl group sound.
8:21am woh do be do dum dum:

Hooked on "Everybody Knows (I'm Still In Love With You)" by girl-group sound in today's show, The Yearnings

THE YEARNINGS is a project of Brit Joe Moore, featuring young singer Maddie Dobie, on Spain's Elefant Records, specializing in such acts (like The Primitives). Not sure it's her in each video, but the voice could be. They released a drastically different album last year, of slow light or beautiful music. Their earlier stuff is better. Moore's project with another singer also had some 5-digit-view success, but his '85 keyboard latest isn't worth mentioning.
