Bernie looks good on a field of orange.
  3:01pm Listener Robert:

Chortled thru my teeth at the Sanders game.
  3:03pm Listening Out There:

I assume this is an endorsement? :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm Michael in Seattle:

Depends on what the other person is drinking.
  3:14pm jan:

the nice! to be followed by the pretentious ELP
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Carmichael:

And then by the uber-pretentious Asia.
Avatar 3:18pm glenn:

that was a poem? huh.
  3:19pm david from radioactive ks:

,,,,,,,We have tried to bend the LAWS OF NATURE,,,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm Irwin:

Hey, did you all like my poem of sadness? I have a sad.
  3:21pm Brendan:

Norther Winslow is my fave poet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm Irwin:

What about ME, Brendan? Am I top five??
Avatar 3:22pm glenn:

no, you HAS a sad. get with the program, irwin.
Avatar 3:22pm geezerette:

well...it was a sad poem,very,very,sad...
Avatar 3:23pm geezerette:

& Joe Frank scares me.
Avatar 3:23pm glenn:

does the sad poem reflect prejudice, desire or instinct?
  3:24pm jan:

@Carmichael- that band, I did not know. Living in NYC,
I had turned to listen to WBLS circa 1975-80? and soon lost interest in any music that was found to the right of the 88-93.9MHZ portion of the FM dial. After that, the radio was virtually broken, being mostly tuned to 91.1.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm Irwin:

It reflects sad. And the sky, the rain, the wind, the sun, the moon, the sea, and smegma.
  3:25pm Brendan:

Irwin, you are the plane above. Not the airplane above but that higher thingy where greats reside . Higher than poet laureates i think.
Avatar 3:26pm glenn:

ummm. i don't believe jewish folk are responsible for much of the world's smegma count, but i've been wrong before.
Avatar 👻 3:26pm βrian:

With radio as with politics, always stay near the extreme left of your dial.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm Irwin:

I weep for the goddess helvetica.
  3:28pm Brendan:

Damn having just tuned in i missed the great poem, guess I've to wait for the archive to post.
  3:29pm P-90:

Hail Helvetica! And Hail Irwin and Thronging Chusidiots! And BERN, BABY, BERN!
  3:31pm jan:

This Tribute to Sun Ra is great.
Avatar 👻 3:32pm βrian:

Oh, those boots!
  3:32pm Brendan:

New Roman theres an oxymoron
  3:33pm Brendan:

Arian Black? Cmon fontmakers!
  3:34pm Polyus:

Are you a win, a place, or a show guy?
Avatar 👻 3:35pm βrian:

@Brendan: to the contrary, Romans are born every day.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 3:36pm Alison Porchnik:

Dang I missed Irwin's sad poem!
  3:37pm Brendan:

Roman Times are not new
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 3:38pm Alison Porchnik:

Sometimes I rock it Goudy Old Style
  3:38pm P-90:

But Times Roman is timeless
  3:39pm Brendan:

Cool Theres a Bauhaus font. Wonder if it Gothic?
Avatar 👻 3:40pm βrian:

Roman Times ≠ Roman Empire
  3:40pm Brendan:

@brian, P-90 points well taken. Damn those whimsical font names!
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 3:41pm Alison Porchnik:

Medieval Times is pretty cool too. Anyone been there?
Avatar 👻 3:42pm βrian:

Bookman is a mensch.
Avatar 👻 3:43pm βrian:

That Cheesy faux castle north of Chicago??
  3:46pm Dean:

There's a Medieval Times in Buena Park, just up the road from Knott's Berry Farm and across the street from a wax museum. Needless to say, it's kind of overshadowed by the neighboring competition, never mind Disneyland, which is not far south on the freeway.
  3:50pm Brendan:

Oh yeah Medieval Times font is related to Barleymeade Wench Bold or Haggardly Mutton Corsican
  3:52pm burpage:

my mom used to say her nibs
  3:55pm P-90:

Baskerville, Georgia, and Futura are standbys that I always come back to. They're all super-readable, and each has a personality that doesn't intrude or wear out the eye. Arial is a crappy attempt to "improve" on Helvetica, it's one of the rare fonts I actively disdain.
Avatar 👻 4:02pm βrian:

Already with the lists!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm Michael in Seattle:

... and Comic Sans
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05pm Michael in Seattle:

Oh, Joe Frank! Thank you!
  4:06pm P-90:

Comic Sans is despicable, but someone did a nice font based on Charles Schulz's Peanuts hand-lettering. It's a much more palatable alternative to Comic Sans if you're looking for something like that for some particular application...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Michael in Seattle:

Re: www.gofundme.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm Carmichael:

I'm an Arial guy myself. An idiot here at work uses Comic Sans. Talk about undercutting your credibility ...
  4:11pm P-90:

Wow! her update yesterday on Go Fund Me says Joe's next procedure is "tomorrow at 1:00 pm"
If they're on the West Coast, that means 4:00 EST.
Which is right now...
  4:11pm Clay P:

This is fascinating. It sounds like Joe dubbed in his responses in this interview, to maintain the consistency of his usual vocal delivery. Makes it more chilling somehow. And the low-volume incessant background music. A master teller of tales.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 4:12pm Alison Porchnik:

In the words of a dear, departed friend, in these places "the BM is King."
  4:13pm Clay P:

Thanks for playing this, Irwin. Not standard FMU fare, but a good face to face look at aging.
  4:14pm geezerette:

& there are mirrors for that.
Avatar 4:14pm the Canterbury wood-elf:

Tahoma is a nice alternative to Arial. Slightly "warmer" and less commonly used.
  4:17pm Jack:

I came in late and thought it was you, Clay P!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm Carmichael:

I wonder if Joe Frank likes Asia.
Avatar 4:22pm TDK60:

Trump is a pig.
  4:23pm Clay P:

I wish, Jack!
  4:25pm Clay P:

The ship is going down anyway ... sigh.
Avatar 4:27pm MenfussMike:

i think that was one of the best Joe Frank's I have heard and rather timely
  4:37pm Jack:

Hey Irwin! A few weeks back you said Clay P. loves horn jazz rock stuff, and I know you've played the Flock before. Could you play "Store Bought, Store Thought" for him?
  4:38pm Ike:

No matter how many Joe Franks you have, they're never spelled w/an apostrophe -- not even if you have 50 Joe Franks. But the question is, what is Joe Frank's preferred font? The font of Joe Frank. Possessive. And is Joe possessive? How possessive?
  4:39pm Tommy:

Any more cheap shots at Bernie and I'm not listening anymore...well I'll listen but I won't pay attention
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm Irwin:

Jack: We don't have the Flock album in the library. Have it at home. Will try to remember that I told you today that I'll bring it next week. I'm usually pretty good at remembering things I told other people I'd do, even tho I rarely do them. You can count on that.
Avatar 4:41pm MenfussMike:

ha, Ike you are correct sir. my catholic English teacher would spank me with her ruler.... and I would like it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:45pm Carmichael:

If Sanders gets elected, we will go back to having an 80 year old president. I think the last one was that doddering fool Reagan.
Avatar 4:46pm glenn:

carmichael speaks truth to power.
  4:48pm Listener Robert:

I sometimes use Bookman in diagram captions & other headings.
Avatar 4:50pm TDK60:

Cruz is a pig.
Avatar 4:52pm glenn:

stop insulting pigs.
  4:52pm Marc15:

Wow! That was awesome!
  4:52pm Clay P:

The Flock. Nice. JErry Goodman of Mahavishnu Orchestra was in The Flock, I think. This Joe Frank is INTENSE!
Avatar 4:54pm MenfussMike:

They are the pigs...we are the doddering fools
  4:54pm Listener Robert:

So where did the "real" Raymond story leave off? With his belongings put in the alley? Or farther back? Like maybe everything since the car washing?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54pm chris:

a hitchcockian murder to accompany the sads. seems appropriate.

hi Irwin and Irwin's show's commenters
  4:56pm P-90:

None of these so-called pundits have taken into consideration how many votes Bernie may pick up in South Carolina from folks who mistakenly think they're voting for Colonel Sanders. Could blunt some of Hillary's momentum there, get him a few delegates at least...
Avatar 4:58pm glenn:

ted cruz was born in canada, colonel sanders died in canada. coincidence?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00pm Mike East:

@glenn- you guys killed Colonel Sanders and a war didn't break out?! Musta been some top notch diplomacy going on.
Avatar 5:02pm glenn:

never mind, he died in kentucky. he lived here for a few years, though.
  5:06pm Cliff:

Mike East - those damn Canucks even managed to burn down the White House that one time! F'in hosers!!!
Avatar 5:09pm glenn:

technically, that was the british and it was in retaliation for you guys destroying port dover.
Avatar 5:10pm glenn:

so nyah nyah nyah.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...even FDR only died age 63...& he'd only begun to give free stuff after four terms...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...by then I guess he was kinda too big to fail...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16pm Mike East:

Oh Thomas...
  5:16pm CP:

Scott Walker dropped out before he could get that Canadian wall built. Of course, Canada would have to pay for it. Would keep out Loverboy, Corey Hart, and Triumph. Rush gets diplomatic pass.
  5:17pm CP:

Thomas is no Shooby. Still, he has charms.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17pm chris:

A Trump/Thomas ticket would be unstoppable
  5:18pm Cliff:

Bryan Adams? Celine Dion?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:18pm foofs:

This is what I found my way to WFMU for. Songs in the Key of Z. This earthquakes and relieves my heart simultaneously.
Avatar 5:18pm glenn:

why not? we're already paying the freight to get a new bridge built from windsor to detroit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm foofs:

Thomas, I mean.
  5:19pm berbo:

deport Bieber!
  5:20pm Cliff:

Hey Irwin, that Bernie Sanders drinking game is a little inaccurate. He DID say several times in the debates that he'd be raising our taxes to pay for his programs.
  5:20pm JL Pill:

MAy have to be a special door for Alanis.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

'The Gift' - written by LouReed in HighSchool is my understanding?
  5:20pm P-90:

But a Canadian border wall constructed now would be too late to stop those who are already here, like Shatner and Philbin, right? Or is there a plan that addresses that too?
Avatar 5:22pm glenn:

regis philbin? he's not canadian.
  5:22pm Cliff:

So I think you have to swipe a quarter out of the other guy's pocket before drinking his beer.
  5:22pm Mynah Byrd:

Regis is grandfathered in like Neil Young.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:22pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...we wouldn't want any 'free stuff' like a health care system like the rest of the civilized world coming down here...
Avatar 5:23pm glenn:

he was born in the bronx.
  5:23pm Cliff:

Shatner can come and go where he pleases. He has earned that right many times over by now.
  5:24pm Guess Who:

Burton Cummings gets a pass.
Avatar 5:24pm glenn:

and neil's never given up his canadian citizenship.
  5:25pm If You See Kay:

April Wine may perform at no more than 10 Rib-Fests annually in US.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:25pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...course - only Republicans can create surpluses, pull us out of financial collapse & pay for wars - that's proven fact...anyhow...
Avatar 5:26pm glenn:

tell you what, we'll take shatner back if you agree to take stephen harper and the rest of the canadian tea party.
  5:27pm P-90:

No deal.
  5:28pm Beaver Brown:

This is SO Bruce.
  5:28pm Cliff:

RevRabbit: pretty sure at this point a majority of Republicans believe they are the only legitimate political party operating in the country. Everyone else is a goddamned Commie traitor.
  5:28pm Cliff:

NOOOO you can't have Shatner back, we still need him here for stuff
Avatar 5:29pm glenn:

all right, how about shania?
Avatar 5:30pm glenn:

shania AND a draft pick.
Avatar 5:31pm Roberto:

I might have to pledge me some Thomas monies.
  5:31pm P-90:

And Canada is running for President of the U.S.

  5:31pm P-90:

Avatar 5:31pm Eye_Eye:

but EYE think...EYE lEYEk...Bernie Sanders...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:32pm foofs:

The tax gripes don't occur here in smug ol' europe. We don't have to fill in forms. The price on the shelf is the price you hand over. I really think that's the issue. Paying tax in the US has been made as irritating and obstructive for everyman as it can possibly be. So everybody hates it. Of course, entrusting the government with automatic tax deductions takes a bit of fundamental, implicit trust. Maybe trustworthy people need to get elected in the US.
Avatar 5:35pm Eye_Eye:

...and EYE think...Bernie Sanders...can be trusted...with thEYE MonEYE...
Avatar 5:35pm glenn:

ha! if you google neil young citizenship this page comes up. funny stuff.
