Avatar 9:07pm Van in DC:

I do so love the Spring theme of Cherry Blossom / Magnolia background this time of year. Truly perfect.
  9:08pm Jerry Jeff:

Thanks. Forgot about this one.
  9:10pm Sean in Bristol, UK:

Sorry Irene, got to throw in a bit of baseball, five hits off 'The Dark Knight', the cheek of it from The Phillies. Promise I won't mention the beautiful game again during the show!
Avatar 9:11pm Van in DC:

Sean, you can talk about baseball anytime.

Go Braves :)
Avatar 9:16pm slugluv1313:

ahhh Allison Steele The Nightbird must be smiling upon us :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17pm Irene Trudel:

Hi Van, Sean, Jake, Jerry Jeff and Slugluv! Alison Steele indeed!
  9:17pm Sean in Bristol, UK:

Off to see Ryley Walker in Bristol this coming Monday, can't wait!
Avatar 9:17pm Van in DC:

Love the Ryley!
Avatar 9:18pm Van in DC:

Just saw Ryley recently here in DC! He is truly a wonderful performer.
  9:19pm Hugh:

Good evening, Irene, and all,
First time listening, on my brand new Bose. Wow!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20pm adrian in mpls:

Avatar 9:20pm Van in DC:

Hi Hugh, welcome to heaven
Avatar 9:21pm Van in DC:

Thanks Irene
  9:24pm will:

Thanks for the Nightbird comment. Oh lordy, my whole musical life is coming full circle (and I am so glad).
Avatar 9:24pm Van in DC:

Holy cow, I thought this might be a track from Fairport or something. What a fantastic set.
  9:24pm Dean:

Circus Maximus ... oh that brings back memories - not to mention flashbacks
  9:24pm Hugh:

Heaven indeed! I'm at the limits of the FM signal, always listened on a tuner, with a ground wire, stuck in a potato.....
  9:25pm melinda:

Good evening everyone!
Avatar 9:26pm Van in DC:

Melinda, you are just in time to get your requests in. Oh, hi.
Avatar 9:31pm Van in DC:

So, a progress report of KT - Before The Dawn video - nope. Still nothing. UNGLAUBLISCH.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34pm Irene Trudel:

Welcome will, Dean, Hugh and melinda! Thanks for all the radio-love. We all do what we can to tune in. Van, I don't expect that KT video before next autumn. You know they have to labor over every detail! ;)
Avatar 9:34pm Van in DC:

Japan / David Sylvian would seem to go pretty good with this set actually. So would some obscure Sally Oldfield :D
  9:36pm P-90:

Very, very nice set, DJ Irene. A pleasure to be along for the ride.
Avatar 9:38pm Van in DC:

Irene - as I promised, when that KT thing appears it will be delivered to WFMU addressed to you.
Avatar 9:40pm Van in DC:

Fantastic set
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar 9:49pm Van in DC:

I bow to you Irene
Avatar 9:51pm Van in DC:

wow oh wow
  9:51pm JakeGould:

Folks, is 91.1FM solid for other folks? On my side in Brooklyn (Bay Ridge) it seems staticish with some local interference, but not too sure if that is just me or something else.
Avatar 9:52pm Van in DC:

Where is the donation button again...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:59pm Tome:

... web page is only hesitating to refresh here, now and again, since early Monday . but I am persistent ..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00pm Tome:

...but streaming @ 128K just fine ( more important )
Avatar 10:00pm Van in DC:

Wall Matthews! Wonderful!
Avatar 10:03pm Van in DC:

Folks - the Sallyangie from the Oldfields - Mike & Sally... that was when they were teenagers, and was their very first effort at recording. Talk about obscure! And Irene caught it! Wow. I am completely amazed. I will be donating more to FMU in her honor.
  10:06pm Hugh:

91.1 is being stepped on, it's range has been drastically cut. I'm about 25-30 miles, south of the transmitter, the signal used to extend another 30 miles south, no longer, now. FMU is only 1,500 watts.
  10:07pm JakeGould:

@Hugh: So you mean that in the last day or so 91.1FM has been spotty for you?
Avatar 10:10pm Van in DC:

Okay, I will definitely be donating more to FMU in Irene's name tomorrow. Minimum Mouse of The Day pledge. Ya'll all join me, k? www.wfmu.org...
Avatar 10:13pm Van in DC:

That was a surprising set.
  10:13pm JakeGould:

That was a lovely set, Van.
Avatar 10:14pm Van in DC:

Avatar 10:16pm Van in DC:

Thanks again Irene
Avatar 10:19pm Van in DC:

I can't wait to get to work tomorrow morning just to listen to this whole show again via the magical FMU archive genie! I love her!
  10:23pm B:

Thank you Irene. Your show is a treasure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28pm rsj:

i have relatively good reception in park slope now, but my radio doesn't sound as good as the stream, but the show sounds great!
  10:36pm JakeGould:

Great show Irene! Nice Herbie Hancock. And for some reason now the signal seems a bit better. Before I was getting some local interference every few seconds it seems. Don’t know if that was just me or something else.
  10:39pm Santos L Halper:

This ...Midnight sounds great. Looks like I missed a good show but was seeing a great Dylan show instead. Highly recommended, I must say. Catch you on the archive Irene!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41pm Irene Trudel:

Hey B, rsj and Jake, glad the signal's reaching you okay. Santos, I think seeing Dylan was a good excuse for missing the show. How was he?
Avatar 10:46pm Van in DC:

This is kind of disturbing sort of. Keeps waking me up ;)
  10:48pm KP:

Good evening from New York, Irene
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49pm Irene Trudel:

Hey KP! Glad to have you. Sorry I'm putting you to sleep, Van. It may be worth it for you to stay up a little longer...
  10:50pm manuel vrgs:

im loving your show so much! hi from Mexico <3
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50pm Santos L Halper:

Really good, one of the best shows i've seen him. Nice and intimate feel, with some really interesting arrangements of Tangled and Blowin'. Band understated but strong as always.
Avatar 10:51pm Van in DC:

Still here Irene... :)
Avatar 10:53pm Van in DC:

The birds would make Trouble proud
Avatar 10:58pm Van in DC:

Manuel, hi! Where in Mexico? Glad to see you here.
Avatar 10:59pm Van in DC:

Avatar 11:00pm Van in DC:

4AD - Daughter. Irene, thank you so much...
Avatar 11:01pm Van in DC:

If You Leave - AMAZING live recording in the "air" place in England...forget what it's called...but amazing...four songs...amazing..,
  11:03pm KP:

Lovely Daughter
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03pm Irene Trudel:

Santos, that's good to hear. My husband & I passed on Dylan this time because he had been more erratic than ever the last couple of times we've seen him. Wow, manuel! Glad to have you-- you might be my first listener from Mexico! Van, I finally got around to getting this Daughter album. Thanks for pushing me!
Avatar 11:03pm Van in DC:

the videos add another element, but Elena's voice...wow
Avatar 11:04pm Ryab:

Irene this is just getting to me. I'm just laughing it's so great.
  11:05pm manuel vrgs:

yeiy! i love wfmu !. it makes me feel so indie jajaj ;))
Avatar 11:05pm Van in DC:

I bow to you Irene. I don't know what to say.
Avatar 11:08pm Van in DC:

Mike & Sally Oldfield for the first time EVER on FMU! Daughter for the first time EVER on FMU!

My donations going up big time.

Irene - thank you so much.
Avatar 11:13pm Van in DC:

yeah and then sandwich everything with Ryley Walker and Wall Matthews and now Becca. If Sandy Denny / Fairport next ... or KT.... I can just admit I've died and am living a dream audio experience.
Avatar 11:19pm Van in DC:

Amazing performer - Steven Wilson
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23pm Tome:

nice .
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24pm Irene Trudel:

I am really looking forward to seeing Steven in concert at the end of May! He did interviews/performances for us at WNYC's Soundcheck. A lovely, thoughtful gent, and very talented musically.
Avatar 11:26pm Van in DC:

You are going to love him. Get him in to studio to record live if you can...or did you already and I missed it...
Avatar 11:38pm Van in DC:

Thanks Irene
  11:43pm JakeGould:

I thought Ken Nordine was Arch Oboler for a second. Wondering if it was later than I thought it was. It was! I thought it was 11:30pm and it is really 11:43pm.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45pm Irene Trudel:

Ah, Arch Obler! Lights Out? I don't really remember what he sounded like.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46pm Irene Trudel:

Oh, Van, those appearances were a couple of years ago. I'm hoping they'll get him back. I don't know if I'll be able to snag him for WFMU but I'll try.
  11:47pm JakeGould:

Yup, they sound similar. Here is “Cat Wife” “Lights out… Everybody… It… is… Later… Than… You… Think…” www.youtube.com...
  11:48pm P-90:

RIP Percy "When a Man Loves a Woman" Sledge.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49pm Irene Trudel:

Wow, The Cat Wife! That was on an LP compilation of old-time radio shows the Longines Symphonette put out. My parents had the box set. Very cool!
Avatar 11:50pm Van in DC:

Irene - thank you so much. I just can't say thanks enough.

About to crash - wish everyone a great day/night.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51pm Irene Trudel:

Aw, P-90. I did unfortunately hear that about Percy. No time to play something tonight. Maybe one of the daytimers here?
  11:51pm P-90:

This reminds me a little of Jack Cassidy's narration of the classic Night Gallery segment "The Last Laurel"
Anyone remember it?
Avatar 11:55pm Van in DC:

Google "Daughter live Air Studios" :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55pm Irene Trudel:

No, I don't remember him on Night Gallery unfortunately. I'll bet it's on You Tube somewhere. On that note-- Good night everyone! Thanks for tuning into tonight's meandering show.
  11:57pm P-90:

Great job tonight as always. Thanks DJ Irene.
Avatar 12:21am Van in DC:

So.... definitely check out Daughter's Air Studio performances...five I think. All awesome. You will not be disappointed. Imagine a 4AD band meets Orchestra. yeah, that. AWESOME. Made me a fan right away. It's all on YouTube.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 2:33am Sean in Bristol UK:

A show of epic proportions, Irene, the penultimate set was out of this world, loved the tracks from Daughter and Public Service Broadcasting. Goes without saying, Becca and Steven, I worship the ground you walk on! Folks, you have to see Steven Wilson!
Avatar 11:24am Van in DC:

I was wrong. Daughter HAS been played before at FMU, but not very much...
