Greetings, all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:01pm listener james from westwood:

How do, Tony and all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:01pm DCE:

hey Tony--keeping those rascally racoons at bay?
Avatar 12:02pm Tony Coulter:

Heya, James and DCE!
Avatar 12:03pm Tony Coulter:

All is quiet on the raccoon front -- for the moment, anyhow. Maybe they realized they don't even like raisins.
  12:04pm V Priceless:

Hey Tony!
Avatar 12:05pm Tony Coulter:

Hola, V Priceless!
  12:05pm Dean:

The image: Elvis Presley in drag eating beef jerky?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06pm DCE:

haha Dean!
Avatar 12:06pm still b/p:

I thought mebbe he was sniffin' a smudge-stick.
Avatar 12:07pm Tony Coulter:

Beef jerky makes the best microphones.

Greetings, Dean and still b/p!
  12:08pm V Priceless:

Yesterday the news reported it was 42 degrees in Anchorage Alaska and like 5 here in NY/metro area. No better today. -3 at 8:30am. Yow!!
  12:11pm Dean:

And microphones make the most refined feasts. I love a Brüel & Kjær confit on a bed of mattresses drizzled with cough syrup.
Avatar 12:11pm still b/p:

But those Scentheiser smudge-sticks, man...
Avatar 12:16pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Who has carrot cake?
Avatar 12:17pm Tony Coulter:

Nothing but beef jerky cake today. Greets, Turnip!
Avatar 12:20pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Meat microphone? Are you Shure?
Avatar 12:23pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar 12:25pm Tony Coulter:

Krishna rock!
  12:26pm Dean:

Put a wind sock on that microphone, for crying out loud. The sibilants are irritating.
Avatar 12:29pm βrian:

Or you could lean it and speak Castilian spanish ...
Avatar 12:30pm βrian:

lean in, that is.
  12:31pm Dean:

Castilian? That'th thilly.
Avatar 12:33pm Tony Coulter:

Hey ho, βrian!
  12:35pm Dean:

Rip off Mississippi Queen much?
Avatar 12:36pm Tony Coulter:

God will punish him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm Rich in Washington:

I want that Elvis(ish) painting.
Avatar 12:44pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I want a walrus.
Avatar 12:46pm Tony Coulter:

Hola, Rich!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm listener james from westwood:

Kinda surprised the W.E.B. track wasn't earlier, mid-70s. Maybe the mid-70s were still very much alive for them. Loved it & the Walrus!
Avatar 12:48pm Tony Coulter:

Agreed, James: W.E.B. did not notice it was the '80s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm Rich in Washington:

Walrus is another of those amazing hard rock bands I never knew existed until very recently. Also, Crushed Butler.
Hola, Senor Tony!
Avatar 12:51pm Tony Coulter:

Crushed Butler is one of the all-time great band names.
Avatar 12:56pm Tony Coulter:

The crimp has taken your mind away....
Avatar 12:57pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Crushed Butler had to have shared a bill with Fuzzy Duck. If just for the poster potential...
Avatar 12:58pm Tony Coulter:

Fuzzy Crushed Butler Duck
Avatar 12:58pm Tony Coulter:

... the new super group....
  1:07pm Crushed & Fuzzy:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm Uncle Michael:

Avatar 1:25pm glenn:

Avatar 1:25pm glenn:

Avatar 1:27pm Tony Coulter:

Ahoy, Glenn!
Avatar 1:27pm still b/p:

For spiritual and physical health, ask WWJD? and WWENE?
  1:32pm Velvet Elvis:

Have you heard Bowie&Presley doing TVC15 on You Tube?
Avatar 1:33pm Tony Coulter:

Nope! Sounds ... intriguing!
Avatar 1:33pm V Priceless:

Clicky star show, Tony!
Avatar 1:35pm Tony Coulter:

Thanks, VP!

Tho I will be changing direction soon. You may want to take your star back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm Uncle Michael:

This version predates the Monkees recording, yes?
Avatar 1:36pm Tony Coulter:

Wasn't the Monkees song called "Hairy, Hairy"?
Avatar 1:37pm V Priceless:

haha! The clicky star was pre-meditated with that in mind, Tony!
Avatar 1:38pm TDK60:

I recall being surprised when I found out Butterfield's 'Mary Mary' was by the Monkees.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm PMD:

Will evil win?
Avatar 1:41pm still b/p:

Avatar 1:56pm Tony Coulter:

Nope -- it's Officer. But I see why you might ask!
  1:57pm ?:

touch of Matching Mole in there as well
  1:58pm Suessman:

Avatar 2:00pm Tony Coulter:

Turn, turn, turn....

Avatar 2:02pm Tony Coulter:

Please do NOT Rest in Peace, Daevid Allen!!
Avatar 2:04pm Tony Coulter:

Avatar 2:06pm V Priceless:

Indeed, Tony!
Avatar 2:06pm northguineahills:

Ok, that's twice my comment got eaten. 15 minutes ago I mentioned it is always nice to heard Adam Bohman.
Avatar 2:08pm Tony Coulter:

Weird -- sorry for the comments cannibals. (and greets, NGH!)
Avatar 2:08pm still b/p:

Elvis ate 'em. You gotta create a peanut butter and banana diversion before posting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Uncle Michael:

man, is this ever an overlooked Pistols track. By me...
  2:09pm HippiePunk:

Best set ever.Today
Avatar 2:10pm glenn:

mmmmm. peanut butter and cannibal sammiches.
Avatar 2:11pm Tony Coulter:

Thanks, HippiePunk! Always glad to to cater to both parts of your name.
Avatar 2:12pm V Priceless:

I continue to hold firm to the belief that Prog and Punk can - and do - often times play well together!
Avatar 2:15pm still b/p:

Dr. Lecter's Easy Lunches the Family Will Love!
Avatar 2:20pm TDK60:

HippiePunk: See SST Records' bands circa 1984 - '85! (Universal Congress Of / Meat Puppets / Husker Du's 'Zen Arcade' etc.)
Avatar 2:29pm Tony Coulter:

In any case, '70s punks & '80s post-punkers grew up when psych and prog were in the air, so it's in their genes whether they like it or not.
Avatar 2:30pm Tony Coulter:

Maybe in their jeans too....
Avatar 2:33pm V Priceless:

well said, T!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm Uncle Michael:

Television was a prog band.
  2:38pm H.P.:

We had a number of bands play afterhours at our house. Thanks I am familiar with SST/Subpop/Ralph/Recommended recs/ etc..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm DCE:

Luc is very quiet
Avatar 2:40pm Tony Coulter:

He is growing slowly....
  2:40pm Dean:

The Tubes were a punk band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm Stanley:

Ha, I went from prog to punk via R'n'B, all during 1976!
Avatar 2:42pm northguineahills:

Luc Ferrari!
Avatar 2:42pm Tony Coulter:

That old hippie punk.
Avatar 2:42pm TDK60:

When first hearing Television, I thought, how un-punk some of the guitar work sounded; reminded me a bit of John Cippolina from Quicksilver Messenger Service. Very intricate and expressive.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm DCE:

that's definitely a good touchstone, TDK60
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm DCE:

now Luc is loud and proud
Avatar 2:48pm Tony Coulter:

Rock that harpsichord, baby.
  2:51pm Dean:

Finlandia has released at least two crazy harpsichord disks by Jukka Tiensuu, The Exuberant Harpsichord and The Fantastic Harpsichord. Both are fantastic. And exuberant.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm Stanley:

@Tony - and my hair got progressively shorter over the year. Pal of mine at school had hair to his waist and was told not to come back after the '76 summer holidays, if he didn't have it cut. Came back shaved after punk hit our streets that summer and got sent home until it grew back!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm DCE:

can't beat 'em, can't join 'em
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Uncle Michael:

Terrific show, Tony. Thank you.
Avatar 2:55pm V Priceless:

Fab show, Tony! Thank-you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm DCE:

is the mic on?
Avatar 2:56pm TDK60:

Great tunes Tony.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm listener james from westwood:

Superb blend of styles today. Dug it!
  2:57pm Dean:

I don't believe that was Non Credo.
Avatar 2:58pm Tony Coulter:

Believe it, baby!
Avatar 2:58pm Tony Coulter:

Thanks everyone! See you next week!!
