Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm Ken From Hyde Park:

  4:12pm Lyle:

Tina Turner. Hadn't thought of her in a while. We had a chance meeting back circa '68 when I was playing English Horn with Blodwyn Pig (short-lived gig). This would have been in South Carolina - a truck stop called South Of The Border. I was smoking a Tareyton by the big statue of Pedro which beckons motorists off the freeway. Suddenly, three young women in mini-skirts walked over and asked if they might have a cigarette. I was glad to oblige. They told me they were on the road with Ike and Tina Turner, whom of course I had heard of. Moments later, Tina Turner herself walked over and asked to have a cigarette. Unfortunately, I didn't have any left. She seemed annoyed. This was when a man (evidently, Ike) came around Pedro's southeast haunch and yelled at them all - "Get back on the damned bus!" Well, they all skidaddled out of there and onto there bus. Ike asked me for a cigarette and I told him I was out. He was irritated by this fact and he glared at me for a solid five seconds before he turned and walked away. An odd encounter, but one I'm glad I had in looking back.
Avatar 4:12pm coelacanth:

Matt, yes. i was very young but, also, i'm old.
Avatar 4:12pm JakeGould:

@GregfromZONE5: That would be the nice but $6 muffin zone.
  4:12pm Sharon Griffiths:

That Tina version of Ball of Confusion was fabulous. Thanks, Scott.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm Scott Williams:

ack! sorry about the disc rot
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@Scott Williams - Can I loan you my mildly soiled hanky to wipe off the disc rot? You don't have to give it back afterwards.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm Scott Williams:

@Z5Greg, something I played at the RecFair or here now? was prob Peter Gordon either way
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm Scott Williams:

Lyle's back!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Avatar 5:14pm KP:

Was thinking of the Nice's version of "Hang On" earlier.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16pm Parq:

Just looked up "Hang Onto" -- turns out there have been a bunch of versions. I always thought of it as a Nice song (as well as a nice song) -- as, apparently, did KP.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:18pm common:

it is a nice song.
  5:24pm KP:

A nice song recorded by the Nice and written by Tim Hardin. Apparently ELP recorded it too so "E" must have really liked it.

Avatar 5:43pm Sem Chumbo:

How long's it been since Leicester City's last triumph in the Premier League, Stanley?
