Sam! Hello!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12pm Sam Segal:

Hi, Melinda! Welcome to this evening's horsetogether.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13pm Sam Segal:

Melinda AND ngh, this is becoming a cavalcade of stars. Welcome!
Avatar 9:14pm duke:

Hello everyone. I'm looking for a horse.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:15pm Sam Segal:

Heya, Duke. We can look together.
Avatar 9:30pm geezerette:

Howdy Sam and wild horses!
Avatar 9:31pm coelacanth:

hello Sam and rounders
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:32pm Sam Segal:

What a wonderful crew we're gathering this evening. Hello, G and coelacanth!
Avatar 9:33pm coelacanth:

...i'm sorry duke. that might've been your horse i just paid - so i could get moving. he was acting kinda shady. 'in a big hurry, like he being chased or somethin'.
Avatar 9:41pm geezerette:

Coel that same horse hit me up at the saloon! I paid him in oats & he just laughed at me. Then he turned to walk away and dang if he didn't l jut like Donald Rump.
Avatar 9:44pm geezerette:

...look just like,I meant to say.
Avatar 9:44pm coelacanth:

hahaha! -well, as long as he didn't take a trump on the floor of the saloon.
Avatar 9:48pm coelacanth:

i really dug how that atlantikwall track ended up.
- and oiseaux-tempête knocked my socks off!
Avatar 9:49pm geezerette:

All splendid. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53pm Sam Segal:

More than a little Gainsbourg worship on this cut
Avatar 9:54pm coelacanth:

i don't think i ever listen to music casually. maybe that's my problem...maybe that's why i don't like all those formulaic pop songs, smooth "jazz", and autotuned "reggae" songs . maybe i should seek help.
Avatar 9:55pm geezerette:

Hey I think we've all found it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57pm Sam Segal:

@coelacanth: that's why I found it kind of funny that they would specify on their website that the music isn't meant to be listened to casually. Seems to me that anyone who would come across that band doesn't really listen to music "casually."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:59pm melinda:

Does listening to music while doing other things count as casual listening?
Avatar 10:01pm northguineahills:

@melinda, That's the only way i listen to music, unless high.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04pm Sam Segal:

I wouldn't say so, @melinda. I often listen to music while doing other things, but I would still say my engagement in the music (usually) transcends "casual" listening.
Avatar 10:04pm coelacanth:

it's funny they advise it!
...although - i gave a cd to someone once (because she asked for it). she was going on a first date that night and she'd play it in the car. i said "Don't!" "this is not driving music. it's not dancing music. it's not love-making music. it's not first date music!...it's listening music."
she played it in the car and her date insisted there was stuff rolling around in the trunk. to this day i'd bet she's never listened to it.
Avatar 10:05pm coelacanth:

right, i agree there, Sam. (10:04)
Avatar 10:12pm coelacanth:

i forget who told a story about being at a party that Robert Johnson was at. there was a little radio off in the distance while Robert was talking and socializing - appearing to be paying no attention to the barely audible music. the next day he could play all the songs that played that night.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20pm Sam Segal:

I'm expecting the same thing out of all my listeners, @coelacanth. You better study up for tomorrow's test, because here at If You Lose Your Horse, we don't offer extra-credit under any circumstances.
Avatar 10:25pm coelacanth:

i think i've said "the teens"...and from 2000-2010 i just avoided having to refer to it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30pm Sam Segal:

Ooo, I like "the teens." Feels very apt for how this decade has been going thus far...
Avatar 10:40pm northguineahills:

Thanks Sam, gotta bounce!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41pm Sam Segal:

Love and space, ngh!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19pm Ike:

I can dig this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20pm Sam Segal:

Hiya, Ike!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21pm Sam Segal:

If you dig this, you'll certainly dig this excellent interview Marc Masters did with Jim O'Rourke recently: daily.bandcamp.com...
Avatar 11:44pm coelacanth:

though i'm barely familiar with Tammy Wynette, i do have a favorite.
i shan't say; i'll just privately hope!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46pm Sam Segal:

You don't say, @coelacanth...I am quite curious. I am fairly new to her work myself, but boy am I falling for it...
Avatar 11:49pm coelacanth:

she had such feeling, and beautiful tone.
...i'll tell you in a minute!
Avatar 11:52pm coelacanth:

okay. "walk through this world with me".
...i'm not playing games; i just feel strongly about not interfering with a dj's programming.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57pm Sam Segal:

I appreciate that ethic @coelacanth. Man, I came so close to playing that song. First time I heard it, it absolutely leveled me.
Avatar 11:59pm coelacanth:

it's a masterpiece.

...Thanks for a Fine program!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:00am Sam Segal:

Thanks for hanging!
Avatar 12:01am coelacanth:

(and, yeh; i need to increase my Tammy knowledge.)
