Options Brian Turner: Playlist from May 5, 2015 Options

Order and disorder in a freeform haze of terribly-played guitars, shorted-out electronics, found audio detritus, strange sounds from strange lands all around. Psych-punk-junk, collage, even pop. Lots of in-studio live performances to boot.

They just name checked Rather Ripped Records (SF)in the Residents track. I used to have a Rather Ripped bumper sticker on my car, in retrospect not a prudent choice for a long haired youth driver.
  3:13pm Dean:

I remember first reading about The Residents in Trouser Press, a review of Fingerprince.

Rather Ripped was in Berkeley, north of campus at Euclid and Hearst.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm common:

  3:17pm Dean:

RR is featured on Greg Kihn's first LP: http://gregkihn.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Kihn-Greg-Greg-Kihn-Front.jpg It is now a coffee shop, but every time I pass it I remember visiting the store c. 1981.

That Nzumbe title is one of Georges Bataille's more interesting articles.
