Hey everybody!!!
  12:12pm P-90:

@Amanda: is the level a little low, or is it on my end?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12pm Amanda:

I didn't realize the monkey and chimp would tapdance in this
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm Amanda:

The levels look good to me. Does it sound quiet to anyone else?
  12:15pm sugarwolf:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15pm Charlie:

Levels are good here. Hello.
  12:16pm P-90:

Maybe it's the stream, the volume's all the way up on my IPad and I can barely hear it. It was fine until "Abba Dabba..."
Avatar 12:16pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...AmNazz time is not too early for a 'Not Your Father's Root Beer' - in fact, if there's smurfs, I need a drink...
Avatar 12:17pm KP:

Just discussing Rodney yesterday. Best comedian i ever saw
  12:18pm MONEYBAG$:

Sounds OK to me
  12:18pm P-90:

Level is back up now, loud and clear.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm Amanda:

Hey @sugarwolf -- thanks again for the Simpsons cards!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm Amanda:

Man, @RevRab, wish I had a beer to take the edge off my nerves today. I skip a week and it's like I'd never done this before!
  12:27pm MONEYBAG$:

Is there such a thing as non-amazing space frogs?
Avatar 12:28pm ndbob:

afternoon Amanda and everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm Amanda:

@MONEYBAG$, I've yet to encounter one. Hypnotoad, maybe?
Avatar 12:41pm KP:

Fred Neil!! i was just listening to this particular song. it is so great
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm Charlie:

What a gorgeous voice Fred Neil has. He's like the Lou Rawls of folk.
Avatar 12:44pm KP:

Great way to put it, Charlie
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm Charlie:

Is Westsider where Gryphon records used to be? (I think so.) I used to get a lot of records there.
Avatar 12:44pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I always say this on Jeffrey Davidson's show too:
- as a Tim Buckley fan, hearing Fred Neil always stuns me...people said recordings didn't do his voice justice - or was that Paul Robeson - or probably both??...Anyhow: Wow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49pm Amanda:

@Charlie - I dunno no Gryphon records, but this is on 72nd between Bway/West End.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm Charlie:

Yup, that's where it was. North side of street. I got my box set of Cyril Ritchard reading Alice in Wonderland there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm Amanda:

Back to Fred Neil - what I love is not just his voice but how he manipulated it in his tunes, he wrote songs that showed off how low he could go.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm Amanda:

Cool! The people who run it now are so nice. They have another shop across from Zabar's that's great too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm Dominick:

Oh hell yeah!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm Dominick:

Avatar 1:02pm KP:

Same thought on Fred Neil. His voice makes his songs, although he has written some that transcend that
Avatar 1:06pm quinn:

hee hee, haven't heard this since middle school
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07pm Uncle Michael:

I can't stop. Damned Lays potato chips....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm Amanda:

@quinn, the summer between my 9th- 10th grade year it was EVERYWHERE.
Avatar 1:10pm quinn:

that might be more accurate. i thought it was just big because we were near philly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm Uncle Michael:

Nice cover!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm Uncle Michael:

I was in the car at the start of the show and unable to make my obligatory Piper comment. It's implied.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm Uncle Michael:

Nice sangin' by the way, Amanda.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm Amanda:

It was all over NYC too. On MTV, etc. But you probably heard it first, being from Philly!
Avatar 1:16pm ndbob:

@Charlie I had that box set - and re Fred Neil - he recorded a few rockers early on - and wrote a Buddy Holly song I think?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm Nate K:

Perfect timing, just in time for SIMPSONS TIME . . . time
  1:18pm P-90:

Good episode! Haven't seen it in ages.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Nate K:

Such a classic. "Lisa-- See you in the car, Milhouse."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm Nate K:

Doesn't Milhouse ask why Lisa is dressed like Blossom?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm Jeff Golick:

Beach house episodes are often great, across the board. There are good eps of Friends, and Seinfeld, that take place in beach houses/cabins.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm Amanda:

@Nate -- yep! "Lisa's skateboarding with some cool kids, and she looks like Blossom!!!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm Jeff Golick:

Not to speak of The Brady Bunch in Hawaii.
  1:32pm P-90:

One of my top five fave Beach Boys tracks.
Avatar 1:33pm jay c:

really making it feel like summertime with all the beach boys, great show!
Avatar 1:36pm Michael Shelley:

  1:37pm a listener:

Fred Neil. Dolphins. A song about a man trying to find a porpoise to his life...
Avatar 1:37pm Michael Shelley:

Third row center still up for sale:
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm Amanda:

Thank you, jay c!

@Michael -- LUCKY!!!
Avatar 1:41pm KP:

That Prinzhorn Dance School was impressive.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I liked that Simpsons episode. The gulls attacking the car at the end was funny.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm Amanda:

"The polite thing to do would've been to clean the shells first."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm Amanda:

Doesn't anyone have anything to say about this armadillo?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm Amanda:

@KP, glad you liked! They are great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm Uncle Michael:

I thought it was an armored possum.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm Amanda:

The video said his name is "Rollie," in case you question his commitment to the bit
Avatar 1:55pm KP:

Armadillo? I thought it was a stuffed olive.
Avatar 1:57pm northguineahills:

I got here just in time for the end!
Avatar 1:57pm ndbob:

excellent show Amanda!
Avatar 1:58pm KP:

oh no!
Avatar 1:58pm KP:

how did that happen
Avatar 1:59pm ndbob:

@Amanda - actually I love armadillos:)
  2:00pm P-90:

Thanks, Amanda! Have an amazing Fourth!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm Amanda:

You all have a great Fourth too! Talk to you next week!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm Jeff Golick:

Thanks, Amanda!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Armadillos look prehistoric, don't they? Also, The Screaming Hairy Armadillos would make a really good band name.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:04pm Amanda:

I've never met a real, living armadillo, but I want to the more I learn about them. Thank you all for listening today!
