Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00pm Irene Trudel:

Hi everybody! Sorry for being such a silent partner tonight. Little bit of a weird day for me but it's better now that I can play some nice tunes for you all. I was going to wish you a happy birthday, Van, but you beat me to it. I'll see if I can dig up "Don't Give Up."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar 10:08pm Van in DC:

What is that in the background, aircraft? Semis? UFOs?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:09pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...is said ISB's intimate acoustic magic didn't work @ the massive mess that was Woodstock - which was these days in Aug. 1969 yeah...
Avatar 10:10pm Van in DC:

It's the behind-the-scene guys and gals who make all the stars what they are.

RIP to Bob Johnson.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14pm melinda:

S&G made my high school years more bearable. Bookends in particular. Memories...
Avatar 10:20pm Parq:

Wow, had no idea this Robyn cover existed. Cool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- this episode of 'Come to the Sunshine' features 'Bookends' in entirety in Mono & several other S&G besides: cometothesunshine.podomatic.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:22pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...have described Robyn as a a Sane Syd - but of course he credits Dylan as Primary...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:23pm Irene Trudel:

Me too, Melinda. That scratchy copy is mine from High School. Parq, Robyn has often talked about how Highway 61 Revisited helped him through a particularly rough time at boarding school. He released this unofficial album of covers a few years ago but I think it's since been deleted.
Avatar 10:24pm Van in DC:

Deleted no more. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:24pm Irene Trudel:

True too, Rev. Rabbit. Syd and Dylan go hand in hand in Robyn's background.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

YT video of Robyn doing 'Visions of Johanna' (Robyn: 'possibly greatest songwriting ever') @ Newport for recent anniversary of Dylan Goes Electric.

  10:30pm KP:

Are we rolling, Bob?
Avatar 10:32pm Parq:

Still remember the first time I heard "Deso Road". Seemed like it would never end, nor did I want it to.
Avatar 10:32pm Parq:

Row, not road. Sorry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33pm Irene Trudel:

I know Rev. Rabbit. Couldn't get tickets to the Newport Folk Festival this year-- sold out at the beginning of the year. And it was Robyn's first time there, as far as I know. Ah, well, he did perform it live for me on WFMU. Here's the show: wfmu.org...
Avatar 10:34pm Van in DC:

Thought the same for Europa by Santana
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:36pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- like Baez said - the stuff was telegraphing out of Bob then. What can you say.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:36pm Irene Trudel:

KP, I took some really nice pictures of Al Kooper the night of the LCOoD tribute. Just posted them today. Lookee here: flic.kr...
  10:46pm Listener Robert:

Oh, the sunset...I thought you'd been there much later for the Perseid meteor shower.
  10:47pm KP:

Wow, these are great Irene. You are quite the shutterbug.
  10:47pm KP:

Avatar 10:48pm Van in DC:

There really isn't anything Irene isn't great at...
  10:48pm Listener Robert:

One year I did go to that vicinity, near Mendham, for meteor watching.
Avatar 10:49pm Van in DC:

Thank you so much Irene!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51pm Irene Trudel:

Robert, I know the area well. Sorry I don't get out that way very much anymore.

Joyeux ♍Virgoan Solar Return Van !
Avatar 11:03pm Van in DC:

wow is this Fairport.......?
Avatar 11:05pm Van in DC:

More like Steeleye Span?

Avatar 11:06pm Van in DC:

Oh man I should know this
Avatar 11:07pm Van in DC:

Judy Collins? Really?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08pm Irene Trudel:

Judy Collins. She made a couple of weirdly wonderful albums in the late 60's. A lot of great producers & arrangers took chances with established folkies (maybe based on the strength of Dylan going electric?)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- two things brought to mind by this:
1.) Judy Collins reportedly practically shoved Leonard Cohen onto the stage for him to become a performer.
2.) Her son committed suicide.
Avatar 11:11pm Van in DC:

<-- New respect for Judy Collins
  11:11pm k:

Wow, this show is so killer today. Thanks so much.
Avatar 11:12pm Van in DC:

Couldn't agree more k.

Where's the donate button anyways?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19pm melinda:

Avatar 11:24pm Van in DC:

G'nite all! Glad you enjoyed the tunes tonight.
  11:46pm KP:

Never knew the Giant was this Gentle
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47pm Irene Trudel:

Here and there, KP. Usually the gentle is followed by some crashing power chords.

Avatar 11:53pm Van in DC:

Superb effort by all involved. Except for Ken the Station Manager of course. Thanks everyone!!

Tacos all around. And margaritas!
