Rock on Todd!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm Parq:

Today's show is going to be neat. I saw Tommy R at -- this is true -- a two-day rock festival in a parking lot at a Paramus NJ mall in the early 70s when I was a sophomore in high school. I remember him doing 'Sweet Pea' in particular. He was playing a strat and had a small band behind him. The effect was kind of like his greatest hits played by a local garage band -- but in a good way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm Alison Porchnik:

I recently told a classmate about the Cramps. He was "interested in 80s music and had never heard of them -- or most of the bands I listened to then. I feel old.
Avatar 3:20pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Who else will never forget the 1st time they heard a Cramps album??
  3:20pm Stevel:

Wicked opening set!
  3:22pm Claudialily:

Benn really digging this set from the get go!!!
Avatar 3:23pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

George !
  3:24pm Mike Flynn:

Is that George singing???
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm Gaylord Fields:

@Mike Flynn: Yes, it is.
Avatar 3:26pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Contractual obligation for the Fabs - a late return to Hamburg. Pretty sure. Very interesting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:30pm Frank Above:

what's wrong with my speakers? oh....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm Power Papi:

You gotta ask Tommy what he whispers in the girl's ear at 1:42 of this video of "Sweet Pea":
Avatar 3:33pm Hoboken Jack:

"On the Bus" by the Replacements has a similar opening to "Everybody."
  3:39pm Claudialily:

Wooooo!!! This might be the best sunshine pop song for these gloomy winter days!!!! I freakin love this album!!!!
Avatar 3:40pm MattBelow:

Cannot wait for Chris White! HERO!
  3:41pm Claudialily:

This cover is amazing!!!
Avatar 3:43pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

A busy day...Tommy Roe, Wyldife, Screaming Females and more!
Avatar 3:43pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Know 'You Make Me Feel Good' from great cover on Buckingham's 1st album. (...better than ThuhHits...) It's fun on gittar...OMG a Zombie's coming!! Board up the windows & cancel appointments...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Forgot how great this song is. And that drum break!!!
Avatar 3:51pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...& there was the model for TheArchies & an entire Genre...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm Gaylord Fields:

I'm not saying that "Dizzy" is is as great as a pop song can possibly get — but I am saying exactly that!
Avatar 3:51pm Hoboken Jack:

"Dizzy" was No. 1 the day I was born, which i guess explains a lot.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm Parq:

Rev, there was so much overlap that I used to wonder whether Tommy *was* "the Archies".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Gaylord Fields:

@Hoboken Jack: "I'm Sorry," by Brenda Lee, was No. 1 when I was born. Make what you want about that.
  3:55pm "Dangerous" Dave.:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm Gaylord Fields:

@"Dangerous" Dave: Tommy's reply to that question made Todd dizzy for a second.
Avatar 3:58pm Hoboken Jack:

@Gaylord: It's a shame Ben Vaughn's "I'm Sorry (But So Is Brenda Lee)" never toppled the charts.
  4:01pm Miss Georgia Peach:

Hey what does he say " cheeks are rosey she looks a little _____"
  4:02pm Miss Georgia Peach:

Been waiting my whole life to know the answer!
  4:04pm Jam Up:

What meant Jelly Tight?
  4:05pm JakeGould:

So do we know what "Jelly Tight" means?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm Gaylord Fields:

@Miss Georgia Peach: I'll resist giving a Match Game answer and say I always heard it as "she looks a little nosy."

If I were to do it, I'd sing "she looks like Sandy Posey"!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Fuzzy:

Damn it -- I missed Dizzy! And appropriately, "Baby Love" was #1 on the day I was born!
Avatar 4:11pm Hoboken Jack:

Parker Posey for me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm Fuzzy:

Yes -- Crazy Bookstore Lady!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm Gaylord Fields:

@Hoboken Jack: More realistic in regards to my prior dating history is "Cheeks are rosy/She looks like Bela Lugosi."
  4:19pm JakeGould:

@Gaylord: So you were into "Ruth Gordon"-types?
  4:21pm Miss Georgia Peach:

This interview is gold plated with diamond inlay
Avatar 4:23pm Tomophobic Tom:

Miss Georgia Peach is spot on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm Gaylord Fields:

@JakeGould: It was more like they were into me.
  4:31pm JakeGould:

@Gaylord: I'm calling you Harold from now on!
Avatar 4:33pm Joe B:

Tommy Caviar!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm Gaylord Fields:

@JakeGould: Let's not. I don't like that movie, and I have a strong disdain for Ruth Gordon.
Avatar 4:35pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

  4:49pm Jam Up:

Caught Tommy Roe on August 30, 2000. Very nice. Think he interspersed his hits with covers and stories. Sigh:
Avatar 4:54pm Tomophobic Tom:

Dave's hair doesn't sound combed.

  4:57pm JakeGould:

@Gaylord: Okay. I've gone too far. Please forgive me!
Avatar 4:57pm Tomophobic Tom:

Dave always cracks beers.
  4:59pm Claudialily:

I think Wyldlife deserves a dozen bagels for that impromtu WFMU shot out in "Deadbeat"...
Avatar 5:00pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Claudialilly: I agree! As long as you're buying!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Avatar 5:03pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Tight, Loose & High Energy all @ once. A study in Rawk'n'Roll.
Avatar 5:03pm Tomophobic Tom:

@JoeB, DD - its not easy, typing cracking beers and doing vox all at the same time. But the skateboard helps.
Avatar 5:07pm Joe B:
