Oi, Nick! Howdy, Folks! I'm ready to hear some on-air Child Abuse.
Let's do this!
  12:06am
Poo Blind Girl:

Hey Nick Name! Really digging your show while I crank out this paper tonight.
  12:09am
JakeGould:

Hello.

Nick Name:

Hey Claw! / PBG / JakeGould - welcome one and all
Avatar 12:17am

That Child Abuse! The one that nearly a decade ago Tianna Kennedy played cello in!? kick ass!
Avatar 12:21am
Claw!:

I'm afraid I'm not long for this board tonight - My work schedule has changed, so staying up til 3:00am isn't really feasible anymore.

Seems like I will just have to catch the rest of the show in those trusty archives, if it comes down to it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22am
Ken From Hyde Park:

I'd Google "Child Abuse," but I don't think I'd want to have that search term in my history file.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24am
coelacanth:

greetings Nick and all.
Avatar 12:25am
Claw!:

There he is! :-D
  12:26am
MONEYBAG$:

I think I saw Child Abuse many years ago at an art gallery for the mentally disabled, or maybe that was a dream
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26am
coelacanth:

oh man,i forgot about child abuse. i really-REALLY should not stay up much longer.

Hi Bear!!
  12:27am
rw:

I wish this King Crimson LP had been available when I was in high school.

Looking forward to this Child Abuse I keep hearing about.
Avatar 12:29am
Claw!:

Hooray for Child Abuse!
  12:32am
rw:

I guess I'm going to need to turn this up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Here we go!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34am
coelacanth:

hey Bear!,remember a few weeks ago when i said "did you change your hair?" (or something) & you said "a little" (or something)? well i was just making a funny about your new avatar...but i was to see actual current pix and maybe you DID get a haircut! your hair looks Awesome, either way-whether it's a recent change or not!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34am
coelacanth:

okay,i guess i'm up for a bit.
Avatar 12:36am
fleep:

I'm up for two bits. Do I hear three? Three bits, anyone, just look at the workmanship, the quality ...
  12:36am
rw:

Three bits.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38am
coelacanth:

5 bits!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38am
jmd:

This is great. Thanks for playing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39am
coelacanth:

6 bits...somebody?
shit. i was bluffing. i dont have 5 bits.
  12:40am
Claw!:

Heh... Yeah, I figured you were just being cute when you asked about my hair change. Thanks for noticing! ;-P
I've had this silly cut for awhile now - I just didn't have any recent pics up. The one with the Weird Al tickets is the only recent one. AND you can see my sweet eyebrow scar in that one! The other ones are at least a decade old. The black and white one was a self-portrait I did for a photo project in high school. It's always been one of my all-time favorite pics of myself.
  12:43am
Claw!:

I'm only up for about another bit and a half. I only slept about three hours last night. I am one sleepy broad. Bed is luring me with its sweet siren song...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44am
coelacanth:

hey i just thought it was kinda weird to mention a haircut and not say something positive (or anything) about it! ...but,even if i had looked first,i didn't know what your hair looked like before- since you had told me the one pic was at least 6 years old.

anyway,it appears you removed the one i really liked!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47am
coelacanth:

haha! that mustache shot is funny!
-and i see that scar at last.
...and i'll ask you about weird al some other time!
  12:48am
Claw!:

Oh, yeah. The one with the ridiculous red shades. Hah...
It might come back. I was just really feeling the one with the ridiculous sombrero and drawn-on mustache. It's more "Me," I think.
  12:50am
Claw!:

But enough about me...
What's up, Buddy??
How's your week been?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51am
coelacanth:

me? ...just Livin' the dream!
Avatar 12:52am
fleep:

With all the intentional distortion, engineering this must have been a trip.
  12:52am
Claw!:

You been able to hit up any good shows lately?
  12:53am
Claw!:

Seen any good movies?
  12:53am
Claw!:

Haha, Fleep! Yeah, I bet it was!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53am
coelacanth:

...actually it was a pretty interesting week,socially..and productive, musically.
then it was ruined by work!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57am
coelacanth:

(kidding. i really do like working.)
...no movies. no shows, though this weekend there are at least 2 local shows worth checking out.
...'reading some.
  12:58am
Claw!:

Anything you liked enough to recommend?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Happy Juneteenth, by the way!
  1:01am
Claw!:

Speaking of recommendations...

...did you ever get to dig deeper into any of that John Carpenter stuff I was pushing you toward????
It's ok if you did and decided it wasn't for you. I'm just curious if you were even able to get around to it in the first place.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01am
coelacanth:

i would recommend many books over the ones i'm reading now, though i am getting into them both. (crime and punishment & catch 22)
  1:04am
Claw!:

You're into the classics, it seems. Glad you're diggin em. Haven't read either of those myself. I tend to gravitate toward non-fiction. I'm reading a book about sanitation and poop called "The Big Necessity." It's very interesting. We really take toilets and plumbing for granted.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06am
coelacanth:

i checked it out a little,a long time ago. i still withhold an opinion until a little more exposure! that may not happen until i wind-up 2-3 more things that i'm working on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06am
coelacanth:

that was intense and ...intense!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10am
Ike:

Hey folks. Hey Coel, which translation of Crime & Punishment -- do you know?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10am
coelacanth:

Bear!,i only read non-fiction and (zen)philosophy for almost my entire 82 years. i wouldn't "waste my time" with fiction because there was so much to learn!
then i broke precedent for "sidhartha" because i figured it was a zen philosophy book disguised as fiction.
...now i love fiction!
  1:11am
rw:

Intense! Thanks Nick!
  1:12am
Claw!:

Nice song here, Nick! Yeah!
  1:15am
Claw!:

Oh, I can appreciate some fiction, too. I just naturally gravitate toward non-fiction titles for reasons very similar to what you described. I just really like to learn from books like those! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15am
Andrew Waterloo:

I need to read more fiction
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16am
coelacanth:

Hi Ike! i cannot look now,but i read 140(?) pages of one. it was drudgery! i never looked forward to it and put it down for months at a time.
then a friend left me hers which is translated by a male & a female.(i might recall the names if you said it)
i started again on page 100 and i actually look forward to reading it now. (i;m around 190 pages in?)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17am
coelacanth:

yes Bear! i still have non-fiction on my list. next up,i think,is a book about the ecology of moss!
  1:23am
Claw!:

BABY HUEY!
Love, love LOVE this song!
  1:25am
Claw!:

Moss is pretty sweet. It's pretty much always a clone of itself. And I like to touch it,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28am
coelacanth:

it's highly touchable!
  1:29am
JakeGould:

Kate Moss is a clone of herself.
  1:30am
rw:

I need some moss for a bonsai tree I've got growing in a dish in my back yard. Is moss hard to grow? Maybe I should get some Kate Moss.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31am
coelacanth:

she may be highly touchable too. i don't know.
  1:32am
Claw!:

No, miss grows pretty easily. You just have to keep it really moist because it dries out very quickly. I had moss from last summer in VT until very recently when I moved. It dried out beyond the point of saving. Poor thing. :(
  1:33am
Claw!:

*moss* grows
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33am
Ike:

Hey Coel, the male & female are presumably Pevear/Volokhonsky. I like them. The shitty old-school Victorian translation that remained prevalent for many years was Constance Garnett. Ugh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33am
coelacanth:

i know little about moss, but i have grown it from seeds and by transplanting swatches.
...and,maybe you should get you some Kate Moss.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34am
Ken From Hyde Park:

I feel like jumping around in a moss pit now.
  1:35am
Claw!:

I kind of want to make a bath mat with moss. I love the thought of stepping out of the shower onto a moss rug. So soft! And the humidity of the bathroom would be really good for it. :)
  1:35am
Claw!:

@Cken - Right???

Ike yeah the dry, heavy one is definitely Garnett. i'm thinking the one i like is 1/2 a scottish name. i'm looking for it on the web...

Bear!,that would be lovely!

Ninja Tunes do not let you down.
  1:41am
Claw!:

Oh my god, you guys. I really gotta turn in. I'm soooo tired. I wish I had a moss pillow, but I will just have to settle for a boring (yet reliably comfy) regular-ass pillow.

Stanley:

Hi Nick.
Brian, good to see ya.
When did this come out? It sounds like what the eighties should have sounded like!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43am
coelacanth:

i'd settle for an ass-pillow!

Sweet dreams Bear!.
  1:44am
Claw!:

That song was bloody epic!

Nick, thanks for the great music, as always. Child Abuse really brought the noise.
Good night to all you lovely people on the board.
Fish - I will catch you again soon, I hope. <3

Until next time - same Nick time, same Nick channel!
