Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

i've still never met a WBAI listener. i randomly tried listening a few times after the Bob Fass doc (which i liked), and heard talk shows where i swear i could not understand what the heck was going on (in a bad way).
  6:13pm Gee Lampa:

I prefer Poco to Toto.

Hello to Marcel, Fredericks, Spodiodi. Gee, I was going to play Poco's "Crazy Eyes" (JJ Cale song?) tonight, but it's 9 minutes long. One of these first weeks, a music show.

@Jake so great.

The only gates I remember in old NYC were the ones that folded horizontally. Not these roll down gates.

Clay has a knack for talking to the right people. This is really the wisdom of the streets.
OMG-- Feen-O-Mint gum in little vending machines on the platform!
  6:23pm Gee Lampa:

I had a cousin that gave me, like, 3 pcs. of Feenamint, telling me it was Chicklets.

I cried as it took its toll.
  6:23pm JakeGould:

@P-90: Lots of people were constipated back in the day.
  6:24pm Gee Lampa:

  6:27pm P-90:

Trump just can't resist the attention, but they waste media time and space humoring him like he might have a chance...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:27pm Polyus:

Clay, would like to hear you talk to some people about the shooting in Charleston. Probably kind of a difficult subject to bring up to strangers on the street, but if anyone can get people to spill their guts, it's you.
  6:27pm P-90:

@steve: actually his father cut him off from investing the family money
  6:27pm Gee Lampa:

Christie is polling just above trump as a potential.

Avatar 6:29pm Clay Pigeon:

Polyus. The Charleston story broke a bit late for this episode. A horrible thing, and it would have been good to talk about. Sad to think that by next week it may be losing traction in the news cycle. Crazy world.
  6:30pm Gee Lampa:

I'm waiting for big media to call on white America to condemn, en masse, the racist slaughter @ Charleston.
  6:30pm iris:

  6:31pm Fredericks:

  6:32pm P-90:

Fox News already complained that Charleston was called a "hate crime"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm Polyus:

Fox News is framing it as an attack on Christianity.
Avatar 6:32pm Clay Pigeon:

Right, Iris, Billy Jack. I used the music a few times on this episode. Hello Montagoo IV ! Fredericks, I've been hearing about that film. Interested.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:33pm steve:

P-90 - could be wrong but i've read multiple places since yesterday Donald inhereted something like $40+ mil and thousands of pieces of real estate from his father upon his death
  6:34pm Gee Lampa:

@P-90 despite that a survivor said that the shooter basically said he had to do it because "they" were raping our women.

Typical #FauxNews

Black White and Puerto Rican! Asian's are a myth.
  6:34pm P-90:

During his Dad's life, when he was starting out in business, he was forbidden from investing family money in his projects, after the first couple disasters.
  6:35pm Gee Lampa:

Clay, you really know how to pick 'em.
  6:35pm iris:

Clay knows how to choose his subjects!
  6:35pm Old Dave:

Wow, all the Asians must be glad to hear they have to give up pets and never be seen again in this word.
  6:36pm iris:

Ha! Didn't agree with what she said but it was interesting!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:36pm common:

  6:37pm JakeGould:

I’m flushing my fish down the toilet right now so the whites, blacks and Puerto Ricans can solve this thing once and for all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:38pm Īke:

HA HA @Jake. Yeah, she sounds friendlier than a lot of WBAI's characters, but w/the "pets" bit, we see how much footing in reality she has, and we see the ultra-far-out sort of quality of your standard current WBAI acolyte/factionalist.
Avatar 6:38pm Clay Pigeon:

I have a back-up CD rolling after last weeks Skip-Fest
Avatar 6:38pm Clay Pigeon:

Hello common and Old Dave!
  6:39pm JakeGould:

I have started to watch “The Trial of Billy Jack” at 3 hours that is one crapper of a film… But the original “Billy Jack” is great.
  6:40pm JakeGould:

@Ike: So you are basically saying that WBAI listeners have lost their minds, right?
  6:40pm Gee Lampa:

Franklin's Tower
Avatar 6:41pm Clay Pigeon:

Ike! Good 2cu!
  6:41pm P-90:

@Jake: I still haven't seen "Billy Jack Goes to Washington", which I understand contains Lucie Arnaz's meatiest feature film role.
  6:41pm AJ:

I'm writing in Clay Pigeon for president in 2016

  6:43pm iris:

@P-90 Lucie Arnaz's meatiest feature film role! That's a gem of a sentence!
  6:44pm Gee Lampa:

Would you believe.... Donald Trump?
  6:45pm Gee Lampa:

"All The Way With Clay"
  6:46pm Gee Lampa:

Say Clay in '16"
  6:46pm iris:

Clay's got my vote!
  6:46pm JakeGould:

Also, you know how easy it is to make ANY animal a service animal nowadays? Seriously, I think I just need a calm dog and simple certification and then people can pay me to let some dog sit on their lap. So yeah, only “service animals” will be allowed… Here is my service Iguana.
  6:46pm P-90:

Vote for a New Day with Clay
Avatar 6:47pm Jeff:

Hey, Mr. Pigeon. I heard that earlier interviewer mention Marco Benevento, and I wanted point out that he's indeed been played on Irwin's show a good bit and even been here... but it looks like Mike East handled that in a more timely fashion farther up the comments page.

Here are some pictures of MB here in the Live Room:

(the above, plus several following).

He has live tracks in the 2012 show Mike East linked to, which is when I believe my photos are from, and it looks like he came back in 2014:

  6:47pm Gee Lampa:

"Truth, Justice and the American Clay"
  6:47pm JakeGould:

@P-90: “Trial of Billy Jack” is just horrible.
  6:48pm Gee Lampa:

This loungey ballad is an incredible contrast to the clip
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm Ike:

Thanks, CP. Good to hear you. Hey Steve -- who me, eloquent? Jake, hmm, would I say something like that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm Polyus:

We don't know what it is, but it has to stop. Sounds good!
Avatar 6:50pm Jeff:

Not interviewer, interviewee. I hate not being able to fix typos.
  6:51pm Gee Lampa:

The dangerous thing about Trump is that he doesn't talk like a politician. He doesn't couch his racist message in political code.
  6:52pm Gee Lampa:

My man is running deep
  6:52pm P-90:

That Kraken really wreaked havoc with civil rights and race relations

Clay, what are the instrumental pieces you're playing? I really like them!
  6:56pm cnp:

This is pretty close to one of my favorite show you've done, Clay -- you've got a sixth sense for interviewing interesting people. And really liked the Charles Ives :)

  7:00pm Gee Lampa:

Reminds me of mid period Hot Tuna.
  7:00pm Gee Lampa:

  7:00pm Old Dave:

Another thought-provoking show. It sounds like most of us are pretty self-involved. To the point
of narcissism... or are those just the more vocal ones willing to be interviewed? Hard to tell.
  7:00pm JakeGould:

Clay should have hooked up the “there are only white, black and Puerto Rican” lady and the guy who said that there are no Puerto Ricans.
