Hey! Cheyenne! Hello! Nice slow week fill in!
  12:12am JakeGould:

@coelacanth: What about the indigent and destitute? Are they welcome here or should they seek a poor house instead?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12am coelacanth:

this sounds a bit like Youssou n'dour (sp?)...also senegal?
Avatar 12:14am BadGuyZero:

Based on the title of tonight's show I'm looking forward to hearing some cat tunes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15am coelacanth:

Jake -i don't know who's not welcome here; just stay on your side, please.

  12:16am JakeGould:

@coelacanth: I hate clowns. Who likes clowns?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16am coelacanth:

(...and i meant "transient" in a more ethereal or spiritual sense.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18am coelacanth:

...i've known a few professional clowns. i wonder if they too were weirded-out by clowns.

@coelacanth: I wonder if Hitler was creeped out by clowns? Is there a “Downfall” meme video on clowns? “Send in the clowns? THE CLOWNS! We send them to camps! We shall transport them by placing dozens of them in tiny Volkswagen cars to save space, strip them of their big noses, their oversized shoes, wipe them of their makeup and make them work for us for once!”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24am Ike:

I don't normally listen to much of Prove It All Night, but there was a comedian on there on Sat. night with a good bit on being high on edibles on the subway and running into a terrifying clown.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28am Chop Scott:

Avatar 12:29am BadGuyZero:

Is Weird Al's "Eat It" one of your all-time favorite songs?
  12:29am JakeGould:

@Ike: Subway clowns are… Weird. You’re in Sunset Park, right? The Hispanic/Latin community there really likes clowns and costumed folks so a few times I’ve seen a few “Going home from work…” clowns just walking around like that is normal.
  12:30am Eric Hat:

Hello Cheyenne. Nice start!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30am coelacanth:

Jake, there are lots of not-funny hitler-mocking videos on youboob. i learned quickly to not watch them so i don't know about that one. it may be your responsibility. it will add some acceptability if its creators are of jewish descent,no?
  12:31am JakeGould:

  12:33am JakeGould:

@coelacanth: You know how there are Christians who are sane and Christians that are insane? Same with Jews… And anyone telling me Jews are just inherently funny has not been exposed to some of the stuff I have seen. Oy vey!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33am Ike:

Ha ha, yikes and yet also ROTFL at the phrase "'going home from work…' clowns just walking around like that is normal." I haven't been subjected to such a sight yet.
  12:36am JakeGould:

@Ike: There was this Hispanic lady/clown in the B63 bus once right near Meoldy Lanes that was dressed as a clown/Minnie Mouse. Her big shoes hanging from her backpack and she had her FULL FACE on including the nose and ran to the bus. Might have gotten off of the Subway or something. She was just like every other “Just get me home!” commuter but inadvertently whacking people with her shoes and had the nose/face on. And she was handing out her business cards to people with kids as well… So harried, not funny, not pleasant… But HEY! I look like a clown so here is my business card so I can show up at your home!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37am coelacanth:

i rent a room off this guy's fur-lined fall-out shelter, far below earth's surface, so forgive my ignorance; but i've never heard that people think all jews are funny. is that a thing?

Jake (@12:36) i want a video of that!
  12:39am JakeGould:

@coelacanth: I know you thought the “Three Stooges” were just like the “Three Wise Men,” but I hate to break the news… They are not so wise and should actually be arrested on domestic abuse and persistent property damage charges.
  12:40am JakeGould:

@coelacanth: As a white guy riding a bus through a non-white neighborhood, I am always very comfortable just taking raw video of people I don’t know and cultures I don’t understand to share with others.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42am coelacanth:

well,exCuuuuuuuuse Me. i learned all my morals from the 3 stooges and i know fur fact that i'm enlightened.

Am I eligible for a prize if I'm eating a pizza while "Ate A Pizza" is playing?
Avatar 12:53am Cheyenne:

YES! A prize of the pizza burp that's surely coming soon to a living room near you
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54am coelacanth:

the judges say yes!

now can you play a song about beer? i think i'd like a beer.
  12:55am JakeGould:

@coelacanth: Are there any songs about beer? I haven’t heard any ever from anyone ever for any reason.
  12:57am MONEYBAG$:

are there any songs that suggest putting down the zombie killing video game and going to sleep because you have to be at work in 7 hours?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57am coelacanth:

(actually i'd prefer a cup of irish tea but that's a bad idea at 1am.)

no,Jake. there are none. that's another thing you need to do.
...do jews drink beer?
  12:58am JakeGould:

@coelacanth: I did drink a beer once. And I prayed to Shemp all day to forgive me for my minor indiscretion.

Avatar 1:02am (Eyepatch) Noel Fox:

I think New Jersey now has better bagels and pizza than NYC does.
  1:02am MONEYBAG$:

they closed my neighborhood bookstore and turned it into a pizza place. much better use of space
  1:04am JakeGould:

@(Eyepatch)NoelFox: I believe that. I live in deep Brooklyn and our basic, cheap, work-a-day food choices are not as as good as they once were. But NJ has better hot dogs and nicer bagels. I agree.

I still miss the real tough bagels from the 1970s and previous. With crusts you could break a tooth on. It all seems like doughy goop nowadays. No crust.

I wish Pacific Standard Simon were here to add his two cents on bread crusts.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06am coelacanth:

i haven't had nj pizza or bagels in a few decades, but they were both excellent last i knew.
we have good pizza here,upstate-ish...bagels,not so much.
Avatar 1:08am BadGuyZero:

I like that Joni Mitchell song that goes ♫♫ they closed down the bookstore and put in a pizza place ♫♫
  1:09am Clay Pigeon:

Look at this heavy Accu-Traffic, and at this late hour! You are putting up some impressive numbers Cheyenne. Your Arbies must be through the roof! Great job!
  1:10am MONEYBAG$:

I dated a girl from NJ years ago, and she used to take me to this great restaurant called olive garden
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10am coelacanth:

yes, they used to be crusty outside and fluffy inside; now they're chewy and flavorless.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12am Ike:

Did somebody just mention Arby's, "the meal that's a dare for your colon"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13am coelacanth:

just be careful $BAG$, going to an authentic italian place like that. you know the mafia's involved somehow.
  1:13am Clay Pigeon:

Arbitron Ratings, Ike!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15am coelacanth:

BGZ i like that one too. i think the next verse says:♫♫ "we ordered-in pizza while putting up a book museum"♫♫
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15am Ike:

Yes yes @CP, I know. Forgive me my little indulgence in homonym punning.
Avatar 1:16am Jeff:

  1:18am Clay Pigeon:

Ike ... didn't know about that John Stewart connection. Arby's has a great jamocha shake and apple turnover. I quit eating that stuff, though. Man, it was good/bad while it lasted.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19am coelacanth:

he also sounds a bit like Howie Gelb, to me.
  1:19am JakeGould:

“Henchmen 21 & 24” sound like redneck Muppets.
  1:22am JakeGould:

@Ike: Any advertising is good advertising. But honestly, I’m getting tired of criticism of many basic fast food chains. Yeah, they are not that great for you. But the same can be said about a lot of other supposedly non-chain food. Pretty much every place that—for example—sells egg and sausage sandwiches gets their ingredients from similar suppliers. Ditto with Chinese food places; the stuff is mostly frozen and reheated anyway and definitely not good for you either. So hey! My egalitarian fast food thoughts!
Avatar 1:24am Jeff:

Captain Sensible without The Damned? Damn.
Avatar 1:26am Jeff:

Oh, and back to the Killdozer detour: is this really the guy now?

  1:30am JakeGould:

Avatar 1:34am Jeff:

Snuck up on you, didn't it @coelacanth?
  1:35am JakeGould:

Yes, that is definitely the same Michael Gerald. He’s good at tax law and says, ”No, that would be insane. In fact, one of our ground rules is that it can't interfere with our day jobs. What I have here is a bit more than a day job. It cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars to go to law school. I didn't do it just to spend a few years and then quit to make a thousand dollars a night on guitar.” www.chicagoreader.com...

I haven't heard "R2-D2, We Wish You A Merry Christmas" on WFMU this year.
  1:36am JakeGould:

@BadGuyZero: R2-D2 fell into a deep depression in the new movie so let the droid have it’s droid space.
