Neil diamond should spend more time in a cowboy hat in tiny desert dive bars.
  10:57am franny:

@Agent Peter I always imaged him on that dragon from the heavy metal movie cover. But standing on the dragon in transit playing guitar.
Avatar 10:57am herb.nyc:

i only saw Neil Diamond once, and maybe it was august 2008 at madison square garden. i had a lovely time, waaaaay upstairs. (i got tix for $4 via a ticket clearinghouse)
Avatar 10:59am Van in DC:

Oooh. Gotta loop back around to hear that Suzanne Ciani.
  11:00am Agent Peter:

@franny That dragon would make for a great custom paint job on many vehicles.

Turkey Hill is Pennsylvania's official State convenience store / gas station.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06am Matt ww:

@Cecile Agreed. On my way back from Michigan stopped at a Sheetz. HOLY MOLY now that's a store
Avatar 11:06am Cecile:

agent, yes in Western PA. Might be elsewhere, dunno.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07am MD:

Avatar 11:07am Cecile:

I tell people the Italian food get at a gas station in western PA is better than 90% of it in Minnesota.
Avatar 11:09am Cecile:

Although I found a good place that does fine refined and Eastern red sauce both well. Of course the owners are from Chicago.
  11:09am MD, M.D.:

It's around in western Maryland, too
Avatar 11:09am Rev. Turnip Druid:

stupid meeting caused this faithful garbage-head to miss Neil Diamond. Weapons-grade pout.
  11:11am Agent Peter:

I thought Eat n' Park was the official PA pit stop? At least out in western PA and Alabama-like part in the middle.
Avatar 11:14am Cecile:

Eat 'n' Park is pretty strong.
Western PA likes its convenience stores!
Avatar 11:14am agentearplugs:

Holy Sheetz, in the midwest, there's Kum & Go.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15am Matt ww:

Avatar 11:15am Cecile:

yes, and Pump and Munch.
Avatar 11:16am agentearplugs:

wocka wocka
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16am JP from KC:

And a bit further south, it's Stuckey's territory,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:17am Goatpuncher:

Beware Wawa! It is not from PA. It is from a hungry giant red snake's dimension and its goal is to harvest our intestines and cook them with cilantro and allspice! Eventually. Until then, I enjoy the drink selection.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20am Matt ww:

@goatpuncher Is quick chek okay?
Avatar 11:23am agentearplugs:

So the red snake doesnt get that soapy taste in its mouth from eatting cilantro... good to know.
  11:23am melinda:

I thought all the Stuckeys had closed.
Avatar 11:23am pierre:

#rev. I hear you, I missed the HEAVY METUUUL
Avatar 11:24am Cecile:

I personally think that lime juice goes with cilantro because it "cooks" it a little bit and reduces/eliminates the soapiness. It used to taste like that to me when I ate it straight.
Avatar 11:24am pierre:

I've got to ask though, what's the deal with Neil Diamond ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am Goatpuncher:

Well, QuickChek is owned by intelligent roaches from Alpha Centauri, but they're just trying to corner the intergalactic market on beef jerky, so no big deal.
Avatar 11:25am Cecile:

you tell me. Always bugged me.
Avatar 11:26am Cecile:

I personally like the Wisconsin stop 'n' robs where you can get guns, pickled eggs and baloney, wine, and New Glarus Spotted Cow beer.
Avatar 11:26am agentearplugs:

ooo the super powers of lime
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27am annie:

ok, gang-er-oonies, off to watch some garbage teevee and read a book. bahave yourselves
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28am Goatpuncher:

Wait, they're called Stop & ROB? They're just asking to get knocked over, aren't they? Unless they're run by eight-armed Venusians, with each arm armed.
  11:30am melinda:

I always like it when I hear Neil Diamond on WFMU.
Avatar 11:31am Chris from DC:

Good call on that New Glarus. Had that in Madison a while back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31am Matt ww:

How can you resist those velvety tones?
Avatar 11:31am herb.nyc:

to veer away from convenience store thread, anyone familiar with The Scenics? they play Monty Hall and are Big Takeover magazine approved, and the few songs i've heard are pretty good.
  11:32am Listener142985:

Avatar 11:35am pierre:

I need to listen to more Neil Diamond…
Avatar 11:36am Cecile:

pierre, you probably don't.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37am Michael 98145:

@Brendan, i always like the concept of drive-thru liquor stores. do they still exist in CO?
  11:38am Listener142985:

Hecks bandwagon now departing...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am Goatpuncher:

BTW, every Sheetz location is, in fact, a stealth Space Pope church. Sheetz's power of funk will turn the red snake into goo, if it's funky enough. And if they have enough iced green tea, which fuels their rockets. Sheetz may yet save us all! Just don't let their priests eat all your lasagna.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42am Matt ww:

Thanks Goatpuncher!
  11:43am holland oats:

enjoying this krauty jam
Avatar 11:43am herb.nyc:
