@sugarwolf The gif is from a YouTube about leopard cubs at a zoo -- quite dull except for this one moment when he covers his eye like that. But I wasn't the one who made the gif! I had no idea anyone else in the world had even seen it. It gives me such faith in humankind that others feel the same way I do...

I listen to the wonderful Previously TV podcast about Beverly Hills 90210, so I should definitely listen to Simpsons Time podcast. #rememberthe90s
  12:40pm Listener Robert:

Ms. Nazario, your Simpson podcast gives me an idea: I ought to do a podcast of commentary tracks for "Lost" (the ABC serial, not the game show by the same name). It bothers me that I seem to be the only one who "got" that show, & then only because of the great advantage I had of having known its creator, and that its creators seem not to be interested in making the story any more explicit, instead leaving the impression they fucked up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm Amanda:

The world of podcasts is largely new to me, but I'm excited to reach a wider audience with this. I get the impression that podcast people are good listeners to talky commentary. Which means that they will point out my mistakes, but I welcome it.
Avatar 12:55pm ndbob:

I'm a pretty big podcast listener
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm Amanda:

Cool ndbob! Maybe you will like the ST podcast. First ep will be up tomorrow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm Gaylord Fields:

I wish that Avett Brothers song (and the Avett Brothers in general) would get more love in more quarters. But as long as it's getting the right kind of love (from Amanda, for example), all is good.
  1:05pm josh:

Such a weird choice for a rodent band...
  1:08pm MONEYBAG$:

I liked that Paul Simon song, but I pictured him singing it in a turkey costume
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm Amanda:

Maybe the whole movie One-Trick Pony should've been him dressed as a turkey and in other different furry outfits.

@Gaylord, glad to hear you are an Avett booster!
  1:15pm MONEYBAG$:

Imagine Paul in the turkey suit backed up by Keytar Bear
  1:16pm MONEYBAG$:

Imagine Paul in the turkey suit filling in for Darby Crash

This is a good alternate universe, say I.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Mr. Muntz: Great game, son. Come on, I'm taking you to Hooters.
Nelson: Aw, I don't want to bother mom at work.
  1:31pm Listener Robert:

Simpson kept announcing cuts of the "players" in the closing credits.
Avatar 1:32pm northguineahills:

I forgot about that Ken.
  1:37pm Listener Robert:

I actually do coach children's football.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm Ken From Hyde Park:

When's the last time anyone's car has actually been troubled with vapor lock? With the fuel injection and all today, it's literally a thing of the past. It's a great gag for a Simpsons episode.
  1:41pm Listener Robert:

How I got into it was sorta-almost the way Mr. Simpson wound up coaching football. I participated in a Delphi forum on single wing football where everyone else was a current or former coach, so they were like, you have all these ideas, why don't you try them on the field? Almost like a dare. That was about 10 yrs. ago, & I would've started in 2006 exceptI had a heart attack, but I volunteered in 2007 & have been doing so every season since except 2009, although not continuously w the same organiz'n.
  1:44pm Hackensack Slim:

Hi Amanda,
Another wonderful show. Nice to have met you in New Orleans. A Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45pm famous original sugarwolf:

It was either after watching What's New Pussycat or Casino Royale that led my mother to tell me "the 60s were dumb."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm Amanda:

But the dumb 60s are my favorite 60s!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm Amanda:

Great to meet you too, H. Slim! And a happy T-day to everyone btw. If you're tuning in, I will be on the air tomorrow night 9-12.
  1:49pm Hackensack Slim:

@ Ken from HP
When ever I see this Simpsons episode, I am reminded of traumatic, vapor lock related, family car breakdowns that haunted my childhood. I never knew anyone else who had the same problem. Just my mother and Joe Namath. I am thankful that it is a distant memory.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm famous original sugarwolf:

Better than the dumb 60s than the taking themselves to seriously 60s, I'll grant you that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm Amanda:

Well said.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm Uncle Michael:

I like 'em both!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm famous original sugarwolf:

I don't know whether to go to bed for few hours tomorrow evening or listen to your fill-in, Amanda.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Do you have a link or other instructions on where to get your Simpsons podcasts, Amanda? In Liz Berg's case, her "Playlists and Archives" page has podcasts interspersed with archives of her weekly radio shows.
