The great Will Shatter!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm dale:

you just made my wife very happy. i haven't done that in a while.
Avatar 7:04pm geezerette:

  7:09pm ScottC:

There is a shot of Will Shatter photographed by Bruce Conner that is probably in the top 25 Punk Rock photos of all time...Flipper is still relevant. I was at their first live show ( The Temple - 79?) and if anybody would said that would be the case 35 years later they would have gotten a beer shower...
Avatar 7:13pm glenn:

i was wearing my talk's cheap tee shirt earlier today.
  7:15pm ScottC:

Will when he was in Negative Trend by Bruce Connor - one of my favorite photos: http://archive.bampfa.berkeley.edu/images/art/bruce_conner/Conner_WillShatterNegativeTrend.jpg
  7:15pm JakeGould:

I saw a few “Talk’s Cheap” t-shirst at the record fair this weekend.
Avatar 7:16pm djsheilab:

Enjoying your set! And those seamless segues.
Avatar 7:17pm geezerette:

ScottC: Have you seen Bruce Conner's "BreakAway" with Toni Basil?
Think it's on youtube & it's absolutely great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18pm Jason Sigal:

Hi everyone, good to be here with you this evening. Thanks for Faye for the fill-in spot!
  7:20pm JakeGould:

@geezerette: Have been on a small bot of a Toni Basil trip and know the film exactly. www.youtube.com...
  7:21pm JakeGould:

Wait… Here’s the actual movie… www.youtube.com...
  7:22pm JakeGould:

Nah, the first thing is more of the Toni Basil stuff. Never mind.
  7:23pm psychogeographer deluxe:

....groooooovin' to al this. Nice to hear you on the airwaves, curatin'.
  7:23pm ScottC:

@JakeGould Thanks for the tip - I'll check it out.
  7:25pm JakeGould:

@ScottC: The actual film—and not the talking head stuff—is around 3:50 in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26pm melinda:

hi folks!
  7:26pm JakeGould:

And FWIW, Toni Basil’s career is fairly envious. Just look up her IMDB and Wiki stuff… She’s much more than just “Mickey” (which is a great tune),
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28pm dale:

'i'm 28' is a FANTASTIC song by toni
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:31pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I guess I don't hate her :
happybday.to... ...
  7:32pm JakeGould:

She choreographed David Bowie’s “Diamond Dogs” tour, starred in “Easy Rider”, was one of the original “Lockers” which was a breakdancing group that featured Fred Berry from “What’s Happening.” And that’s just the short side of things…
  7:33pm JakeGould:

And on topic… I’m loving this seamless set. Nice work, DJ!
Avatar 7:39pm geezerette:

If you ever get a chance to see the whole thing sans talking heads it's worth it. Sh's Peter Fonda's girl of chice in the New Orleans segment of Easy Rider. Karen Black is Hopper's.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:39pm northguineahills:

I walk out for 5 minutes and miss Pram, damn!
Avatar 7:41pm geezerette:

Bruce Conner was a great film maker and all his films are short.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Welcome back, Jason. Nice to hear that familiar bed music!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58pm northguineahills:

Jason on a weekend really gives me temporal displacement.
  7:58pm P-90:

Nicely proggy!
  8:01pm Syd:

Amazing mixes DJ JS.
  8:02pm slick randy:

Killing it
  8:04pm slick randy:

I was making a grilled cheese for my son when Chris Cohen song came on. I fell to my knees
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:04pm northguineahills:

Horse Lords are like some late 60s NYC minimalists got into a car crash w/ a bunch of Ethiopian funksters....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:06pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

So admire that - no idea what those 'African guitarists' are doing ('cross-picking'??) - but love it so - & Horselords are actually make their own thing of it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

HolyCrow this set.
Avatar 8:10pm geezerette:

This is so good, like you're in a strange city being told a story that you don't understand yet you're transfixed. Previous song even moreso.
  8:17pm P-90:

@RRN63: that "African" style is a finger-picking style. Easier to get real dense picking that way than with a plectrum.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...& Scott Walker is our guide - but I'm not sure he knows what's up either...
Avatar 8:22pm geezerette:

Anna Homler is also an extraordinary visual artist.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:24pm Ike:

Premium-grade audio.
Avatar 8:34pm geezerette:

This show is fucking graceful!
  8:38pm big wally:

this is a lab standard free form show.

Avatar 8:46pm Scraps deSelby:

Karl Hector & the Malcouns! Are! awesome!
Avatar 8:48pm Scraps deSelby:

Wow, Glen Campbell song (right? I think)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51pm melinda:

Scraps how are you doing since the fall?
Avatar 8:51pm geezerette:

@Scraps:Love and Rockets! Great Avatar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:52pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Written and recorded by Allen Toussaint in 1975 and then Glen Campbell recorded it in 1977 and that became very popular.
Avatar 8:54pm Scraps deSelby:

I didn't know that. Thank you!
Avatar 8:55pm Scraps deSelby:

geezerette: thank you!
Avatar 8:55pm geezerette:

You're welcome Scraps!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:02pm melinda:

hi geezerette!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:03pm melinda:

I haven't read Love & Rockets in a long time, have been thinking about revisiting.
  9:03pm Gaylord Fields:

I'm happy you're here myself, Jason! Loving the show!
Avatar 9:07pm geezerette:

That series has some of the best drawing /graphic design of the
20th century. And of course same for the writing.
Avatar 9:08pm Scraps deSelby:

Thank you, people. Yesterday I had three hours of the most painful pain that I've experienced. Now I'm on Dilaudid, which is... better.
Avatar 9:10pm geezerette:

Don't let them short you on pain meds. Make sure not to wait till meds wear off to take next dose. Have that discussion with doctor.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:15pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I prescribe WFMU listening, which makes any hardship more easy to endure. Hope you heal up soon, Scraps.
Avatar 9:16pm Scraps deSelby:

geezerette: Yep. It's a good hospital that way. We had a miscommunication about how much tolerance towards pain meds I had. We figured it out.
Avatar 9:17pm Scraps deSelby:

Ken: Indeed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18pm Andrew Waterloo:

yah, get to catch the end of a Talk's Cheap set :)
Avatar 9:25pm geezerette:
