Speaking of #1 hits, I love the good Rev's new record. Equinox is my fave track so far, but I'll now for sure soon: I'll have this as the soundtrack to walking home in the middle of the night, pretty soon

Those guys. What they said.
  3:47pm ?:

This track gets a lot of airplay. At least I hope I'm hearing it on the radio.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Scott Williams:

Disintegration Loops is the best, most moving requiem / memorial for anything ever. sez me, but I'm open to other suggestions
Avatar 3:56pm Mary Wing:

Scott, do we have this in the record library, or is this your personal copy?
Avatar 3:57pm steve:

i remember presenting this track to a programming class i was in 10 years ago as an example of... something relevant i can't remember. probably looping. the prof loved it so much he asked if i would let him borrow the cd.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm Scott Williams:

@Mary, yep it's in the library (CD), lots of Basinski there. Steve - hmmm, not sure what relevance it has to programming, but it's a classic example of tape rotting rust flakes
Avatar 4:01pm Sean B.:

'Thick As A Brick' was the best album cover, ever.! Left Field Note To @ScottW
  4:01pm Mark:

Scott, it's so interesting that you're playing this William Basinski fellow because I was just reading about a new recording he's just released, and in the review, they referenced "The Disinteration Loops," too. Very cool stuff.

Thanks! Certainly looks like interesting stuff gets played on here - yes I'll have a look through the archives, but I actually just like experiencing the random so whatever get's played. If it's good then great, and if I don't like it, well being irritated by music is still better than mindlessly hearing the bland pap you get on mainstream stations.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm Stepchild:

@M&P: A Chart is a picture of the sky @ a certain Time & Place - so to speak. The chart @ the same time for two places say, 100 miles apart will probably be pretty much the same. But the more precise the better.

We need a "Canadian Booze Sampler of the Month Club" we can subscribe to, Sem's always telling us about these treats, gets frustrating not being able to try them. Liek a bunch o little bottles in a box, each marked with the date & time of the playlist on which he's going to describe it...

@P-90: Maybe our AstroRabbit could add an astrological reading if the time of bottling is precise enough
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:04pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@fred: As Jung said about Astrology - they believe vintage about wines, but not people.
  5:05pm JoeUK:

Albergo IS - excellent. Will look out for more of that.
Meanwhile, as it's 10pm here I'm hitting the port and stilton...
  5:05pm P-90:

Good question: do wine and spirit vintages have a "natal chart"?
Avatar 5:05pm Sean B.:

@P-90 Ok. I feel great either way...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:07pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@P-90: Does the U.S.A. have a birth chart? What precise time & place of birth do you choose? For people, the tradition is the moment of 1st breath.

Jung said that? The old lush...

Strawberry/rhubarb infusion, sounds perfect for the upcoming summer months! And for December...a special bottle of "moose milk" on dry ice!
  5:11pm P-90:

I've seen people publish "birth charts' for the US. But how do you figure it? The time and place where people first agreed on the "idea" of the US? The moment of the signing of the Declaration?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- if you knew when (& where) that was.
  5:14pm P-90:

Sure we do, isn't there a song about it in the Broadway musical "1776"?
Avatar 5:14pm Sem Chumbo:

Dark overproof rum, vanilla ice cream and heavy cream. Fattening, befuddling, sugar-coma inducing: just right for the holidays, Matt.
Are we there yet? :-D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm fred:

@RRN63: I never read Jung, but I read what Adorno had to say about astrology. Lame enough it could make me give more credit to it. More seriously, I'd say a birth date for spirits should be time of bottling, but it's when it stops aging, so it's kind of a death. But distilling time seems just wrong. Wine is different, obviously
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm Kat in Chicago:

Great headphone music!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16pm fred:

@P-90: Not unrelated to what I said about spirits, I figure the time when everyone agrees on the "idea" of the US is when that idea is dead
