Daddy Long Legs is great, for sure, but I still want the Johnny Cash tarantula on my side.

Ah yes, a Roy Orbison record on MGM. All of Roy's albums and singles are now lovingly reissued in all formats and even released by a major label. Amazing. lots of great music not often heard. Roy's middle period.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Daddy-o Dilly:

Daddy Long Legs is the best (almost new) blues band I've heard in years. All their records are great.

TEXT CORRECTION: Ah yes, a Roy Orbison record on MGM. All of Roy's MGM albums and singles are now lovingly reissued in all formats and even released by a major label. Amazing. lots of great music not often heard. Roy's middle period.

I saw THE BEST DLL shirt on my last day in NY. How do I buy? Sup Todd-O-Fawnik
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm Daddy-o Dilly:

Orbison on MGM: One of the problems was that MGM was known to quickly delete their records. Two years tops for many of their releases during that period unless it was a big seller. The times had changed and Roy not so much. His style of music went out of style even though he continued to record great music, if you liked that sort of thing.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55pm Jeff from Rahway:

Wow, I first learned of this song when the Lyres covered it. This version is pretty.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:02pm Daddy-o Dilly:

Homer Banks "A Lot of Love": This version is new to me. Thank you very much. I've heard and enjoyed Taj Mahal's version since the early 1970s.
  5:05pm Bluesman:

Who you call in' a jerkoff from Rockland County?!!!
Avatar 5:12pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Re: Steve Lawrence track
Forgot about that. I discovered that song through the Merseybeats' version
Avatar 5:16pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Mike Sin: I discovered that version via Dennis Diken leaving it in Michael's mailbox! Merseybeats and Pleazers both do great versions.
  5:16pm Bluesman:

Well I'm living IN Rockland but I'm FROM the Bronx!

Avatar 5:43pm glenn:

  5:43pm Mark R:

One time a friend of mine was going to see Lazy Lester. I came into work on Monday and asked, "How was Lazy Lester?" He said, "Lazy Lester was fucked UP." (I guess Lester showed up so plastered, he could barely play.) But he sounds OK here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...this righteous jukejoint Bloozfest is making me feel conspicuously sober...
  5:47pm Mark R:

Excello was a great blues label. (Obviously)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm Daddy-o Dilly:

I was gonna get off this damn computer and get some chores done but you had to start playing Excello blues records. ok. Now that that's over I'm REALLY gonna get some chores done. I'll just turn the volume up. Thanks, Todd.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Jeff from Rahway:

Avatar 5:57pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:
