Sounds ripped from cassettes & CDs found in immigrant-run mom & pop stores. Deconstructed icons. Field recordings. Sonic mayhem from the far corners of the internet.

...somebody is testifying...
...Lebanon, New Hampshire...
Hello Gary & fellow popheads.
See you on the flipper flopper, Gary, fellow Bodegans!
I am ashamed to share a surname with him.
...better late than never right?
...'Optimistic' randomly coming from a car or truck on the street...
...but then - it was like : go FreeForm, & even an alternative to Alternative seems irrelevant...
I like Radiohead. Thom Yorke is apparently one of those hyper-aware persons - which makes the name 'Radiohead' appropriate. They Neuroticize themselves into excellence - which is the opposite of what many think Rock'n'Rolla is supposed to be all about - but Rules Schmules...
Gary - this is incredible. Like I said about Native American stuff on Rob Weisberrg's show: A different kind of Soul music.
I am gobsmacked by his abilities to do - literally - *anything*
- but then - why I am okay w/ not owning *anything* by him? Blame MTV?
their first 2 albums were basic guitar rock, though a notch beyond their peers, so they got known; but if those 2 albums hadn't happened they would be okay with all those who think they're too cool,or pretend they're too sophisticated for it.
(ironic since it's far more sophisticated than lots of "cool" groups that get heavy wfmu airplay)
...but i wasn't saying that everyone who dislikes them do for the reason i said.
Just no getting round an aesthetic distaste for a voice. Yorke said he was working w/ Bjork - & he broke emotionally - & she told him that was very *selfish* - & he acknowledged she was right. In Pop/Rawk - it's as much about distinctive Sounds as Musically Technical attributes. Yorke has a *distinctive* voice: he sounds like himself - & is expressive - & that's usually half the battle. People often say this about voices in Pop Music...
...well,i'm sure of it!
(except they're boring and not politically relevant)
later on y'all.
