Good morning! Happy Imbolc!!

Good morning Joe

¡Buenos Dias, Amigos!
Long time, no see!
Avatar 9:09am Joe McG:

Welcome everyone, to the morning of our lives! (Hey, Claw!, where you been?)
Avatar 9:11am KP:

Over the air Joe is much more invigorating.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13am Brian in UK:

Hey Joe. Music to spring clean by/to.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:15am sphere:

This track was the best part of the Hateful Eight.
Avatar 9:16am PKNY:

G'TZAG, Joe and everybody! Is this going to be an OST theme show today? It's funny, just picked up 3 OSTs in my travels this weekend - "Across 110th Street", "Short Eyes" (underrated Curtis Mayfield soundtrack), and a reissue of Les Baxter's "Hell's Belles".
  9:17am Polyus:

Isn't this a Yes song?
Avatar 9:19am Joe McG:

@Polyus: It is! @PKNY: Wow, great sdtrk scores! I only have the first one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19am sphere:

Looks like it:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19am Goyim in the AM:

Other Kozelek Tormato covers include "Don't Kill the Whale (You Big Fucking Asshole)" and "The Circus of Heaven (Where My Cousin Ritchie Got Crushed to Death by an Elephant)".
  9:20am Santos L Halper:

Hello Joe.
@Polyus: just caught the last few seconds but I think that was onward from tormato
  9:20am Polyus:

That's great, will have to seek out the rest of these covers.
  9:20am Claw!:

I have been neither here nor there. Existing and not existing all at once. I am Schrödinger's Claw.

I've been listening - just haven't been commenting as often because the show is on while I'm at work and it's been crazy lately having to pack up for the move at the shop. Moving all that vinyl is gonna suck ass. I'm starting to feel the stress.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22am Brian in UK:

Joe here is another book recommendation. It was a book Christmas.
Avatar 9:22am Wild Neil:

@Claw! OOH, moving LPs? I remember that. I gave all mine away a long long time ago to JB my friend in Jersey City....I can kinda see the attraction of cassettes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24am Brian in UK:

An LP has that tactile quality that no other format delivers.
Avatar 9:24am PKNY:

If you're gonna call a song "Pigfoot", it better be funky, so props to Patrick Cowley for holding down his end of the bargain!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24am annie:

^what brian said..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24am Ken From Hyde Park:

Good luck with the move, Claw! Don't scratch any of that vinyl!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25am Brian in UK:

@PKNY Pigfoot by Pigbag?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25am Goyim in the AM:

Polyus: They are available on the fictional Sun Kil Moon 5x7-inch set called "A Tormato Hurled in the Face of the Band on the Main Stage Drowning Out My Brilliance".
  9:26am Claw!:

Heh... thanks, Cken. I'll do my best. Been weight training for the past month and a half to get swole for the move. I'm hoping I won't throw my back out or some other dumb shit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28am thedunkel:

This Dune soundtrack is awesome! Nice call!
Avatar 9:29am PKNY:

@Brian - don't know that band, and the Googles came up empty. Link?

@Claw! - bend at the knees, and do a bunch of air squats to warm up...good luck with the vinyl move, one of the major cons to having a sizable record collection.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:29am Brian in UK:

@Claw sack barrows and plenty of fluids.
  9:29am blee:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30am annie:

handtrucks, dollies... etc..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30am sphere:

Claw, where is the shop moving to? No one tells me these things! I guess I should have known with the Atlantic being shut down.
  9:30am Claw!:

Thanks for the tips, Folks! :-)
Avatar 9:31am Wild Neil:

@Claw-moving records up and down FIVE FLIGHTS of stairs in my old five story walkup on the Lower East Side.
  9:32am Claw!:

@sphere - we're still staying in downtown Silver Spring, so that's fortunate. We're moving up a few blocks on Georgia Ave, into the basement of the Suntrust building.
Avatar 9:32am PKNY:

"Chase" always reminds me of Cerrone's "Supernature", which is return always reminds me of the Benny Hill show.
Avatar 9:33am Joe McG:

@Brian: Book looks good! @Claw: Moving shop? Where to? Free advertising on my comments board today only. @Goyim: Ha, I wish this were all true, esp. the elephant one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34am Ken From Hyde Park:

I presume Midnight Express is the reason the movie Airplane! had that gag line about the Turkish prison.
  9:34am Claw!:

OMG, Neil, I don't envy that at all. We just have one flight of stairs in this move. But I remember moving my personal collection down three flight of stairs a few years back, and I still haven't psychologically recovered from that.
Avatar 9:34am Cecile:

That and the fact a whole lot of drug-smuggling hippies did time in 'em.
  9:36am Claw!:

Hah, thanks, Joe!
The new address is gonna be:
Joe's Record Paradise
8700 Georgia Ave
Silver Spring 20910
  9:37am Claw!:

This set is fantastic, btw, Joe.
Avatar 9:38am Joe McG:

@Claw!: Ha ha! My show piped in, 24/7. This is my Original Soundtrack to Your Monday Morning set.
  9:40am sugarwolf:

My 10th grade English teacher always told the story about the time she went to the movies she was so traumatized and horrified she never went to the movies again. Much later I found the movie she saw was Midnight Express.
Avatar 9:43am Joe McG:

@sugarwolf: Ha! Sounds like my mom. She went to see "Gandhi" and that was the end.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43am Ken From Hyde Park:

We need to all hop a bus to Silver Spring and create a bucket brigade line to transfer all those LPs. What's the number for Greyhound?
  9:44am Claw!:

Joe, I'd play your "Eleanor Rigby" show on repeat, every day.
Avatar 9:44am Ear Hammer:

Fresh backing track!
Avatar 9:46am Ear Hammer:

You are on a Mistress America kick!
Avatar 9:46am Cecile:

Also, take it with a grain of salt the size of a deer lick, and read about the real story before you see it.
Avatar 9:48am Cecile:

Early days of surgery.
  9:48am Claw!:

Never enough pig songs, I always say
Avatar 9:48am Cecile:

I haven't seen it, the trailers make me kind of cringe.
  9:48am Claw!:

Help me, Cken!
Avatar 9:48am Chud:

The Knick was about a hospital, "The Knickerbocker" at the turn of the century in NYC
  9:49am Claw!:

I wanna see "Muscle Up." :-(
  9:49am sugarwolf:

The knick is set in a hospital circa 1905 I believe and the main doctor, Clive Owen, has a drug problem.
  9:49am josh:

The Knick AKA olde-time Clive Owen alternates between bad surgery and recreational drug use
Avatar 9:50am Chud:

There was nudity, gore, drugs... it had it all. Steven Soderberg wrote and directed the first two seasons, but he's not doing a third. If there is another season, it will be with new characters and a new director
Avatar 9:51am greenlight:

hi everybody. enjoying the show so far. what about some Sonic Youth from Olivier's Assayas Demonlover?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52am annie:

hey, kenFHP, you can take a train literally almost to the front door
  9:52am KP:

Never saw Downton Abbey? Heavens!
Avatar 9:54am Cecile:

I haven't either.

Yay! Trio.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54am Marcel M:

I've never seen Downton Abbey either but I am really into ridiculous aristocratic stuff so maybe I should.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54am annie:

i really did try to give Derek a try... but well...it didn't happen, after 2 shows i moved on
Avatar 9:54am northguineahills:

Trio loves monosyllabilic repetitions.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54am Brian in UK:

Well if you folks want Downtime Abbey and Benny Hill, please feel free. No returns.
Oh and pinch, punch, first of the month. No returns.
  9:54am DF:

OMG, I thought I was the only one who had not seen Downton Abbey
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55am annie:

DA never called to me..NOTHING beats Fawlty Towers
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55am @sugarwolf@:

I have not seen Downton Abbey & have no real desire to see it.
  9:56am SeanG:

  9:56am Lila Williams:

I think you should watch Downton abbey. It is on ABC every sunday night ay 9:00 p.m.
It takes place in England in the 1950's.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56am annie:

i learn!! i learn!!
Swag For Life Member 9:56am tadpoles:

Not sure about "The Knick" but a great Richard Lester movie made between the 2 Beatles' films is "The Knack" - Michael Crawford in his element.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57am Brian in UK:

I believe that there is to be a one-off Fawlty Towers. Lawd knows why.
Avatar 9:57am Joe McG:

Thanks for the info about "The Knick" and "Downton Abbey," everyone!
  9:57am Claw!:

I am not fancy enough to watch Downton Abbey
Avatar 9:57am Cecile:

I actually am doing a lot more reading and watching historical non-fiction programs. Also Homicide Hunter.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58am Brian in UK:

....and Rita Tushingham.
Avatar 9:58am βrian:

Why, Golly. We just saw Downtown Abbey last night.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58am Marcel M:

Downton Abbey always seemed like a glorified soap opera to me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:59am annie:

i tried to give that "Wanda" sequel a chance.. it just didn't fly..
Avatar 10:00am βrian:

1920s, by the way, not 1950s. It's quite fun to imitate the characters. I'm working on my Carson. Needs more gravitas.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02am annie:

cecile have you read any of those books, the historical fiction books by eric larsen? "Devil in the White city" is the only one that comes to mind
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02am Ken From Hyde Park:

How close it it to the show that was on Comedy Central last year, Another Period?
Avatar 10:03am Cecile:

I started the one on Marconi, and it was good, but I just wasn't into it. I LOVED Devil in the White City.
  10:04am Claw!:

So wait, Joe - you won't watch gay porn, but you'll play Loverboy?
  10:04am Claw!:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04am Brian in UK:

Joe, can you believe that John Peel played Wham!'s first single before release. That's freeform.
Avatar 10:04am Cecile:

The synths on Loverboy always threatened to turn into Devo, but then they just kept going on to be Loverboy. I do have a soft spot for "Hot Girls In Love", though. It's kind of irresistibly ridiculous.
Avatar 10:04am Roberto:

Somehow Loverboy feels just about right this morning.
Avatar 10:04am Marc Francis:

Where will he where will he be tomorrow?
Avatar 10:04am Joe McG:

@Claw: Ha ha ha! Their red pants ARE very nice.
Avatar 10:05am Cecile:

I remember a world without Loverboy. That's old.
  10:06am Polyus:

I like the way he rocks okay, the rolling needs some work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:07am Ken From Hyde Park:

Loverboy was OK...got any April Wine to follow up?
Avatar 10:07am Wild Neil:

I remember drinking beer in a field and somebody else's brother (older brother) says "try this on for size" and plays everybody'w working for the weekend. Meh. Downton Abbey is on PBS, not ABC. And its hard to understand with all the accents and their weird Briishisms. Still, the phrase "mister bates" is always good for a chuckle. He is a badass by the way...
  10:08am Claw!:

@Cken - HAHAHA
Avatar 10:08am Wild Neil:

Julie Brown wants an Alpha male. Makes me wanna pump iron.
  10:09am Listener Alexandra:

You kill me, Joe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09am Marcel M:

Wow this Julie Brown is amazing hahaha
Avatar 10:09am Joe McG:

@Alex: :)
Avatar 10:10am Wild Neil:

Julie Brown is hot.
Avatar 10:11am Cecile:

I loved her show on MTV.
  10:12am Claw!:

Avatar 10:13am northguineahills:

That's Robin Gibb!!! I have this record, sweet!
Avatar 10:13am βrian:

We do have to hit replay to catch some of the phrases, usually among the servants. And it's a show replete with entertaining-but-implausible one-liners. It will improve your posture.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13am Greg from ZONE 5:

Morning, gang!
Haha, what a place to jump in…
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13am annie:

yeah the marconi one..it wasn't great. but i did get a thrill from the white citty story..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13am Ken From Hyde Park:

This Monday's Surface Noise is brought to you by the letters J and M and the number One!
Avatar 10:14am Joe McG:

@Ken: Ha ha ha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14am Liz Berg:

I'm so glad to discover that my record collection and McGasko's converge at Cookie Monster!
Avatar 10:14am PKNY:

@Ken - I hear April Wine's "I Like to Rock" all of the time on one of the Sirius hard rock channels. They had the balls to *simultaneously" jack "Satisfaction" and "Day Tripper" in the breakdown on that one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:15am Ike:

  10:15am MONEYBAG$:

may this song never end
Avatar 10:15am Joe McG:

@Liz: I don't know how you ever parted with this one, Liz, but thanks!
Avatar 10:15am Cecile:

@annie, my nephew who doesn't like reading was up all night trying to finish that one
  10:15am Polyus:

Oh god, some of this really does make me think of Tom Warrior. If Cookie Monster yells "HEYYY" it will be perfect.
Avatar 10:15am PKNY:

If only this was a web-only show, it'd be nice to follow up Cookie Monster with Blowfly's "Sesame Street".
Avatar 10:15am Wild Neil:

Loverboy sucks. He's like a low-rent version of The Tubes.
  10:16am Brendan:

NOM NOM NOM this song is delicious
Avatar 10:16am quinn:

well, my two year old is very excited right now
Avatar 10:16am Wild Neil:

Joe, overall, though, your show rocks!
Avatar 10:17am βrian:

C is for cabbage rolls!
Avatar 10:18am PKNY:

Woah, Cookie Monster totally beatjacked Barry White on the intro! In 1983, no less!
Avatar 10:18am steve:

  10:18am Brendan:

Joe I know you don't do requests per se, but the Fred Rogers garden of your mind song would be A wonderful glass of milk to wash down those cookies
  10:18am Claw!:

"Crumbs Unlimited Orchestra"... OMG, this is the best. BEST!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19am Ken From Hyde Park:

I rate this song five cookies out of five!
Avatar 10:19am SheWolf:

The Knick is a show about a turn of the century hospital in lower Manhattan. It's very dark and really great.
  10:19am blee:

So much death metal about cookies!!!
Avatar 10:19am PKNY:

I'm sure that Barry White never loved a woman as much as CC loves cookies.
Avatar 10:19am Cecile:

this is the greatest song ever written. #2 is ODB and Macy Gray doing "don't go breaking my heart."
  10:19am kym:

Please, please follow this with Amanda!
Avatar 10:19am northguineahills:

I still love "Me lost me cookie at the disco".
Avatar 10:19am Cliff:

Cookie Monster disco.....now I've heard everything
Avatar 10:19am glenn:

did cookie monster die?
Avatar 10:19am Cecile:

Or Killdozer.
Avatar 10:20am Cliff:

No, he is immortal
Avatar 10:20am Joe McG:

@glenn: Ha ha ha! Nothing wrong with a Cookie Monster double shot!
Avatar 10:21am PKNY:

Disco Layla!
  10:21am KP:

Worst version ever of worst song ever?
  10:22am P-90:

Derek goes Disco! Hi Joe!
Avatar 10:22am glenn:

also, april wine is criminally underrated.
Avatar 10:22am PKNY:

"Layla" gets a pass as worst song in my book, just for the Duane Allman slide. Now, if someone did a disco version of "American Pie" in the 70s...
Avatar 10:23am Cecile:

I like Layla, but it was played way too much.
Avatar 10:25am βrian:

Do they have anything akin to marching bands in the UK?
Avatar 10:25am Cecile:

you're the right kind of tuba player to release my inner fantasy.
Avatar 10:25am PKNY:

Gnarly! This reminds of the time I was at Rye Playland, and there was a marching band there playing Herbie Hancock's "Chameleon".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26am Marcel M:

Hahah.. wow..
Avatar 10:26am northguineahills:

I like Layla, but it probably helps I wasn't alive when the original came out. Now the unplugged version....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26am Marcel M:

Of course this was on Ken's premium haha
  10:26am KP:

Now this more like it!
Avatar 10:26am Cecile:

a weisswurst shade of pale.
Avatar 10:27am Claw!:

I love you so much, Joe.
  10:27am KP:

Was this done in-house
Avatar 10:28am βrian:

This definitely needs to be included on the next deep-space probe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28am dale:

love helge's other hit, 'a salty pretzel'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28am Ken From Hyde Park:

If there has not been a marathon premium of Sesame Street songs, then there should be one (hint hint)!
Avatar 10:29am Cecile:

and don't forget homburger
Avatar 10:30am Cecile:

the Roosevelt Franklin record is amazing.
Avatar 10:30am Roberto:

I've been revisiting Ken's 2005 premium "Moptop Mashups" lately.

'the beer of human kindness' is another prolkal harum tune.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31am Brian in UK:

Phew, that was lucky just had a telephone call.
Avatar 10:31am Claw!:

Yeah, Cecile. "My Name Is Roosevelt Franklin" is probably my favorite one.
Avatar 10:32am βrian:

DJ Premium: Tuba Ligation. Take it and run.
Avatar 10:33am glenn:

you mean the melancholy piano part written by the guy who went on to murder his mother with an axe?
Avatar 10:35am Joe McG:

@glenn: Yeah, apparently he wrote that with Rita Coolidge, who didn't get credit until, like, last week!
Avatar 10:37am Cecile:

wow, this is a crazy story:
Avatar 10:38am Joe McG:

I believe he's still locked up for it...
Avatar 10:39am PKNY:

Aside from being a homicidal maniac, Jim Gordon is also a very funky drummer, he's behind the kit on "Apache" by the Incredible Bongo Band (aka the hiphop National Anthem), as well as Zappa's "Apostrophe".
Avatar 10:40am glenn:

ooops. i was wrong. it wasn't an axe. it was a hammer and then a knife. sorry, jim.
Avatar 10:40am Cecile:

Yep. He's not up for parole until 2018. And considering what happened last time, he won't make parole until then:
  10:41am JakeGould:

Nice covers here.
Avatar 10:41am Cecile:

schizophrenia is a heartbreaker.
  10:41am KP:

Good Goffin
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42am Ken From Hyde Park:

Best version of "Remember" since Aerosmith's.
Avatar 10:42am Cecile:

never liked any cover of this.
Avatar 10:42am Cecile:

unless maybe it's Patti Smith in concert or something
Avatar 10:43am Cecile:

this is pretty choice.
  10:47am Brendan:

  10:48am Brendan:

Choice cuts are good but Joe mixes in lots of good variety meats
Avatar 10:49am glenn:

oh oh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49am dale:

LET IT SKIP - it's perfect
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49am Greg from ZONE 5:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50am Rich in Washington:

  10:50am Brendan:

Lester is stuck and its almost Groundhog Day
Avatar 10:50am Kurt Gottschalk:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51am thedunkel:

Avatar 10:51am Kurt Gottschalk:

Avatar 10:52am Kurt Gottschalk:

hey, i just played popsicles and icicles on a fill-in a couple weeks ago! love this song.
Avatar 10:52am Joe McG:

Kurt, I'm riding your coattails as usual.
Avatar 10:53am northguineahills:

I don't think I've heard this Murmaids song since I was kid in '84 and my parents were listening to the oldies station on a road trip.
Avatar 10:54am Kurt Gottschalk:

aw, heck joe, it's just in the air is all.
Avatar 10:54am Cecile:

Avatar 10:54am glenn:

Avatar 10:55am Cecile:

Always a fun band.
Avatar 10:56am Joe McG:

Couplet of the day: "I got ants in my pants / Let's dance."
Avatar 10:56am βrian:

James Brown: "I got ants in my pants and I need to dance."
Avatar 10:57am Cecile:

I always liked how they were a party band, but they had some good, dirty dark riffs.
  10:59am KP:

Avatar 10:59am Joe McG:

@Brian: How right you are!
Avatar 10:59am glenn:

i love little johnny jewel, but you have to question the wisdom of releasing this as television's first single.
  11:01am Brendan:

@sphere Did you see the movie Serial Mom? Theres a scene from Hammerjacks in there where Kathleen Turner lights someone on fire on stage and the crowd goes nuts. Good John Waters HJax reference.
Avatar 11:01am Claw!:

Music jokes, courtesy of McSweeney's:
Avatar 11:03am Claw!:

@sphere - They're building a new Hammerjacks, btw. Were you aware?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05am Ken From Hyde Park:

Who stole this riff from whom? Television or Duran Duran ("Girls on Film")?
  11:06am Brendan:

Guitar was channeling some serious Neil Young there in that solo
Avatar 11:06am glenn:

duran duran stole it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06am sphere:

@Claw! Yes, I have heard. I think they have a sign on top of the locations proclaiming that it will be the Site Of The New Hammerjacks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06am Parq:

Ken, pretty sure TV was first by years.
Avatar 11:06am Cecile:

Television was there looooong before Duran.
Avatar 11:08am Cecile:

I always liked Kix's Cold Blooded vid. It showed an attractive young lady going out, rocking out to Kix, smoking and dancing, and then going home by herself, and being happy.
Avatar 11:08am Cecile:

that's pretty damn cheap for that.
Avatar 11:08am Claw!:

@sphere - Yeah, it's gonna take over the building that's currently housing The Paradox.
Avatar 11:10am Cecile:

Avatar 11:10am βrian:

$10? Better to wait.

"Get your 'Little Johnny Jewel' singles while they're hot!"
Avatar 11:10am Cliff:

When he said, "I'm going to tell you a story", I thought it was going to be about the skipping record
  11:13am Dean:

I once spent a weekend hunting for the Sviatoslav Richter performance of Mussourgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition," a live recording from Sofia, Bulgaria, famous for his playing and the audience's incessant coughing and wheezing. It was nowhere to be found in the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area. I returned home and dropped into my friend's local record store, where a pile of classical used LPs, just acquired, sat on the counter. At the bottom of the pile? No, not "Little Johnny Jewel." It was the Richter LP. Fifty cents.
Avatar 11:14am Cecile:

Also Kix's Steve Whiteman used to have a death drop as good as any drag queen's.
  11:15am JakeGould:

The Super Bowl is this Sunday the 7th. Broncos versus the Panthers. That’s all I know in my quest to make basic small talk.
Avatar 11:15am βrian:

I had this conversation about the Super Bowl with my wife. We both thought it had already happened this year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:17am Ken From Hyde Park:

OK, cool; as long as the proper licensing and copyright arrangements are in place.
Avatar 11:18am Cecile:

I watched the NFC Championship Game. It was a little anticlimactic. Especially since I saw the game where the Panthers got beat.
  11:19am JakeGould:

@Dean: That just goes to show you… Never explore the world and don’t leave home!
Avatar 11:19am Cecile:

Also there were a couple of good "frozen tundra" games this year. MN lost to Carolina when it was -3 out playing outside. that's real football.
  11:21am Dean:

@Jake: There's something to that bit of wisdom.
Avatar 11:21am Ear Hammer:

Hey alright! Nice shout out for Taurus' a couple of months early!
  11:22am Listening Out There:

Man...I missed Sesame Street Fever :(

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28am Parq:

Avatar 11:28am Joe McG:

The drummer on this Marta Ren track is a mutha!
Avatar 11:28am Wild Neil:

Did we hit 100 messages? I am too lazy to count...
  11:29am Fred:

Who needs coffee Joe? These grooves are waking this west coast boy up just fine. Thanks bro
Avatar 11:30am Joe McG:

You bet, Fred, sounding good to me in the studio, too. Funk dance party!
Avatar 11:31am Cecile:

A sexy American promise.
Avatar 11:31am βrian:

Does Coffee Joe imply a double? A serious hit of caffeine?
Avatar 11:35am Joe McG:

@Brian: I don't drink coffee. True!
Avatar 11:37am βrian:

Well, no locomotive breath for you, then.
Avatar 11:38am Joe McG:

Wow, now I know what that song's about!
Avatar 11:39am Wild Neil:

Is the sound dropping out on the internet?
  11:39am Fred:

I guess a comma would have helped, and I realized the pun-tential as typing it but I didn't play it up... maybe I need some coffee... Anyway, nice work Joe and good morning Brian!
Avatar 11:40am Cliff:

Avatar 11:41am glenn:

ummm. riders on the storm ish.
Avatar 11:41am Cliff:

(Could also have said the same about the skipping record)
Avatar 11:42am Joe McG:

@Cliff: Ha!
  11:44am Brendan:

Thanks Joe fir turning my Monday 'rut'into a 'groove'
Avatar 11:46am Joe McG:

My pleasure, Brendan!
Avatar 11:48am Wild Neil:

I always had a soft spot for the Rocky theme played by the North Warren Regional HS Band. Mr Bouknight did a good job...back in the 80's circa 84 or 85...
  11:49am ?:

thanks for the flute JAMS
  11:49am parkway:

This is making the traffic I'm sitting in so much better
  11:50am Dean:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52am Ken From Hyde Park:

Thanks, Joe, and Happy Groundhog's Day Eve!
Avatar 11:54am Marc Francis:

Are there other groundhog days around the world? I know the US has Punxsutawney Phil and Canada has Wiarton Willie. Any UK weather predicting animals?
Avatar 11:56am Cliff:

Thanks Joe, enjoyed the show today
  11:56am Brendan:

Theres Dinsdale the Hedgehog
  11:57am Brendan:

Peppy the Wombat
Avatar 11:57am Joe McG:

Well, thanks for listening and commenting today, everybody! Gotta fly now! Sorry I didn't play any Groundhogs. Maybe Brian Turner will dig out the Tony McPhee tomorrow afternoon!
Avatar 11:58am Adam from Philly:

Boss just came in and asked why I was watching Rocky at work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58am Mike East:

nice show today, Joe!
Avatar 11:58am Marc Francis:

Hahahhaaaa. Thank Brendan. Now googling...
  11:58am TimBk:

This reminds me of NYC marathon, the kids from Bishop McLaughlin play the riff to Gonna Fly Now over and over in Ft. Greene. Best moment in NYC.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59am Mike East:

Adam, since your from Philly, I think it'd be reasonable to ask him why he's NOT watching Rocky at work.
  11:59am βrian:

Well, off to the archives, I guess. Thanks, Joe.
  12:00pm Ned Ryerson:

Thanks for a great show Joe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm Ken From Hyde Park:
