Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Scott Williams:

Thanks Cliff!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Scraps:

I think that's the first Robert Kidney song since I heard the one Kidney song on the Golden Palominos "Blast of Silence". It confirmed my wish to hear more. Thanks.
Avatar 3:20pm Wild Neil:

@Scraps-I saw the Golden Palaminos open for somebody at the Felt Forum....in 1985 or so...86'?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm Scraps:

I didn't even know that they played live. With guest musicians all over the place on each song, I mean...
Avatar 3:24pm Wild Neil:

There was Anton Fier (spelling) and Syd Straw and that's all I remember. I THINK Mike Stipe and John Lydon did NOT show up....
Avatar 3:25pm Cecile:

they did not. I do remember Jack Bruce playing bass when I saw them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm Scraps:

If the live version of the band featured Peter Blegvad, I'll kick myself for missing it
Avatar 3:26pm geezerette:

Just keeps getting better n better Scott. (:c)
Avatar 3:27pm Cecile:

OH. I think it did! I remember a friend of mine talking to him at the record store where she worked.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm Scraps:

Avatar 3:30pm Wild Neil:

I remember Celluloid Records had a cardboard display with their records, CDs and cassettes in it...that was the label for the Golden Palominos and others too....at the Syracuse University Student Union record store....long gone! I checked...the record store that is...The Spectrum....
Avatar 3:31pm Wild Neil:

NEVER heard this Animals song...thank you!
  3:31pm BrianFromMA:

Reminds me why I never liked those "New Animals" albums.
  3:32pm BrianFromMA:

Wild Neil, it's a cover of a Traffic song.
Avatar 3:32pm Joe B:

boy, andy summers never played like this with the police!
Avatar 3:33pm Wild Neil:

Different Andy Summers, right? @ Joe B-you must be kidding!
Avatar 3:33pm Joe B:

nope, that andy summers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm Cliff:

Same one, look it up! :)
Avatar 3:34pm InBrkly:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm Scott Williams:

Yep, it is That Andy Summers - tho unclear whether he's playing the solo, or John Weider; anyone know for sure?
Avatar 3:37pm Joe B:

wiki says Andy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm fred:

Good afternoon Scott and all listeners
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm Scott Williams:

thanks Joe B!
Avatar 3:38pm geezerette:

Lot of Who's"Tommy",touch of Zappa, lot of soul!
Avatar 3:41pm Joe B:

from a 2014 interview with Summers: At that point in time, we were very much into these long, sort of psychedelic solos. That was my voice, at the time. I don’t know if it holds up or not, anymore. But, at the time, I think it was the longest guitar solo ever recorded at the point when we were doing it. That was very much ’60s acid rock, a here-I-am-flying-around-the-heavens sort of thing.
  3:41pm Polyus:

Angel Witch at Primavera Sound, hope WFMU gets to broadcast it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm Scraps:

Didn't Summers record an album with Robert Fripp?
Avatar 3:45pm Wild Neil:

@Scraps-yes, sure DID...I used to have it. Love me some King Crimson too!
  3:45pm Anonymous Coward:

I don't know Angel Of Death, but i think they have the longest list of Former Members I've ever seen for a band on Wikipedia.
  3:45pm Anonymous Coward:

*Angel Witch
Avatar 3:45pm Joe B:

Summers and Fripp did two LPs together
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm Cliff:

Now I'm thinking of The Police song "Born in the 50's", which obviously didn't apply to Andy Summers :)
  3:49pm melinda:

Cliff de Young was in the popular tear-jerker TV movie Sunshine in the 70s.

I saw Martin Rev last week and it was the worst set of Sonic Protest. I had low expectations, but it turned out too optimistic by a lot

  4:35pm Marc15:

Thanks Geezerette & Sandy! Sandy, no what happened? little outta the loop this weekend
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm Cliff:

geezerette, I probably first came across that site in the late 90's/early 00's when I was listening to Coil a lot....funny that it's still around but the MiniDisc has been discontinued by Sony ;)
Avatar 5:30pm Marcel M:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm Scott Williams:

Holy crap, Sandy! Now I know. are you ok?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm Scott Williams:

Avatar 5:30pm Sandy in Houston:

Houston is basically shut down right now. Most of the flooding was this morning, the road outside my apartment was a big river all the way to my door. pictures: www.chron.com...
Avatar 5:31pm Sandy:

My only regret is the flood was early in the morning so I went back to bed rather than inflating the raft I bought for just this occasion.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:32pm Scott Williams:

Whoah... be safe! Back to bed is always a good idea.
Avatar 5:38pm Marcel M:

I like this
Avatar 5:41pm TDK60:

I hear The Blues wellin' up from below...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42pm Greg from ZONE 5:
