Worship the Glitch!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:08pm Liz Berg:

We're having some issues at 91.1FM, Scott and company working on a fix.
Avatar 12:09pm βrian:

I haven't crossed paths with Carl Stone in quite a while. How nice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09pm DonJuanTijuana:

Please FFD this
Avatar 12:09pm βrian:

@Cliff: Isn't that "Mind the Glitch."?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm Liz Berg:

I enjoy playing songs that make it sound like the radio is broken when the radio is actually broken.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Calling Agent 86 from Get Smart to help fight the KAOS! Turns out that Dick Gautier who played Hymie the Robot in that 60s TV show has died. RIP
  12:12pm Cliff in Prague:

βrian - I was thinking of the Coil album (actually put out as "ELpH vs. Coil")

  12:19pm ?:

15 minutes of Carl Stone is when free form goes off the rails.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm Liz Berg:

Calm down now, addled ones, we've got some soothing meditation music to piece your brain cells back together with.
Avatar 12:25pm βrian:

You're building one of those swaying rope bridges across the synaptic gaps. My footing is unsure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm maestroso:

The Second Stage track is very nice. 90.1 signal is loud and clear, by the way.
  12:49pm tinkle bear:

ken fhp: get smart explains two things:
1. it's called a "digital footprint" because the pros glue their mobiles to their shoe.
2. the codenames for classified NSA/GCHQ programs are always written in all-caps because otherwise they wouldn't be loud enough to hear inside the cone of silence.
sad to hear about gautier.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm Liz Berg:

How does everyone feel about the word "yummy?" Just curious.
  12:50pm Cliff in Prague:

Liz, it's a little creepy when said in a computer voice!
Avatar 12:57pm Whooda:

When I heard "yummy" then smiled to myself, then feeling embarrassed, berated myself for being entertained as well as having a desire to hear "yummy" come up again.
Avatar 12:59pm sugano:

i love all the old words and names..especially from the 40's..I think its cool to bring back Golly Gee and names like Moe for example
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I avoid using the words "yummy" and "tummy." Not sure why, though. They kind of give me the creeps, I guess. I remember some movie (probably a 60s or 70s flick) where a guy hands a lady a cocktail and she takes a sip and exclaims "Yummy."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm frozen_peas:

I think "yummy" is a tad babyish. This is coming from someone who says "good gravy!" and "flippin" all the flippin time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm Planet Tyler:

The only thing "good" about the disaster Trump is that, there might be some fantastic art and lots of punk rock that comes out of it
  1:17pm tinkle bear:

every use of "yummy", "veggie", "tummy", etc moves one's identity closer to fran drescher and further from [insert paragon of masculinity here].
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Michael 98145:

* awakened by the shaking *
  1:27pm βrian:

I once heard someone say "yummy wummy" in a manner that — to this day — makes me blush.
  1:35pm Polyus:

I like the word "gong".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm Michael 98145:

i like the sound of gong
Avatar 1:39pm βrian:

I read somewhere that the phrase "cellar door" rated as the most appealing to non-English speakers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm blee:

"cellar door" was in Donnie Darko as well. Drew Barrymore's character had it written on a chalkboard.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm Michael 98145:

"Holler down my rain barrel, slide down my cellar door
And we'll be jolly friends forever more."
  1:49pm JakeGould:

  1:55pm JakeGould:

"Yummy" is like "Comfy." Silly stupid words.
  1:57pm JakeGould:

Also "Moist." Nope. Never.
  1:59pm Mac:

good morning.
Avatar 2:00pm βrian:

And "joist" is ok?
  2:01pm JakeGould:

Avatar 2:01pm βrian:

Yes, he done got hoisted.
  2:02pm JakeGould:

Avatar 2:03pm βrian:

There is a pastry called "Nuns' Farts."
  2:04pm JakeGould:

What is it? Filled with raisins and cheese?
  2:06pm Cliff in Prague:

What about a moist, yummy brownie right out of the oven though?
Avatar 2:07pm βrian:

Fresh from the oven:
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Michael 98145:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm chris:

Liz, everyone: rawk!
Avatar 2:12pm βrian:

Avatar 2:12pm βrian:

But I'm guessing it was last night's cabbage rolls...
Avatar 2:15pm sugano:

  2:15pm JakeGould:

Cabbage rolls and coffee. Can't be beat!

NJ vs Texas? Easy, Brooklyn
  2:29pm JakeGould:

That emergency broadcast thing sounds like a robot taking a dump. Or throwing up. A robot defecating or throwing up.
Avatar 2:31pm TDK60:

Old topic? I've actually heard hardcore punx use "yummy" for the food at backyard h/c picnic gigs! True story.
  2:32pm mac:

in honor of the Womens March could you please play some Beat? (have you seen the logo?) #cha'rankin'
  2:34pm mac:

has NO ONE made a beat off those alerts? @therealylt @photobyjames
  2:39pm Cliff in Prague:

mac - probably illegal (to broadcast at least) in the US.
  2:42pm Cliff in Prague:

WHEN in Syracuse had a ditzy pop jingle for their EBS tests in the 70s, until the FCC told them to cut it out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm Liz Berg:

We had some experimental record here that sampled the EAS belches, but Cliff is right, totally illegal to play over the radio in the U.S. (those sounds actually trigger stuff down the line, believe it or not).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm joe:

'ello folks
  2:44pm Mac:

  2:45pm Jörgen:

Hi Liz, great show!
We're on holiday in Tenerife.
  2:45pm Mac:

Montgomery Clift ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm Liz Berg:

Enjoy your holiday, Jörgen! Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm Michael 98145:

Speaking of EBS tones, does anyone else remember the blue box?
  2:48pm Polyus:

I just heard something unbelievable a few minutes ago and wasn't able to look at the playlist to see who it was.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm Liz Berg:

@Polyus: if it sounded like throat singing, it was Ghédalia Tazartès, Pawel Romanczuk, & Andrzej Zaleski.
  2:49pm Cliff in Prague:

Yeah that throat singing was awesome Liz!
  2:51pm Mac:

Makes perfect sense. What was the video collab EBS? Spinning lights and ambulance.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm Ike:

There was an illegal EAS sample record? That would be nice to hear on Give the Drummer Radio sometime, heh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm Michael 98145:

thank you again, DJ Liz
  2:59pm mac:

fun show. thanks @lizberg
