Listener comments!

  3:12pm Al:

Mighty Mouse was from Terrytoons, not Hanna-Barbera. But yes they did produce a lot of awful cartoons. Amazing that they had a record label that issued garage rock!
  3:14pm JakeGould:

Hanna-Barbera cartoons were not any more awful than anything else.
  3:15pm JakeGould:

And hello!
3:20pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Hello from the top of Mt Wachusett just outside your favoritest city, Worcester, Mass.
  3:20pm El Kabong:

I do the thinnin around here Baba Looey, and do-o-o-o-n't you for-get it

  3:31pm JakeGould:

I love Quick Draw McGraw. www.youtube.com...
  3:31pm Robert:

Just imagining "spinning...and spinning...and spinning...& spinning" instead of "hugging...and kissing...".
Avatar 3:32pm slowbear:

the pow wows?
  3:36pm Robert:

It's easy to mix up Hanna-Barbera w Terrytoons, because Barbera had previously worked w Terry. Most of those big guys in animation went from studio to studio, and you can often see it in the similarity of their product.
  3:38pm Punkin' Puss and Mushmouse:

the Ugly Things !
Avatar 3:44pm Mailman Tom:

Keep 'em coming, hot and heavy !
  3:44pm JakeGould:

I like El KaBong. www.youtube.com...
Avatar 3:48pm Mailman Tom:

How many copies of a record had to sell in order to make the #100 position on the charts for just one week?
  4:02pm Noel:

Killer Dusty
  4:03pm Al:

Dusty Springfield could sing the phone book and I would listen attentively.
  4:06pm Noel:

we were discussing Troglodytes on Manchester this morning
  4:23pm 4pm mic break question:

Was Mike Appel of the Balloon Farm . . . the irritating manager in Richard Neer's (&/or Carol Miller's) book, such that WNEW wouldn't play some early Springsteen?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Art Clokey did both Gumby and Davey & Goliath. The stop-motion animation is pretty similar in both of those series. Gumby came first.
Avatar 4:38pm glenn:

i ordered the 4 maynard and the musties c.d.s, received them in the mail, and love them.
Avatar 4:39pm glenn:

well, of course. gumby is a boy.
  4:45pm JakeGould:

Even as a Jewish kid, I liked Davey and Goliath… But then the last 5 minutes were always so weird.
  4:58pm Oh Davey!:

I'll guess the #100 song would have sold 3% of a typical #1.

"Gumby and Pokey first appeared on the Howdy Doody Show"

Last week's Walter Brennan sent me revisiting the Real McCoys divining rod episode
  7:13pm Bill from Clifton:

Re: 4 PM mic break...yes.
  4:54pm John W.:

I experienced the same reaction as Bill did when I watched "Into the Woods."
