@Rev.TurnipDruid: Kind of like this new discovery of who William Carlos Williams was talking about with the red wheelbarrow and the white chickens. www.nytimes.com...

i think stravinsky said that about stealing

Dean:

DNA rehearsed?

Really regret selling my Mars record, but at least I still have No New York (and Yes LA).
  4:17pm
Nardo:

@Dean I think I'd rather see the Ron Palillo version of Blow Out now that you mention it. Or his remake of Vertigo.
  4:18pm
Dean:

I didn't realize Travolta had worked with anybody else!
Avatar 4:37pm
V Priceless:

whoa! Great Bowie! Woo!
  4:38pm
P-90:

@Dean I saw my friend's rare VHS copy (with Mandarin subtitles) of the Ron Pallillo-directed version of Blow Out, with the young Sean Astin in the Travolta role. It wasn't bad; in fact I'd say Palillo managed to make his take on the material feel less fussily derivative of Antonioni, it was more like a straight-ahead Miami Vice era B-movie noir.

V Priceless:

followed by the Iggster, no less! Nice!
  4:41pm
Dean:

@P-90: Sweet! Push comes to shove, I'm partial to Palillo's camp version of Berlin Alexanderplatz.

I still marvel at Todd Rundgren's having produced the first Dolls LP. Hadn't Eno worked with The Modern Lovers prior to No New York? Or was that Fowley?

It was Fowley.

the second album with Ric Ocasek (sp?) is really awesome and their most musical i think... even though it was their least favorite
  4:57pm
Dean:

You give me too much credit, VP. I didn't know until I tried to settle the demo production question. I don't know much of Eno's work, the exception being My Life in the Bush of Ghosts.
