great track. is that low string synth an elka rhapsody....?
  7:10pm shanghi1:

Of course it was rejected they used Iron Maiden's lettering.
Avatar 7:13pm cosmic matrix:

honestly, i like the "intro" the best.
Avatar 7:14pm Marcel M:

Very glad you are doing this Devon. Its amazing the director rejected that track because it seems like a perfect soundtrack piece to me. I read a while back that Bowie had a vision of all these spacey ambient sort of songs but the director didn't share his vision in that regard. The cover of Low is a treated still from the film, I believe, and its one of my favorite record covers.
Avatar 7:16pm Linda Lee:

should be a lovely show.
Avatar 7:17pm glenn:

a good ish article. torontoist.com...
Avatar 7:20pm Linda Lee:

saw 'Christiane F' last night. striking anti-drug propaganda film featuring Bowie's soundtrack. well known songs from his time in Berlin. not all performed by Bowie, i don't think. lovely concert footage.
Avatar 7:20pm Marcel M:

Still haven't seen that, Linda. On my list.
Avatar 7:23pm Linda Lee:

very nice film, stylistically. lovely palette. concerns a clueless 13 year old & her quick descent into heroin addiction. the usual horror story.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Thanks, Devon, and WFMU for these nuggets of rare Bowie. This is interesting to hear.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25pm Devon E. Levins:

Thx for listening All. I'm sure everyone is a little tuckered out of the Bowie tracks at this point but I had to do it. One of my favorite artists of all time, so I need to pay my respects. At least many will be some of these less-played 80s to the 2000s tracks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26pm dale:

good show mr. e. levins. everyone has been trying to delve into the deep cuts but sometimes you just need to indulge in the poppy side of life.
Avatar 7:27pm Linda Lee:

i've been away from the radio today & yesterday, so it's fresh for me. i like the soundtrack approach.
Avatar 7:37pm Alejandroool:

Great to hear racks I probably wouldn't otherwise.. keeping it fresh, not too Bowie'd out here
  7:38pm Brian:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm dale:

googgled the song - did NOT know johnny mathis was the first to record it in 1959!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55pm chris:

wow, what a great tribute show. thanks, Devon!
Avatar 7:56pm InBrkly:

I for one am not yet tired of the Bowie tributes. Great selection. Don't remember his contribution to Falcon & the Snowman--that was a pretty quiet movie. Maybe just the credits?
Avatar 7:56pm InBrkly:

LOL at "There's little left when Bowie goes bare-faced"
Avatar 7:57pm TehBadDr:

This is wonderful, thank you.
