"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

Avatar 6:10am duke:

Well, I'm pretty depressed. How about you?
Avatar 6:11am Sem Chumbo:

Hello, John Allen, duke.
  6:14am brian l.:

Morning all. Anyone have the title of the buffer song used between the 3-6AM and 6-9AM shows?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:14am George of Troy:

Hey there John, duke, Sem.

Duke, I'm right there with you.
  6:15am Gina K:

These are times when I turn to my dear FMU.
Avatar 6:20am Sem Chumbo:

@brian l.:that's the JM in the AM theme, going out over the airwaves. This is a web only show. JMintheAM.org for particulars on the music.
Avatar 6:24am John Allen:

no one is awake right? everyone still asleep?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:27am annie:

i'm awake, that's all that counts..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28am George of Troy:

If only, John... if only.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29am annie:

"Don't mention the war"
  6:29am Marcel M:

I think I'm dead
  6:30am TJ:

Sorry about sounding negative but PA is full of morons who just tossed us under a bus in this election. Reality TV president with no policies.

Great show John. We need this show today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30am annie:

good morning you fellow listeners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31am annie:

i do not know who won, btw...but i have a guess now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35am annie:

ok, now i'm hip; reading my news headlines... but we kicked mccrory out!!
  6:42am Jeff:

I am off to spend all my property taxes on lottery tickets because apparently anything is possible!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:45am annie:

oh, cool, that means i may win the powerball.
Avatar 6:45am John Allen:

save your $$ Jeff, we're soon going to get addicted to oxycontin like the america that won last night
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:46am foofs:

Susie's dead.
  6:52am Cooh John:

Good morning? I thought I woke up but I'm living a nightmare. News blackout for the next 4 years. "Help me WFMU,you're my only hope."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54am annie:

has the popular vote been established yet? i see he grabbed tons of electoral college votes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55am Ike:

Thank you for playing calming music. I have not slept. Let's see, how many days until the nuclear fire licks our bones clean? Any over/under? Immediately on Jan. 21 perhaps?
  6:56am n:

John-your reign will end? What's happening to the show once JMAM leaves?
Avatar 7:02am John Allen:

N, there will be a new thing soon as JM in the AM leaves. We do not know how the void will be filled, but as the 6-9 slot Nachum held was not freeform, that's the reason I've been here/the other webshows are here. I'll be back somewhere/sometime, but my last show in this mode will be the last weds in november
  7:02am mary:

just woke up .News. I'm crying. John, good show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:02am Ike:

Not going over to Give the Drummer Radio or some such?
  7:02am mary:

the damn electoral college. Not popular vote.
Avatar 7:05am John Allen:

Ike, I think some other 6-9 web DJs might go to the Drummer stream. But it was never my intention to compete with the freeform signal, only to steal ears from Nachum. Thus JA in the AM
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11am Ike:

Interesting. Thanks. I'm betting whatever is on the radio will be *very* different from your program but I see your point.
  7:12am n:

Understood. Look forward to listening to your show wherever it lands.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:12am annie:

time will tell, on all levels....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16am annie:

anyone know how jill stein did?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24am annie:

but gold jumped $60!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28am Ken From Hyde Park:

@annie - Trump will change the presidential retreat from Camp David to Fort Knox.
  7:29am brian l.:

John this is a really great set. An auditory balm for the surplus of psychic dissonance this morning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40am maestroso:

Thank you John for the music.
Avatar 7:49am John Allen:

thanks brian
Avatar 8:17am Sem Chumbo:

Listening with rapt attention, John. An education, and no snap quizzes. Much appreciated.
Avatar 8:25am Polyus:

Good morning from the dumbest, most shallow nation on Earth.
Avatar 8:27am John Allen:

damn polyus, i wish I started my show with that today
Avatar 8:31am Jelly Jim:

now watch as instances of racial hatred rise, just like the aftermath of the Brexit vote. anyway nice show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:38am Sue P.:

i don't wanna watch
Avatar 8:47am HarktheUmpire:

To be fair, Polyus, I'd say it's the second dumbest, most shallow after the UK, since she's actually ahead in the popular vote... which means that, in most (actually democratic) democratic countries she'd be winning now
Avatar 8:50am Polyus:

It really does seem like time to let go of the electoral college. But it has been a boon to the GOP, so I'm not holding my breath.
Avatar 8:52am HarktheUmpire:

might also be time to fire all pundits and make polling illegal
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56am annie:

yes, i thin k it's the polling creating so much trouble. we really should stop relying on it.
skews the whole thing up
Swag For Life Member 8:59am Faustcan:

Thank you very much for a great show!
