A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:06am tiago:

was it in your show I have heard this before? (very nice
(BTW what up with the playlist and website?)
Avatar 9:07am SHAGALOV:

OMG it's tuesday today! I've missed!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10am annie:

re: the new website layout: it's difficult, now, to see the progression of shows for the day. and no way to tell who is subbing.. i'm sure the tweaking will continue.
Avatar 9:14am ottovonbqe:

Re New Website: Who redesigns a homepage in 2015 and doesn't make it mobile-friendly???
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:14am thatpatsmith:

Hey there Trouble and Hello, Kitty
Avatar 9:15am Trouble:

today i am bowing down for some music i am thankful to. after a water main break/traffic nightmare commute this morning I am happy to be thankful
Avatar 9:15am Trouble:

smiling is good
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20am annie:

if i were to use an alarm clock, this would be it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:21am Webhamster Henry:

The new homepage is made with the Audience Engine, which is WordPress based; the old one was "mobile friendly" in that it had a constrained width; this one moves areas around like other Wordpress sites.
  9:21am Santos L Halper:

Crap, I forgot my mantra.

Oh yeah: eff em ewe, eff em ewe...
Avatar 9:23am the Canterbury wood-elf:

Can I stop bowing down now?
Avatar 9:27am ranjit:

Somehow I ended up with a short version of the Bagatov on my phone's music library, and it always bugs me that she only bows down to seven buddhas.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28am annie:

i have no idea when it was that i first heard this villa lobos piece.. but, wow, it gets me in the heart each time.
Avatar 9:30am bobdoesthings:

good morning
Avatar 9:30am ranjit:

annie - i first heard last year it while digging through a pile of LPs in a guest room that still had a pile of LPs in it for some reason (and a record player!). Me too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:32am Webhamster Henry:

I knew this sounded familiar:

Avatar 9:34am Trouble:

hola to Mexico!! welcome zinoy! Bonjour Paris!
  9:34am original famous sugarwolf:

  9:42am Mark R:

Loving this Fripp & Eno action.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42am tiago:

my view from experience is that children should stop growing at around 9-10 years of age and then leap into being like 21...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43am tiago:

I recognise I haven't thought this through...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44am Andrew Waterloo:

Tell me about it, mine is about to turn 12... a ticking time bomb
  9:48am Gibier:

Mine are 15 too, 15 months though
  9:49am original famous sugarwolf:

happy birthday DJ Icepack!

The box comes with a mattress pad so the baby can sleep in the box, but you can't put the baby away in the box once it gets too old, like an old pair of shoes or box of unread books.
Avatar 9:49am Trouble:

@gibier: des jumeaux?
  9:50am original famous sugarwolf:

Yeah last month I thought how did Icepack get to be as tall as me?!?
Avatar 9:51am Trouble:

and as tall as me! he's 5'10" right now @sugarwolf
  9:53am Gibier:

@Trouble: Twins indeed!. A boy and a girl. They're 17 months-old to be precise. Who's DJ Icepack? Happy birthday DJ Icepack!

Avatar 9:55am pierre:

Bon anniversaire de Paris DJ Icepack !

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56am officina:

Hey Trouble, by pure chance, that 'wind on water' Eno track just provided the soundtrack for a 'perfect moment' with my 12 year old son. Thanks.....
Avatar 9:57am Trouble:

Dj icepack is my son. he formulated that name for himself once upon a youngster day. it was actually longer, I think he forgot the additions and settled on icepack. double congratulations @gibier!!
Avatar 9:58am Trouble:

happy to hear from you Pierre. Hope you are well
Avatar 9:58am Trouble:

What kind of game is a bird-pig?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13am Ken From Hyde Park:

@Gibier - I just made an omelet with ham, cheese & asparagus. That was bird-pig, I guess.

Avatar 10:18am βrian:

And now Mr. Harnetty is on my must-get list ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19am Webhamster Henry:

If you folks are liking today's show, you might like Longplayer, which streams continuously and is also available as an app: longplayer.org
Longplayer is designed to play for 1,000 years, it's done almost 16 so far.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21am Priscilla:

The Slits! :-)
  10:22am Gibier:

Fred actually is Rubin Steiner's real first name. Maybe Fred is Rubin Steiner!
Avatar 10:22am thedunkel:

great set this am!
  10:22am Layet Johnson:

Whoa. Do you have an independent server that you hasn't shut off for that long? Sounds like a sweet house
Avatar 10:28am Trouble:

merci @ thedunkel!
Avatar 10:29am pierre:

@Gibier : I doubt it. I mean, I've met Fred, and never Rubin Steiner, but I can assure you Fred is no musician, simply a very kind and cultivated music enthusiast. So you're a friend of Rubin Steiner ! It's no surprise the guy's a listener, it seems to match his taste in music from what I (little) know of him.
  10:30am timotato:

Love Candy & The Kisses'60s horns that take me back to the "Keith 98.6/Aint Gonna Lie" days
